By far the best Star Wars movie outside of the original trilogy. Luke's King Arthur journey is an amazing take on a well known character.

this is the best star wars movie since empire hands down. it has amazing cinematography, one of john willaims best scores in years, and a story that left me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie's biggest crime is that JJ Abrams didn't stick the landing in TROS. The creative risks worked for me. Kylo struggling with what he wants the whole movie for him to commit to being the villain was great. Visually stunning and emotional. Everything you want in a star wars movie. Expand

nce again, Star Wars: The Last Jedi manages to bring back everything that made its predecessor worth seeing. It was worth all the hype it deserves which makes it another one of the best of this year and the only movie with such a scorence again, Star Wars: The Last Jedi manages to bring back everything that made its predecessor worth seeing. It was worth all the hype it deserves which makes it another one of the best of this year and the only movie with such a score automatically makes this one of the best films of this year in my opinion. What makes this film truly deserves the score are the surprises it gives us. Like literally, they are completely unexpected and aren't forced onto the film unlike every other film that were released this year I see as a joke. To tell what it attempts to do is completely difficult to say in a couple of words because they keep changing as the film progresses to its end and I got to say, it was worth waiting for another great film of this year. It’s impressive how much better this movie is in comparison to the prequels yet people seem to think that the sequels are worse? This tries to have deep themes, change up the pattern and it actually have something to say.

Best entry in the sequel trilogy. Most of the negative votes here are bots or wacky politically motivated bots. Do yourself a favor and see this movie.

The best in the franchise since The Empire Strikes Back. Thematically dense and brilliantly written.

Love this movie. The Jedi’s greatest battle against the dark side is internal, and constant.

Because one side I see Rian Johnson shot a really good looking movie with a good enough story. And the other is he ruined home generation hero Luke Skywalker and kind of did bizarre things to characters in this movie. But right now, And I mean right NOW, I can see Rian's intentions for what he was trying to do. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is like a kombucha. It has a sharp taste in there somewhere, but it's still good, and very healthy. Acting is great. People complain about Rose, but I think she's a really good character. Her and Finn's side story could have been better, though. It could have been tweaked to have a bit more impact, as well as the fact that nothing really comes of it in the end. I mean, I guess Phasma dies... but really there isn't much outcome to that plotline. The rest of the movie is fantastic, though. The film subverts expectations in a careful way, being radically different to what we know, but in a way that, in my opinion, still feels incredibly respectful of what came before. (not like Rise of Skywalker's random shamble of ideas coalesced into a confusing mess of spectacle that retcons the plot of half the previous movies.) With fantastically written characters (Luke especially, fight me) and a phenomenal final act, it's a movie that, while I couldn't call it a masterpiece, is great. There is a strange feeling throughout, though, of a weird unenjoyable-ness relative to the movie's quality. Overall, great movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Going into this movie I had one wish, I thought "Please don't be a repeat of Episode V." The Force Awakens mirrored A New Hope, and while it made sense to reassure returning fans, and give any new fans a fantastic story to start with, it disappointed me a little how safe they played it. The Last Jedi took all the expectations I had going in and threw them out the window. Now most people are upset by this. They wanted all their questions answered more or less the way they were expecting. I feel the exact opposite, and yes I am a long time fan of ALL the previous movies, not that I should have to qualify my opinion with that. This movie was exhilarating. I can't remember the last time I turned to my friend in the theater with my mouth open in amazement because I'm so shocked about what just happened. It made the movie exciting, and the stakes higher, since I no longer felt completely sure about anything that was going to happen. Movies are ultimately just entertainment, and it certainly succeeded in that regard. The visuals, acting, spectacle, sound, etc was phenomenal. The entire scene in Snoke's throne room made me want to cheer. I enjoyed this movie the whole way through, and I am excited about what direction the new Star Wars will take in the future. For all the people who want to nitpick every detail and piece of lore, Star Wars doesn't belong to you. It doesn't even belong to George Lucas anymore. If you don't like the ideas of the people who work very hard and do their best to make the best movie they can then don't watch them, and leave the rest of us alone. Expand

The Last Jedi brought so many good things in this installment, including new characters, brand new backstories, and a direction that may inevitably impact future Star Wars movies in general. Since this film is directed by the guy that directed Looper and few episodes of my all-time favorite show Breaking Bad (Rian Johnson), has brought in a very unique approach that made this latest installment very mature than The Force Awakens. After seeing this film, I was blown away of how epic and surreal that movie has turned out to be when it comes to the action intensity, performances, and the sound mixing. This film is awesome compared to Empire Strikes Back, but not as masterful as The New Hope. And Disney.... please don't ruin Star Wars! Expand
