Unfortunately audiences never bit and this goofier version of From Dusk til Dawn barely made a ripple financially. That being said it's a wonderfully funny, intentionally trashy and entertaining horror flick along the lines of it's criminally underseen predecessor. Although not as good it's one hell of a fun time. The film centers around funnyman Dennis Miller (Net) as a cheap dick in search of a young woman trashy younger brother played by a douchey Corey Feldman (Lost Boys). It just so happens he went to a brothel that doubles as a funeral home run by a wonderfully campy Angie Everhart a.k.a Lillith the first vampire. Chris Sarandon (Fright Night), Erika Eleniak (Under Siege) and Phil Fonducaro (Ghoulies 2) also star in this ultra campy hidden guilty pleasure gem.

Therefore, it is material that people from the 80's already knew reasonably well, but which for us, after more than thirty years, is absolutely forgotten. It's understandable: black and horror comedies aren't for everyone.

In this film, everything takes place around a mortuary house that hides, inside, very discreetly, a large brothel that would delight the most perverted Roman emperor. One small drawback: the girls are all vampires and are eager to cut up customers and feast on their blood. It's a cliché movie, packed with all the vampire clichés we're used to seeing, and absolutely overloaded with female nudity scenes (never full nudity, but we've got a selection of perky butts and turgid breasts for no one to mess with) and, of course, lots of gore and fake blood and shredded flesh. Definitely a movie to avoid for an evening with her 84-year-old grandparents.

Is it surprising if I say that we don't have great actors here, risking their careers for such a piece of rubbish? In fact, and if we forget the inexplicable cameo by Whoopi Goldberg, which lasts no more than a few seconds, it is Corey Feldman who takes the lead and gives us a dramatic interpretation closer to the work of a professional. The film still has the interesting support of Chris Sarandon and Aubrey Morris, but that's it: to say that Angie Everhart, Dennis Miller or any of the other cast members did a poor and tolerable job is to be magnanimous.

The film bets all its chips on a huge selection of visual and special effects designed to turn the audience's guts upside down. It's something that, by the way, seems to permeate all the material coming from "Tales of the Crypt". The result is a relatively effective set of effects that make us think twice about popcorn. Comedy, however, doesn't always work, and the movie isn't scary enough to scare us.
