it's lazy, its cliche and most of all entirely under filmed the 5th wave main use would be as a doorstop, the acting is ordinary, the story line is sloppy but most of all it fails to fit in with any genre

This movie takes the end of the world scenario and tries to fit too much into its runtime: aliens masquerading as humans, child soldiers, and Chloe Grace Moretz journeying across a forest and finding an intergalactic romance as she tries to track down her missing brother who is being turned into a child soldier to battle the aliens. The film is all over the place and the direction is lifeless, creating an artificiality to an already fantastic scenario. The actors are really working, but it doesn't much matter when all sense of reality has petered out in the first few minutes.… Expand

La voici en tout cas, notre petite Chloé avec sa mise en plis et ses **** ongles vernis qui manipule un fusil d'assaut M4, dotation standard de l'armée de terre des Etats-Unis. Elle est partie pour sauver le monde et son petit frère idiot qui veut son nounours en peluche. Car la planète est envahie par les "Autres", des Extra-Terrestres belliqueux qui viennent nous coloniser...

On ne s'ennuie presque pas, on a de beaux effets spéciaux (surtout au début), une mise en scène très propre (bien agréable) et une sorte de rebondissement vers la fin, une espèce de révélation qui fera sourire Monsieur Vincent (il s'appelait bien comme ça ?), celui qu'on ne voulait jamais croire, celui qui les avait vus, les Envahisseurs... ah qu'ils sont sournois les vilains !

Bon, franchement, c'est tiré d'un bouquin pour les ados et le film est un film pour les ados et les gamins même si c'est pas produit par Disney... faut dire que Disney est trop occupé à éponger Starrr Warzzz, alors c'est Sony qui s'en occupe. C'est donc bêta, très bêta, mon gros bêta ! et grâce à l'amour, on va gagner ! les gosses et les ados tous ensemble ! ouéééé.

Putain. Oh merde, un gros mot. Attention, y a des enfants qui regardent. Vous reprendrez bien un verre de grenadine avant de sauver le monde ?… Expand

After watching this movie for an hour, I simply had to stop watching it - and I generally love alien invasion movies. The storyline was so unrealistic and downright inane and lacking in interest. The 5th wave is like any other end of the world films. Although its not really a good movie it is entertaining for the viewers who like action and science fiction movies.

What a disappointment to such a great and captivating book! The 5th Wave is still fun and enjoyable to watch though, even if it is boring at times and does not live up to the book!

Like many adaptations before, The 5th Wave suffers from those important decisions when making the adaptation, I do not doubt that they were made with good intentions, but it did not work, the film is hollow and that can not be avoided in any way.

With generic special effects and a cheesy romance, "The 5th Wave" is a movie that has potential to succeed, but in the end is a tedious, slow-paced snoozefest.

I stumbled upon this randomly, but within a few minutes I was hooked. I thought the storyline was pretty good and the movie it self was awesome. The actors within did a really good job. A lot of the bad reviews I saw all came from people who read the book and didn't like the comparison. However, you can't expect the movie to surpass the book. If you live like that, all of these awesome movies that do detour away from the book, but are still good, will always let you down. I do plan to read the book after this movie, but for what the movie was, it was really good and worth a watch!… Expand

I was expecting good from the movie after watching the trailer but nothing went good. The type of story movie had, it should have been a proper built up story but they rushed the story too much that you are unable to connect with the story.I was expecting good from the movie after watching the trailer but nothing went good. The first four waves are shown like if director is doing any favour on us and the way 5th wave was disclosed, I was literally not impress. The only thing that was little but good in the movie was acting by the lead. The character development is also very bad, so bad that you won't be able to connect with them.

It was just a wasted potential. This story needs a proper reboot with proper story writer and director.

Overall, I will not recommend this to anyone except they want to waste their 2 hours.… Expand

I'm on the hunt for a really good Sci-fi movie with Aliens, this is definitely not one of them. I feel like after watching this I've been cheated in some way. I feel like after watching this I've been cheated in some way. The plot of this story is what ruins this film the most, the acting is average, the characters are average and the scenes and cinematography are slightly above average. Finally, the actual aliens themselves are a letdown. This movie feels like it was so under budget that it had to put all of it in explosions and some gimmicky CGI.

The idea of there being multiple waves of an invasion is not bad, it's just used so poorly that the film can't find a grip somewhere in between where it's interesting.

Yeah, that's it, this could have been really good if focused on the earlier Waves instead of the storyline of "Oh my family member is here now I need to go here", it's too predictable, and doesn't play to its strengths.… Expand
