Every actor, including Cary ElwesSugar Mountain is a plodding, meandering, boring melodrama with a labyrinthine script. No, that is not a compliment. The performances are all over the place in terms of emotion, realism, and honesty. Every actor, including Cary Elwes disappointingly, seems to lazily over act every single line. The only good performance comes from Jason Momoa, who is surprisingly realistic and steals every scene he is in. The twists are stupid and uninspired. The camera work is shoddy at best, save for the sequence that was shot on a go-pro, which was shockingly competent. I hated every character by the end and didn't care for any of them, save Jason Momoa. This is a sub-par Netflix offering at best, and a bad Lifetime movie at worst. You can give this a skip unless you are a die hard Jason Momoa fan. Expand

Boring, forgettable, shoddily acted, and lazy are just some of the words I would use to describe Sugar Mountain. Too many twists and unlikable characters for my liking. Jason Momoa was cool though.
