It was not a table of honour!

I thought it was some B movie. Expecting anything from it is like a total waste. But that was not the case. I was surprised how simple it was, yet very entertaining. Not all the small films like this would doIt was not a table of honour!

I thought it was some B movie. Expecting anything from it is like a total waste. But that was not the case. I was surprised how simple it was, yet very entertaining. Not all the small films like this would do the same magic. Everything in the was like I already seen in other films, even though I enjoyed it thoroughly.

It was a one-day event tale and in the backdrop of a wedding. In that, the film focused on one particular table, the table number 19 on the outskirt the dining hall. They all came from different background and never met before. They learn about each other, and their personal issues open up during the cerebration. Apart from that, they mess up a few things and later try to fix it, that all comes into play before it reaches the end.

From the director of 'Rocket Science', which came a decade ago, also starred by Anna Kendrick. I think he is a fine director, at least in small comedies with the good quality screenplay. So he should be doing more feature films than the television series. I was impressed by Kendrick. Her choices of films might not be the greatest, but she's almost there and very soon going to give a career best for sure. The remaining cast was funnily good.

I think this film deserves a sequel. Because the film characters are very distinctive and has left behind a lot about them which need to be revealed. Sequel or prequel, it does not matter, but I'll be surely looking for one. Look at its cost, just $5 million. Big production houses can give away such tiny amount without expecting any returns.

You might see it rated low everywhere, but for me, it is a good comedy. One of the best small budget films. Yeah, the end was very clichéd, but acceptable for such film. I would definitely suggest it for those who won't anticipate in films they watch. Particularly if you prefer simple storyline and a few laughs, it is the one.

Table 19 is the most inaccurately rated movie I've seen so far. I'm giving it a 9 because the ending wasn't perfect and seemed a little rushed. Also too many loose threads I agree with people saying there should be a sequel. I enjoyed everyTable 19 is the most inaccurately rated movie I've seen so far. I enjoyed every bit of the movie I did not want to miss a second, the humour was witty and the twists quite unpredictable the characters were spot on no over-acting or trying too hard to be funny. It's the most relaxing and refreshing movie I've watched in a long time. I will watch it again to pick up the rest of the funny bits I missed the first time.… Expand

Table 19 is a dream team of super lovable, super hero losers who are living incredbily messy lives and still have the courage to show up. One of the movie's messages is the old adage that 90% of life is just showing up. One of the movie's messages is the old adage that 90% of life is just showing up. I am so healed by the fact that Lisa Kudrow and Craig Robinson showed up in this film with incredible performances. That moment in the shower between these two actors should show up on someone's top 10 list of best onscreen kisses. Stephen Merchant is hilarious and believable as a daff ex-con on his first time free from the half way house and Jalapeño. This is another great film by the Duplass brothers. Disregard the critics and watch this film more than once (because there are fun facts and nuances that you miss the first time around) and pray that this dream team is reassembled for a sequel. This is definitely an underrated and underappreciated comedy. I loved it, and found that if I turned away for even a second I would end up missing something funny. Lots of really fantastic jokes and nuances, and at least one thread that didn't seem to finish quite right. I found this ridiculous, funny, heartwarming and redemptive. I love the setting - reminds me a bit too much of all the weddings I've been to - but also somewhat disconnected with some of the far fetched situations - and how the characters learn things far more intimate and personal than I think I've ever learned from anyone at a wedding. Loved the casting, it really did feel awkward to watch them. The script was fantastic :) I would watch this at least one or two more times to catch some of the little details again. Reminded me of some of the faster moving social comedies like Love & Friendship and The Importance of Being Earnest - any maybe in some ways this movie is a period piece too.… Expand

Some films are so endearing and fun that critics cannot wait to smear their purple pen venom all over it. Sometimes I cannot help but think most snobs are secret sadists and unless a filmmaker makes some complicated, incoherent, elitist, brow-beating masterpiece or yet another 'woke' film, most critics will say pass and throw words at films like Table 19 like 'tepid' or 'awkward' and complain about it being unfunny. But as Leonard Bernstein once noted, he'd been around the world many times and not once seen a monument or statue to a critic. Most of them don't even deserve a paper maché look-alike, being such humorless souls. For me, I say, you want a fun movie with a bunch of misfits to hang around with, here's your chance. Sure, it tips its cap to The Breakfast Club, but instead of high school detention we're at a wedding with a former maid of honor (Kendrick), a convict (Merchant), a horny teen (Revolori), a bickering couple (Kudrow and Robinson) and the former nanny to the bride (Squibb). The guests at Table 19, as you might guess, form to become an endearing and protective unit, a family throughout the course of the film where hijinks prevail but never feel forced. Each in their own turn, the characters reveal more of themselves, their strengths and weaknesses adding to the drama (again, yes, Breakfast Club-influence) and the more we watch, the more we want to spend time in this world with them. By film's end, there is redemption, some loss and hope. I chuckled, laughed, smiled, sighed and when the credits rolled by, I felt cheerier, happier. The film satisfies. But then again, I am not some New York elitist who prefers films that make people want to throw themselves in front of buses or convince someone to bring a knife into the bathroom and run the faucet. Table 19 is joyful, life-affirming, and the story is from the Duplass brothers. If you want something miserable, look elsewhere.… Expand
