freaking awesome. saw it with 2 other poeple we were all laughing our asses off. the other people in the theatre seemed to love it too. the NY Post obviously has 0 idea what they're talking about.

This movie is both bizarre and hilarious. I have never seen the series, but this film satirizes sex, race relations, religion and the extremely surreal experience of high school. Great writing and very funny characterizations.

While it may not be up to par with the TV series, it does generate laughs and is a far cry better than most summer comedies I've seen. Sedaris and Colbert really shine in this film. My rating is for those who have never seen the TV show. For avid fans of the cult series - such as myself - the rating would be about a 6. The film is full of great jokes and boasts a stellar cast, but a fan of the show would expect more. A My rating is for those who have never seen the TV show. A lot of the jokes are recycled - something I don't mind - but there aren't enough new ones. I also miss the overly dramatic music, of which there was very little. Regardless, I still own the dvd.
