My review in two words? WATCH IT

The reviews I see here for this are so disconnected from real, human experience (no Pun intended). This film had every thing I wanted for my Saturday night in. I was thoroughly thrilled and entertained with the wit and intrigue. It was absolutely suspenseful and the acting was so compelling, hats off Maika Monroe (Julia) and Gary Oldman (TAU). The story was told masterfully from such a small visual set but expanded upon all of our imaginations when it comes to AI which is a field widely explored but still feared these days. It begs a lot of Moral questions, those of which we see our chief antagonist and protagonist explore.
So un-put-down-able I spilled the wine while watching 10|10

It's got good production values and the relatively unknown principals added realism. However, I found myself siding with the antagonist as the film progressed, I just wanted Julia to meet her end. And if anyone but me watched the final 10 minutes then you realize the stunningly stupid ending cannot possibly result in a rating better than 4! So disappointed at what could've been. Expand

A good story; it doesn't break new ground but the AI Tau was great - played by Gary Oldman.

Never thought I'd dislike Gary Oldman, but his voice of the AI is just terrible.

However, if you go in with an open mind, you might find that there’s some fun to be had. Parts of Tau are entertaining, and it’s almost worth watching simply for the absurdity of Oldman’s character, and the ludicrous relationships he has formed – but on balance we can’t recommend watching it. The first ten minutes let's say that the story tries to seduce you but after that the film dies.

This sci-fi thriller commits the worst and most common sin of the genre and is believing that its story is more intelligent and ambitious than it really is and if you add to that the protagonist's lackluster interpretation, what remains is one of the worst films of Netflix and another mess for the genre in their catalog.

Gary Oldman makes the film watchable, but the film is basically a mixture of Ex Machina and 10 Cloverfield Lane, making the film a mess.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the most absurd movies I've seen in recent times. The voice acting of the AI itself is lousy, and it shows that the developers did not know which direction to take the story. First we are shown how they capture the three and keep them locked up, after they escape for some reason they are killed except for the girl, and they force her to take an intelligence test for a reason that supposedly revolutionized humanity, although we are never told says what that reason is, and then they want to make us empathize with the AI of the house! Despite the fact that our protagonist at first hated her and all that, then she ends up crying and loving her in one of the most artificial and absurd ways I've ever seen in a movie. I just don't believe it. Everything in this movie is absurd and nothing makes sense. The best? I must say that I liked the design of the home and Tau, that's all.
Don't watch it, you've been warned.
