The story is about Steve Brooks who is a role model for a chauvinist that changes his girlfriend like clothes never being attached to any of them. They are only good to entertain him and have sex before he gets bored and starts looking for his next plaything. However one day he is invited by 3 of his former lovers and lets say it ends not well. In the afterlife he is judged by God who does not like his life choices. Steve pleads to Gods forgiveness and a chance to redeem himself. He is given the chance, returns to life and has to find his soulmate aka true love. However the devil appears before God and says that this is no true redemption or even change of heart as Steve would just use his skills to simply charm a woman not changing anything. As it is undeniably the truth Steve gets a real challenge and is transformed into a woman named Amanda. So starts the story. I like that they handle a serious issue and have humor in a way that non harms the other for most parts. I have to admit that some things are missed opportunities and the later half was a bit to fast executed in my mind but the resolve was remarkably good. To be clear I can see other rate it as missed opportunity or bad movie. However it got me thinking about society, equal rights and behavior towards woman. This is always a sign of a good movie. Because it hits more than it misses for me I rate the story as good. The actors did an amazing job. Perry King nails the role as chauvinist Steve Brooks and Ellen Barkin as Amanda Brooks is amazingly good. I never doubted her acting as man trapped into a woman's body. Other than those Bruce Payne as the devil is amazing, Steves former nail also their roles and Jimmy Smits as Walter Stone rounds up the cast. Good performance and I see no missteps. The humor works well for most parts and I was entertained. Overall I see this as interesting hidden gem. Not an all time classic but definitely worth watching. An 8/10 is fair for me. Expand
