With Sarah Connor from the original movie now institutionalised her son, and future leader of the resistance against the machines, John Connor is living with Foster parents. The machines that rule the future send back a cyborg, played by the terrifying Robert Patrick, whilst the humans send back their own cyborg to protect him. Schwarzenegger again excels in a role he was born to play, his voice and physique suiting his cyborg character perfectly.

This all leads to a series of truly memorable action sequences that still largely stand up today in terms of special effects. Add to this a surprisingly good script for what is largely an action fare and you have the ultimate action blockbuster.… Expand

First off, I would give this a 9.5 out of 10. This is a great sic-fi. The best terminator movie. Acting is good. Everyone does a good job. Score is good, and has a really good story. Yeah well, I am usually very critic about science-fiction movies, but this time the whole thing comes with a lot of action (exceptionally well done), and some light humor, which is not interfering with the mood of the movie. The time traveling aspects (yeah I know I am picky) are somewhat "flawed", but nothing I could not overlook (like in the case of Looper). One of Arnie's best, and the villain is also remarkable. Will remain a classic. The special effect were all very advanced back in the day. Some looks cheesy nowadays, but not bad. Recommended.… Expand

T2 will never be equaled. If they sent Bach's music into space, they should have sent this film along with it. Each scene is there for a reason and shows us something new. The strength and weaknesses of the characters are clearly seen, but they are not brought to attention in a ham-handed way. The use of CGI is avoided for much of the film which is a godsend especially in the context of modern films. There are too many reasons to list as to why this film should be forever lauded... Aside from being the pinnacle of action films it teaches us some real lessons about the cost of human life.… Expand

Terminator 2 is an amazing and enjoying thrill ride that is one of the best action movies ever. The plot is very well constructed, the acting (especially Arnold Schwarzennegger's Terminator) is top-notch and very memorable. The amount of depth each character has is just amazing and you identify with each character, there is such an emotional charge to each moment that you are sucked into the movie. The action scenes are top-notch and will keep you enthralled in it, there are many in the movie and suspense is well-maintained when needed as well. The movie is sure to be remembered and quoted every time for a long time ("Hasta La Vista, Baby"). Flaws, there are hardly any except for maybe it can be a bit lengthy and the action takes some time to get interesting but once it does it's awesome and it is a small flaw though. Overall, Terminater 2 is a smash-hit movie that is an example of a super-action flick deftly crafted with emotion that will be remembered forever and is almost as good as the first one. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Though Titanic may not be my optional favorite I have to say James Cameron knows how to make great sequels, just like Aliens Cameron now those his own Terminator franchise

Arnie (Schwarzenegger) is Back! as the Terminator who previously under the command of the renegade robotic computer system Skynet was sent back in time to execute Sarah Connor and her then unborn son John Connor, who is destined to be the future leader of the human rebellion. now reprogrammed to save them both the terminator must now square off against his replacement the intelligent T-1000 who has the power to cyberform into liquid metal making it almost completely unstoppable as the three must now form an unlikely alliance and prevent Skynet's predecessor Cyber-Dyne systems from gaining full fruition.

A well done A+ oscar winning sci-fi action flickl and probably as grand as its prequel and easily standing among Aliens and Star Wars Episode 5 is a explosive achievement in Cameron's charismatic career… Expand

If the first movie was good with Arnold being the evil Terminator hunting down the seemingly innocent Sarah Connor (while utilizing some very top notch special effects by 1984 standards,) this 1991 sequel is even better with Arnold being the good Terminator trying to prevent John Connor from being hunted down. This movie is well-placed, and focuses mainly on the three main characters, John, Sarah, and the now good Terminator as it should. This movie also gets high marks from me as it featured special effects that were WAY ahead of its time, courtesy of the new, evil Terminator that can regenerate its body, even when it's broken into dozens of pieces! This movie demonstrates that while we don't know for certain what is going to happen in the future, we are always in control of what happens in the present, and therefore, we all play a hand in shaping what the future will eventually have in store for us. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and I highly recommend it to people looking for some great thrills!… Expand

Aquí muestran mas emociones, hay mas personajes los cuales son interesantes, aquí puedes ver como los acontecimientos de la primera película cambiaron el futuro haciendo posible al T-1000, esto expande mucho la anterior. James Cameron supero a la anterior, que también dirigió, y le dio un final épico a esta serie. Esta película es una obra maestra, tiene dialogo inteligente, momentos de exposición y hasta algunos cuantos de comedia y todo termina encajando de una manera increíble. Esta película es increíble, mirala tan pronto termines de ver Terminator 1. Los efectos especiales también son muy buenos para la época y hasta casi todas las heridas del T-1000 son animatronicos, no miércoles de CGI sino animatronicos individuales. Esta película es increíble y lo único malo de esta es que Cameron dejo esta serie por que la termino y las nuevas siempre van a sufrir de la sombra de Cameron. In comparison with the first Terminator film is this second installment much better when it comes to action sequences, practical effects and storytelling. The major improvement is of course the villain: the T-1000. He’s so scary and awesome at the same time. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong are all spectacular actors, and their characters are so incredible and you really feel close to them. The actors are much more professional now than in the first film. There’s a massive amount of action in this movie, and there’s a huge amount of cool and unique things at the same time. The action is much faster and there are spectacular practical effects that just look incredible. The first Terminator film got some doll models, but this does not. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a highly entertaining and well-made film that got a touching story and even some humor! The opening scene and the ending are both great, even though the ending felt a bit to rash. The soundtrack is also great, but it could have been even groovier, which could have made the film even cooler and dramatic.

This movie got it all: great science fiction, awesome action sequences and fantastic storytelling. Not to mention the incredible script.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day gets an 8.8/10.… Expand

Now, the sequel is here! Terminator 2 is certainly one of the best action movies EVER made. Arnold is back as the T-800 and Robert Patrick as the T-1000. This is even better than the original, it is just Nostalgia, excellent graphics which were great back in 1991, and are still great, the T-1000 is even scarier than Arnie in the first one, and guess what he's back.

A sequel with even more action, another sharp plot, and fantastic performances. James Cameron shows a lot of unique ideas and cool (although dated by today's standards) special effects. It's definitely is focused on being more of a big spectacle action film.

However the film doesn't lose it's brain as a result. It's still a thoughtful sci-fi film. The time traveling aspect is handled well. Some light touches of humor and emotional drama make it a movie that can be more accessible to a wider audience. Thankfully, without losing too much of what made it's predecessor so great.

Cameron shows he isn't afraid to change things up for his sequel. Grander ambition all around make it a sequel that's better than it's predecessor in just about every way. With a standout performance from Schwarzenegger, meticulously crafted action, and cool sci-fi elements, and you have a film that can please just about everyone. It's an action film with more brains behind it than the average affair.… Expand

This is James Cameron at this best. Terminator 2 doesn't just surpass the original but it gives us one of the greatest sequels of all time.

This is, in my honest opinion, one of, if not the greatest film ever made. T2: Judgment Day is a violent, brutal, entertaining film which delivers on all levels. With heart racing set-pieces and some of the best action sequences in film T2: is not only a great action movie but one of the best movies ever.

From watching this movie I thought the graphics were **** and that they could of done better with the ending it's just them distorting the chips in liquid that completely does NOT look like actual melted metal. The only James Cameron movie I believe truly deserves a perfect score of 10. A classic that will be remembered by ages, but unfortunately, is in the shadows of Cameron's big and overrated movies like Titanic and Avatar.

Probably famous for being one of the few movies out there that is better than it's predecessor, this is one movie that I think is actually not as great as the last one. Allow me to explain. The first one I thought had better subtext about warProbably famous for being one of the few movies out there that is better than it's predecessor, this is one movie that I think is actually not as great as the last one. Allow me to explain. The first one I thought had better subtext about war and the dangers of technology, this one however does still have bits of that located in it somewhere, but is more focused on trying out new types of effects. Not that's bad, this has some of the best action out there. Some of the things I am disappointed about is the opening, it's the same as the last one, but doesn't have that same flare that it had. The effects overall in this film are quite entertaining and are still pretty good for todays standards. Arnold is still good, for not showing emotion, but the scenes where they try to insert humor for him don't always work. Unfortunately I think that this is one of Arnolds last movies that he stars in and does well, afterwards is a steady decline. The main cast does pretty well to, definitely some believable characters. The villain is really good in this, even though it's a clone of Arnolds performance in a way, he's very imposing and at times scary. This is definitely a awesome movie, but compared to the last one it's just not as well written.… Expand

One of the best movie sequels of all time and it earned its place in movie / pop culture history. It was carefully made, plays with expectations and delivers an amazing experience. It had a good mixture of action, character development withOne of the best movie sequels of all time and it earned its place in movie / pop culture history. It was carefully made, plays with expectations and delivers an amazing experience. It had a good mixture of action, character development with an immersive story. Lets start at the beginning: The Terminator was already a really good experience and the story could easily be continued. It is the standard Hollywood rule that if a movie is successful enough you get a sequel no matter what (Curse and blessing of the industry). It took still quite a while until they started. A frequent reason I read were production issues and that the special effects technology was not good enough. However after solving the issues they could start. Luckily they get the best assets back with James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton atop of many people behind the screen. The story is set approx 10 years after the prequel. The supercomputer Skynet who is at war with humanity in the future sends another Terminator to get rid of John Connor who will lead the human resistance to victory. Again the resistance does send one of them back to stop the Terminator. This sounds firstly like a warmed up retelling or re-shoot of Terminator 1 but you will be surprised how good the story will become and how much effort was put into it (I am vague on purpose to avoid spoilers). The story itself has a lot of good ideas some twists and a mixture of action, story telling and character development / interaction that makes it hard to find flaws. Of cause you can find smarter solutions for Skynet to eliminate John like a virus pandemic or a high bounty to let ruthless humans do the hard work. However these are just thoughts or ideas and will not be used against the movie. I will continue with the actors. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to his most iconic role and fully delivers. Same goes for Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor. She also fully delivers and got a lot of character development. Then we got Robert Patrick who is the best addition to the movie. Edward Furlong as (young) John Connor is one of the few good child actors that also started successful career later. He is absolutely believable and relatable. I want to point out for the rest of the cast that there is not one missed scene or awkward acting moment I can remember. Everything fits into the narrative and I think I should praise James Cameron as director (also writer and producer). Visually the movie sets new standards for its time. Be it the sets or especially the special effects. While some special effects look not that impressing today they were amazing and baffled the audience. Then there are of cause the action sequences and they do nothing halfhearted. Often I hold my breath because these were so intense, immersive and entertaining. The stunt team deserves credits. Overall this is rightfully named as one of the best sequels of all times and outclasses the prequel. It is one of the most well know movies of all time, pop culture legend and so carefully made that it is easy to recommend. It is the best of the franchise and the kind of movie all later installments try to reach or surpass (Hint: They never came close again).… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Before you all murder me for what I'm about to say, just hear me out. Terminator 2 is an average film, and I'll tell you why:

Pros:

1. Special Effects.
2. The T-1000.
3. Proves that sequels don't always run out of ideas.
4. The fights are good (but get kind of repetitive eventually).
5. "Hasta la vista, baby!" is almost as good as the classic "I'll be back."
6. After eight years, Arnie still looks hip and young.

Cons:

1. The lack of suspense, unlike the first film.
2. The T-800 says he won't kill anyone, but he eventually kills numerous cops.
3. The action feels almost identical to the first Terminator.
4. The part where Sarah Connor narratez the movie when John and the T-800 bond is emotionless.… Expand

I'm surprised this horrid creation turned out to be a classic. "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" is basically the same film "The Terminator" was, only with better effects.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The sequel of The Terminator (1984) was way better than I expected. Because of the ratings in many websites like Rotten Tomatoes, the first one (100%) was rated higher than this one, the sequel (93%), also in Metacritic was the same, Terminator in 1984 got 84% and Judgment Day just got 75%. Metacritic rated so terribly. But in IMDb was fair. The Terminator Saga is one of the franchises that had its sequel better the the original like the Spider-Man Trilogy directed by Sam Raimi or the X-Men franchise. Schwarzenegger was still T-800 but with a different mission. The last time we saw him as a villain, well in here he was sent to protect Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton)’s son, John Connor (Edward Furlong) who would lead an army to destroy the machines in the future. He was still a kid that time but his performance wasn’t bad. He was great with different emotions and good acting. In here, I liked Hamilton’s performance more than the previous film, she was a mother, a badass fighter and she was addicted to cigarettes. I also loved the way she looked but I didn’t like the way she got drunk. Schwarzenegger just got much better. In here, there’s a new villain called the T-1000 played by Robert Patrick, a better and more modern prototype. He could morph into liquid metal and used his hand as various weapons. The way the CGI was edited was really awesome. The cinematography was great as well. It was filled with a lot of great and classic moments. The action sequence here was a lot better, especially the liquid metal (I’ve already mentioned that) and the battle between the good guys and the SWAT. The CGI was well-edited there with lots of shooting and explosions caused by Schwarzenegger’s T-800. The strong violence and sci-fi actions didn’t really make this move deserve an R-Rated. It was totally safe for 13 and 14 year-olds. I didn’t see anything too bloody, just T-800 cutting his arm, that’s it. I really didn’t like the idea the the whole Terminator Saga would be rated R. It’s just sci-fi, actions and little violence. Nobody would be afraid, they’re gonna like it. That’s something I don’t like about the movie and the rest of the Saga. The final battle was extremely epic when T-1000 knocked down T-800 and then Sarah came to knock some of T-1000’s ass. Then T-800 came up lying on a giant clockwork and holding a rifle that caused destruction shot at T-1000 and he fell into the lava (maybe?) and melted. The way the villain died was just so satisfying. This is one of James Cameron’s masterpieces of sci-fi. He got really good with the CGI and I’m looking forward to see the 3-D version of Judgment Day released in 2017 with better cinematography and maybe I could feel that I’m in there. This one was definitely my favorite of the Terminator Saga.

Terminator 2 has a similar plot to the original but instead of Arnold Schwarzenegger being the killing type of Terminator he's the protector of Sarah Connor's son, John Connor played by Edward Furlong. However a newer machine even more deadlier and advanced than Schwarzenegger's T-800 is sent too to Kill John Connor and can shapeshift, immitate humans and do allsorts of clever things. The shapeshifting enemy is the T-1000 played by Robert Patrick so we have two machines, one programmed to destroy and the other to protect. Terminator 2 has great performances by Linda Hamilton, Arnie and Robert Patrick and amazing stunts, action scenes, violence and special effects and the almost constant use of blue lighting. Great film but the original one for me is better because it's just darker and violent.… Expand

there seems to be only one man who can take the original movie and make it better . first Aliens now the terminator . camron just takes every thing and kicks it up a few knotches and does it so well. this is deffinitly the blue print on howthere seems to be only one man who can take the original movie and make it better . first Aliens now the terminator . camron just takes every thing and kicks it up a few knotches and does it so well. this is deffinitly the blue print on how to make a kick ass sequel and just make a kick ass action film period . the story is nothing to new that pushes the series foward much basically machine sent from the past to kill sarah conners son instead of her . this time though arnold is the good terminator sent to protect john connor from the bad one . its nothing ground breaking but it sure is entertaining as hell to wach .the acting is pretty well done and the action just blows up on the screen with gusto . i dont think you could see this film and leave it saying it needed more action . the visuals in its day where amazing i remember seeing this in the theater and every one was loving it . even by todays standered it still holds up pretty well. so if you wana see a great action flick and have missed this then you should check it out.… Expand
