That's Entertainment, Part II is a knockout. The very handsome and polished sequel to That's Entertainment! transforms excerpts from perhaps $100 million worth of classic Metro library footage into a billion dollars worth of fun, excitement, amusement, escapism, fantasy, nostalgia and happiness.

The original song-and-dance formula is diluted, however, by a dozen or more comedy scenes (with the Marx Brothers, W.C. Fields, Hepburn and Tracy, Abbott and Costello, and others). But they are so wisely chosen, sharply edited, and outright funny that the overall entertainment level remains high.

Packed to the rafters with musical numbers, this cheerful documentary features moments from films such as Gone with the Wind, Meet Me in St Louis, and Singin' in the Rain - a fun watch, even though it was not as commercially successful as Part I. [01 Nov 2014, p.32]
