We've got a new cheap release to keep stuffing the catalog.''

It can be argued that some teens will find something that resonates for them or feels too close to home, but that's the shattering weakness of the story, because it's not about you feeling connected to the character for accepting herself, but finding your own insecurities and believing that these must define you as they defined her since the first movie, because her character can't go a damn moment without mentioning her height.
We know the story is called Tall Girl, and we can see it, we don't need the reminder.

This really looks like the narrative is telling the audience that they have things they can mold in order to project a confidence they probably don't feel and it's the best they can hope for to get through that stage of their lives.

How insulting is that?

I watched both of these withTall Girl 2 joins the masses of shovelware Netflix has on its catalogue. Netflix did not quite understand the ironic enjoyment behind the first movie's popular reception, so they thought a sequel was justified. I watched both of these with the mindset of popcorn entertainment, to be laughed at rather than with. However, the sequel is merely a continuation of the same beats heard in the first, and no joke is funnier with repetition. Tall Girl 2 seems to make strides in its writing during the first act, employing more vibrant colour and granting our characters the privilege of some ambition. However as characters begin to lose what I can only think is sanity with some of the decisions they make, the movie fails. Jan Luis Castellanos' character merely exists to provide another character like Stig from the first Tall Girl. His lack of emotion towards his girlfriend leaving him or even more considerable lack of interest in the stageplay the script revolves around can only lead me to the conclusion that he is, in fact, a sociopath. It is difficult to say which of the Tall Girl features is superior since they tread the same steps. Although, this time, every scene is mindlessly lit with blues and oranges. Expand

I haven't watched this movie but people think it's bad. Also it reminds me of my ex-wife.
