I'm not going to over analyze this movie. If you're looking up a review you already know what NWA is.

The movie was released at the best possible time with all the current police brutality. Hip-Hop Heads will also appreciate the casting ofI'm not going to over analyze this movie. If you're looking up a review you already know what NWA is.

The movie was released at the best possible time with all the current police brutality. Hip-Hop Heads will also appreciate the casting of the movie, Dr.Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, MC Ren, Snoop Dogg 2pac, and even Eminem all show up in the movie. Like seriously the people they got for all of the NWA members were great. Aside from production they manage to tell their story very well with the very clear and obvious limitations and time constraints you have to a movie. The movie is a bit long though, I can't say exact time but I think probably 3 hours. The movie sends alot of mixed emotions, sometimes its sad, funny, serious, intense, etc.

I'm not a paid reviewer i'm just a hip hop fan but If you love old school rap you will love the movie. Hell I went to go see this movie with friends of mine that don't even listen to rap and they said they liked it. It was long due for this movie to come out as they said years ago there would be a movie. I'm not making this up either but when I went to see the movie I bought a soda and popcorn few hours later its the end of the movie and i forget i got a soda and popcorn.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. this is a really really really good movie! i had a ton of concerns mainly because i was not sure if the acting was going to work i was not sure how cover songs would work but it never was a disappointment. the acting was superb! these guys were crying yelling and were pissed off and i was sometimes forgetting that it was a movie um this movie is not for everyone ok its very sad its brutal and its going to make you fee really uncomfortable sometimes especially with the Rodney king part of the movie its not fun to watch but thats how it was intended and im glad this stuff was brought up they push it to the max here so they can explain what happened and how they became a non violent weapon against all of this crap that was going on in the city of Compton! now i have only one very small complaint being that this movie can only go on for so long meaning this huge story was crammed into 2 and a half hours one minute there broke dudes trying to make a point and half hour later there huge stars its way too fast. but this movie is so good it could be as much of a classic as the album straight outta compton and its worth every single cent.… Expand

Great movie and story-line. this movie was well written and acted. You will walk out of the theater satisfied trust me. I will not give any spoilers but the time line and life of each member was well written. I love Bio Picks and this oneGreat movie and story-line. this movie was well written and acted. Though a jumbled, and certainly not unprecedented biopic, Straight Outta Compton is a timely, potent, and most importantly, galvanizing watch that should prove engaging for hip-hop heads and the unconverted alike. It's melodramatic, overlong, definitely inaccurate, detrimentally indulgent, and edited so swiftly it leaves a feeling of wanton (the original cut was over 200 minutes long). But man, the performances, the music, the concert recreations, the legitimately harrowing storyline and it's intrinsically essential and historic quality is what makes Straight Outta Compton one of the better biopics in recent memory. It's certainly one of the most important films of the year.… Expand

I saw it at a Thursday Night Preview. This is going to be one of those instant classics. Five boyz from the hood, who knew they wanted to be successful, who were experimenting with music, and created something that was never heard before.I saw it at a Thursday Night Preview. Something that took off like wildfire, and they had no control over it's success. They went from a friends basement to the world stage in a few short years.
