It wasn't a bad movie, I did enjoy it at moments. I think it would have made a very good game, it's a shame that we haven't got a good first person shooter in the Starship Troopers universe. Wasted opportunity.

ST:ToM only has a few things wrong with it, like a jeuvenile script, amateurish dialogue, poor lip-syncing, bad facial and kinematic animations, and the fact that there is a high amount of contrast in the CGI assets used, especially theST:ToM only has a few things wrong with it, like a jeuvenile script, amateurish dialogue, poor lip-syncing, bad facial and kinematic animations, and the fact that there is a high amount of contrast in the CGI assets used, especially the characters. It may look better than Invasion but it is far from being a good film the characters (Except Johnny)are annoying and made me cringe everytime they are on the screen and this movie has the weirdest twist where Dizzy is actually Carl kissing Johnny when he was stuck on mars (sounds homosexual lol) the main villain motivation is weak blow up mars because we hate the hippies "WUT". Why does approval ratings are involved? There is one point to where the troops forgot how to use their jet-packs when they used it the WHOLE movie somehow they forgot to use it. There is a lot of repeated dialogue here and some really bad ones skip this movie. I'm surprised critics didn't rate this movie.… Expand

This is one of the best cinema, that i watch in this year. Very bright, very smart action film on everyday thematic. This film basing on original scenario, not connected with original cinema or with book. One of the best aspect on this film -This is one of the best cinema, that i watch in this year. Yeah, it's not the best, but at least it's very bright and you can see each element of equipment of the soldiers. It's really rare thing now (just check worst film of this year - Assassins Creed). Another good feature of this film - it's scenario. It's smart, very fast scenario about group of Space Marines, who are really kids. 10/10, recommending for everyone.… Expand

And this is exactly the same where the film succeeded. Under normal science fiction, I mean gorgeous display policy of a large interstellar Federation with her colonies. The personal ambitions of politicians. Ordinary soldiers dressed in fancy exoskeletons. A really decent weapon of the future, with its incredible firepower (and not just another M4 assault rifle which we try to pass off an assault rifle of the 23rd century). Natural war for the survival of the species, is sauce all of the above, and even without the extra snot. Creator of the film seemed to show us the deepest tragedy of the human species, with an eye of the average soldier, whose only task is to shoot the bugs with his gun.… Expand

Après l'excellent "Invasion", les spécialistes japonais du long-métrage d'animation reviennent en remettre une couche, une couche bien épaisse de Starship Troopers bien gras comme on les aime. A la fois hommage et adaptation, la productionAprès l'excellent "Invasion", les spécialistes japonais du long-métrage d'animation reviennent en remettre une couche, une couche bien épaisse de Starship Troopers bien gras comme on les aime. A la fois hommage et adaptation, la production nipponne (en collaboration avec les Américains) s'est pleinement appropriée la saga de Paul Verhoeven qui se retrouve choyée et comme un coq en pâte entre leurs mains.

L'image de synthèse est de qualité -sans être exceptionnelle certes-, l'action est spectaculaire et comme de coutume, Rico rempile toujours sur la brèche mais avec une escouade de bleubites cette fois... pour sauver Mars de la vermine parasite ! Carmen et Karl sont bien sûr de la fête mais de façon plus secondaire et néanmoins décisive. Le ton est donné d'emblée, toujours à la fois beauf et subtilement ironique avec même un complot à la clé et une touche volontiers nostalgique.

Le scénario n'est pas irréprochable cependant et abuse de quelques raccourcis faciles, tandis que le geek à lunettes de l'équipe ne se fait même pas couper en deux par un arachnide vénère, alors qu'il mériterait amplement de se faire éviscérer, vu qu'il porte un brin sur les nerfs du spectateur. Or le spectateur est par nature impitoyable, on le sait.

A part cela, rien que du bonheur de revoir notre infanterie mobile préférée, cette bande de bourrins et de chair fraîche pour le broyeur dans cette putain de "guerre éternelle".… Expand

Nothing new, but at least it does not have a poor quality.
Totally simple but it is a good animated film with it's fare share of action and for the fans it will be a good addition.

The action sequences were fun. and the slower parts built on the original characters lore. Maybe one day this will turn out like the original. which was also technically a bomb when it came out, it wasn't till years later that it became a 5* classic.… Expand

So I've been watching Starship Troopers lately, I've watched the Previous Invasion Movie, the 2 Live Action movies and Now this.

From what I understand Starship Troopers is an extremely difficult and hard franchise to create content for and These movies have shown me why.

Traitor Of mars is a more digestible sequel, the previous movie Invasion was just not as good in my opinion, it took me a while to get through it, but this with the context of the first CGI film is better.

However, this is still not a great film, in fact for a 2017 CGI film it's a bit dated.

I'm just going to go ahead and rate it, I think this is a 6/10, it is better, somewhat enjoyable, and sometimes good to look at.

The previous film is a 5/10 for me I think it's a little out of context, and just not fun to watch.

These CGI films are pretty much hit or miss for most people and frankly, it's understandable.

If you enjoyed the first better than this one, I completely understand, in fact, these scores are interchangeable.

Consider it a rating for both of the films.

Now if you're a new fan of Starship Troopers, should you watch these, hmmm? If you can endure some lame Dialogue, Plots and scenes, perhaps yes.

I think we need a new Live Action Starship Trooper Film, something to end the franchise in a good but continual way.
