This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Revenge of the Sith has some shortcomings such as its occasional questionable dialogue, but it's just full of so many memorable and interesting parts. It's starts of with an amazing space battle and lightsaber duel. Then it moves on to some really interesting parts involving the Jedi council and the emperor and then it ends with the downfall of the Jedi and one of the most amazing duels I've ever seen in a movie. The memorable moments of this film makes it my favourite Star Wars movie alongside episode 5 and also makes it my favourite of the prequels. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is absolutely phenomenal, I can see if you prefer the original 3, because those 3 were all good, but I grew up on this trilogy, and I cannot stress how much I adore the prequels, Attack of the Clones I don’t really look at from a critical perspective, but it’s funny how bad that movie was, to the point where it became beautiful, overall, Revenge of the Sith leads directly ties the Original Trilogy to it, because everyone finds out who trained Darth Vader as a Jedi, who originally was Darth Vader, where did he come from, and it does this in a way that explains why Luke was practically the only Jedi left. And overall, this movie makes me blush, it’s **** beautiful. Expand

Have you heard the Review of Episode III, A wise and just review that takes the opinions of others, me and the overall Quality of the film?

Well, let me tell you this film is close it is by far one of the Best Star Wars films in the entire Franchise. So I give this film a 9/10.

For this to get a 10/10, it needed to fix one thing, and that is the Plot. Look the plot isn't bad it's just it almost hit the ceiling, but Not even George has the power to create a complete masterpiece...

Ok, I lied it's a 10/10, no Recent Star Wars can compare, everything from the music, the Dueling, the insane plot jumps, the acting, the emotion, the action scenes, EVERYTHING here is of the highest quality and what I expect of Star Wars film.

The Prequal Trilogy especially this film is like Space Opera With action and instead of loud singing, you have the best Star Wars music ever composed by the mastermind John Williams.

This film is the Stuff of legends Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen did an exceptionally challenging amazing Job.

If you haven't watched this and you are a Star Wars Fan, If you are a Star Wars Fan and Disliked this, then I'm Sorry.
You were meant to love this film, not hate it.

Again, the memes here are strong with this one.

George, where ever you are, just know that Disney Right now destroying the franchise you built, the last 3 mainline films are despicable, Star Wars Can be so much more but they refuse to see it. If I ever get the opportunity, My duty will be to fix what Disney, Kathleen Kennedy and the executives have done. It will be a lot of work, and while Disney has put out some good Star Wars content it is not enough, and by enough I mean Quality.

There will be a New Hope one day, hell maybe Disney might Strike back, but there will always be the Return of the Jedi.

This film is like the incarnation of the word "epic". The final fight scene is among the best ever created, filled with epic dialogues, awesome music composed by Mr. Williams and a fight with speed, power and energy. That's how a fight is supposed to be. And yet the film has more to offer than just action. It has a very dark atmosphere and a quite deep story for an action movie. Palpatine's corruption is well written and you even can see the movie as a metaphor to our real life in a few ways. This movie is just one of the best movies ever made, and it's even better than the original Star Wars a new hope. Why? Because it grew up, it's not just about good vs. uberevil, but it's a story of the chosen one, Anakin, who falls to the dark side because of love, and you can see what people are willing to do because of love. Tragic story and awesome movie, hands down. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The most underrated star wars film. this is 100% in my top 3. getting to explore the origin of darth vader through such a wonderful movie is an incredible experience. this is the movie that made me like star wars. and let me explain why:

when I was like 10-11 or something, I saw a new hope. I hated it (at the time, I love it now. it's my favorite star wars movie) I was not interested in watching any more star wars. it was only years later when I finally decided to give it another shot. And I saw episodes 1 and 2, and they were fine. but then watching this movie and seeing the battle of mustafar had me on the edge of my seat. This is currently the only movie I can remember that actually brought me to tears. some movies get very close, but this was the only one to break me. Now I am a massive star wars fan and it is all because of this movie. thank you george lucas for this masterpiece

As a longtime fan of the Star Wars series, having seen all of the films, I have a unique perspective on the saga's various twists and turns. It's from this vantage point that I approach "Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith," a filmAs a longtime fan of the Star Wars series, having seen all of the films, I have a unique perspective on the saga's various twists and turns. It's from this vantage point that I approach "Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith," a film that I believe captures the essence of the original trilogy while offering something unique and profound.

The film starts with a philosophical note, portraying good and bad on both sides of the force, something that no other Star Wars movie has managed to achieve. The battle between Anakin and Dooku is a standout scene, masterfully capturing human aggression and pride, and the timeless theme of youth overtaking age.

Palpatine's character is nothing short of bone-chilling. A hegemonic dictator who plays all sides, his manipulation tactics are unparalleled within the Star Wars universe. Hayden Christensen's acting might not be considered top-tier, but in this film, it's not only forgivable but enhances his character's depth. Anakin's uncertainty and restraint in dialogue make his portrayal even more realistic.

General Grievous is a thrilling villain, adding further intrigue and excitement. Anakin's descent into the dark side is portrayed with such finesse that it can be considered an unsung masterpiece. While I am not a fan of Episodes I and II or the films that came after "Revenge of the Sith," this movie successfully captures that old saga energy.

Contrary to the stereotype that this film is inferior to the originals, I believe it stands strong. The final battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan is the best lightsaber duel in the entire franchise, while Yoda and Palpatine's duel is also noteworthy. Padmé's performance is far more authentic in this film, and the romance feels real and grounded, unlike in Episode II.

Overall, "Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith" is a triumph. It retains the spirit of the original trilogy while adding new layers of complexity and emotion. I would rate this as the best Star Wars movie or at the very least, the best one outside the original saga. It's a film that should not be dismissed and deserves its place in the spotlight within the iconic series.

Finally you must A True Gem in the Star Wars Universe Viewing the saga through the eyes of a Star Wars fan, I have rated this movie based on many factors. First you must understand the story. Second, you must understand the entertainment. Finally you must understand the message. The story seems to blend and transition well into Episode 4: A New Hope. Never before (in my opinion) has a SW movie been so entertaining. I truly was overwhelmed witnessing the final movie fold open before my eyes. Not only were the graphics/Visual Effects truly beyond their time, but the whole movie in general had humor and scenes of battle that entertained me to the very core. Finally, the message that this movie brought was unlike any other. A message of hope. A message of integrity. A message of honor and duty to ones beliefs. A message of redemption to come, which Lucas seems to implement at the end of every episode. The only downside I saw to this movie were perhaps 3 lines quoted by Hayden (Anakin Skywalker) that I felt were slightly childish and untalented. However, actors make mistakes, and these mistakes I am speaking of weren't even worth saying more than I already have. They were minor. Overall he played an amazing roll in the transition towards Darth Vader. I give this movie a 9.4/10, feeling slightly unique compared to the many other reviewers who have reviewed this movie based on the common "review methods" instead of reviewing it as a "star wars movie." Thank you again George Lucas. And Metacritic as well, for allowing me tp voice my opinion. Expand

You say you've been let down by Lucas time and time again, yet you still give him money to see his movies. If what you're saying is true, you really don't stand for your beliefs. The bottom line is: if you weren't a Starwars fan going into Episode III, you really didn't have any business being there in the first place. If you're like me, grew up with the films, and actually hold some things sacred, this movie gave you everything you wanted to see and more. If you went into this movie expecting good acting......well i just don't know what to tell you. To be honest, this movie could have been a lot worse and I still would have enjoyed it. After all, I'm a StarWars fan. However, it wasn't. It was a rich story changing pace as it went and considering it was the end of a 6 episode trilogy, I'd say it wrapped everything up nicely. If you've been waiting since your childhood to see the Emperor fight Yoda, the birth of Luke Skywalker, and the first breath of Darth Vader, you've come to the right place. If you're looking to bash George Lucas which is what some people set out to do long ago, save your money and just say what you said about the last two. No one's listening anyway. Expand

It blows away just about every modern movie in the specialGeorge Lucas caps off the prequel trilogy with a stunning finale. One brimming with spectacle, excitement, and emotion. Even now in 2016 this is still a phenomenal looking movie. It blows away just about every modern movie in the special effects department. The world of Star Wars has never looked more alive.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, George Lucas can craft an action scene like no other. The fights here are probably his best work. They're intense, powerful, and incredible to behold. Whether it's an all out war or a more personal one-on-one duel, Lucas delivers on all fronts. The action is a sight to behold.

So how's that writing? For starters Lucas gives the "romantic" dialog from Attack of the Clones a lot of much needed improvement. There's no cringe worthy dialog shared between Anakin and Padme here (some goofier lines are present, but incredibly rare). Not only that, but the politics so many hated listening too in the previous two movies of the prequel trilogy have once again been mercifully toned down. Without going into too much detail let me just say that everything that needed to be done to tie up the trilogy before moving into A New Hope has been handled masterfully.

This is an emotional, powerful ending that gives more depth to the original Star Wars films in ways I won't dare spoil. On top of all that, the movie is just really darn funny. The chemistry between McGregor (Obi-Wan) and Christensen (Anakin) is great. The relationship between the two characters is expanded upon and they have tons of dialog together that really only two close individuals could have. I leads to quite a few laughs. That's not to say those two are the only sources of humor. Lucas has provided many amusing moments throughout the course of the film. At least until it's time for things to get serious.

Diving a little bit deeper into Christensen's role as Anakin, I can thankfully say that actor has upped his game. Gone is the wooden, awkward performance from Episode II. He gives a respectable performance here and really does the character justice. Part of that is also due to improved writing for the character. The same can be said for the rest of the cast as well.

It's an exciting, emotion, dark, and enchanting close to the prequel trilogy. Lucas pulled out all of the stops to deliver a finale that could please even the most devoted prequel hater. Everything is wrapped up and we get the conclusion we deserve. Only a few minor quibbles here and there keep it from reaching perfection. I was amazed all the way though.

9.9/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After the rocky start the prequel trilogy found home and gave us a satisfying conclusion to the Anakin trilogy. While you knew what would happen you still wish things could have been different since you have gotten to know all the characters. There is only really one problem I have with this movie and that is the way Anakin finally falls to the darkside by accidently killing a Jedi. Things really goes from 0 to 100 after that. But maybe that was the point? Maybe George Lucas wanted us to see Anakin as someone who didn't actually want to join the darkside and trapped by one really bad mistake, as an explanation why he still has some good in him that Luke later can find. Even if him killing children feels kinda strange since he so strongly believed in justice. It always felt like it was suppose to take much longer for him to get that far. But then again, this is fantasy and the darkside corrupts really fast. We have seen before that going darkside makes you really dark really fast and turning back to the light goes just as fast. At least, Lucas fulfills his promise of making a film that 'replicates' the spark of the original trilogy. Nevertheless, something is always missing. The problem lies with Lucas himself. He is more of a great businessman / producer than a director. He pays more attention to his CGI creations than his actors. That's why 'younger' directors such as James Cameron and Peter Jackson have exceeded him at this point. They always bring the 'best' from their actors, making their blockbusters more emotionally resonant. AVATAR has a very simple storyline for instance, but it works because of its actors (and golly gee, they're not even A listers). Revenge of the Sith works in some way because of the nostalgia factor. But it never, ever reach the same heights achieved by the original three. Expand

Those events helped conclude the Star Wars saga and make room for a New Hope. Besides, even The Empire Strikes Back had a cliffhanging ending that left room for a sequel and George Lucas finally regained his touch with intelligent writing to conclude the saga that has suspenseful moments, the acting is less flawed, and the visual effects are less overrated. It also has the best lightsaber-dueling action out of all six movies. This movie rules! Stop hating this movie you Revenge of the Sith Haters, it got the job well done to conclude the saga and it was intelligently written and featured great action compared to the originals. And for the record, It's not a bad comparison to The Empire Strikes Back since they share some of the same themes. But what's flawed is the script was a bit thin. Thanks to Hayden Christensen's improved physical and emotional features, he's very strong at his script when he becomes Darth Vader and he is very good at his Dark-Sided anger and rage which elements his emotions with the Dark Side of the Force and in my opinion, it also gives him a flawless performance to reveal his inner Dark Side. If your in for something thrilling from Star Wars, you could watch this over and over again. So people, Revenge of the Sith is not horrible or whatever you say it is, the battle sequences and the angry lightsaber duels and are all emphasized by it's dark themes, raging tension, the dangers of the Clone Wars, and what villainous people the Sith TRULY are. In fact, the scenes of Jedi being betrayed and killed by Clone Troopers and the angry lightsaber duels is an emphasis of it's raging tension. Anakin being surrounded by the dark side of the force until he becomes Darth Vader emphasizes the dark themes and shows he is truly the Dark Lord of the Sith (As Darth Vader of course). The explosive and very intense battle sequences and lightsabers emphasize the raging tension of the Clone Wars. As soon as Emperor Palpatine overthrows the Republic and turns it into the Empire along with turning Clones against Jedi after he manipulates Anakin into the Dark Side as Darth Sidious, that emphasizes what villainous people the Sith truly are and it eventually emphasizes what an evil Sith Lord Anakin is as Darth Vader. Now that's well-written character development. Powerful storytelling of a conclusion to the saga, it was. Revenge of the Sith reminds us what made The Empire Strikes Back so good: The great dark themes and Jedi-vs-Sith suspense that developed the characters. It serves greatly as a prequel to the originals. The intelligent writing also gave it some suspenseful entertainment. Revenge of the Sith shows how "great" the conclusion to the saga was. And by great, I mean like World War II was one of the greatest wars that ever occurred. It also shows why Darth Vader is one of the greatest Sith Lords ever. It was all powerful storytelling! To all you Revenge of the Sith haters, this movie is not horrible, it's a well done prequel that completes the saga's character development of Anakin/Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, Padme, and the Emperor, so here is some advice: See it as a piece of Star Wars history that teaches what ended the Clone Wars and started A New Hope, like watching a piece of mythology about good and evil because the Jedi and Sith were inspired from mythology so it is very similar to that. As watching it as a piece of Star Wars history, it engaged me, but if you hate this, well I am sorry to admit that is just sad because I mean come on, George Lucas finally succeeded in regaining his touch and it helped this prequel recapture elements and themes of the originals that made the originals classics along with the intelligent writing. Besides, now he has finally taken a Star Wars prequel seriously and Jar Jar Binks isn't such an annoying hindrance anymore. Being a prequel, and the best of the three, Revenge of the Sith absolutely succeeds. Expand

Still not quite as good as any in the original trilogy mainly due to the dialog not being as good as those, but this one has a good story. It is very dark and exciting watching how Senator Palpatine becomes the Emporer and how Anakin Skywalker is slowly transformed into the Darth Vader we know from the original trilogy. Expand

I have finally watched all six films in preparation for The Force Awakens which I eagerly await with my pre-ordered tickets. Revenge of the Sith is undoubtedly my favorite of the prequels and my second favorite overall, behind The Empire Strikes Back; I was surprised by how much they stepped up their game and ended the trilogy in a darker, more emotional way. In Revenge of the Sith, the Jedi Knights are spread out all over the galaxy leading a massive clone army against the Separatists. Obi-Wan Kenobi is sent to kill the leader of the Separatist Army, General Grievous. Meanwhile, Anakin Skywalker becomes closer to Chancellor Palpatine who is secretly a Sith Lord and eventually leads Anakin to yield to the dark side of the Force and become Darth Vader. Although Anakin's transition to the dark side was only foreshadowed in Attack of the Clones, it is a major theme in this movie and gives the film much more dramatic depth to explore. Watching his mind wawrp into that of an eventual Sith Lord is almost tragic in context with the rest of the trilogy, and it makes Episode III the most emotionally driven prequel. Hayden Christensen's acting is still questionable as ever, which I blame on poor writing. He has great facial expressions and body language, but the material he has to work with is dreadful at times. Even then, Revenge of the Sith is still a wholly satisfying and terrific ending to the prequel trilogy. From its memorable opening action sequence to the final scene showing Darth Vader's construction, Revenge of the Sith is a thrilling and impressive conclusion to the trilogy. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't know what happened but George Lucas really went back to making incredible movies. Star Wars: Episode III is easily the best prequel and the fourth best movie in the entire saga. While this movie had some bad acting from Hayden Christensen (But he wasn't terrible) and some of the worst love scenes I have ever seen with Anakin and Padme it was still really good.

Star Wars: Episode III mainly focuses on two Jedis named Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Anakin is Obi-Wan's apprentice as Obi-Wan has taught him ever since he was a teenager and has been with him most of his life, excluding his first 10 years. A man named Emperor Palpatine converts Anakin into a Sith as he says it will save Padme (His pregnant girlfriend) from dying after childbirth due to Anakin's powers. After converting Anakin, he executes an order called Order 66 where all the Clone Troopers betray the Jedi and murder them without hesitation. After being converted to the dark side, Anakin kills many Jedis and fights with his master at the end. After having his legs and arms chopped off at the end of his duel with Obi-Wan and getting burnt in lava, he has to wear a special made suit which finishes his conversion into becoming Darth Vader.

Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan) does an amazing job at acting. He is easily the best actor, he somehow managed to read some bad lines and make them not seem terrible. Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) on the other hand, was pretty bad. He wasn't terrible but his lack of emotion destroyed the amazing character of Anakin Skywalker although he can be whiny and annoying at certain times.

The story of this film is easily the darkest that was made in the entire prequel with Return of The Jedi being second. The reason that this movie was incredibly dark is Anakin's transformation into the dark side as it's story is tragic and the scenes are intense such as Order 66, the final duel with Obi-Wan, murdering the younglings (What the hell?) and putting on the Vader suit.

The lightsaber fights in this movie were truly amazing. While the original trilogies had emotional lightsaber fights, the prequels had great looking ones but they lacked emotion. Star Wars: Episode III had both, it had plenty of emotion with the biggest example being the final duel with Obi-Wan and looked incredible with amazing choreography.

The CGI in this movie was over-used but better than all the other prequels. It looked realistic although it was still over used in many places. I can understand Mustafar being completely CGI though, as it would be impossible to have a lava-filled landscape using practical effects.

Overall, Star Wars: Episode III is the best prequel film, and the 4th best in the saga. You should watch it if you are a fan of Star Wars but if you are not, you might not completely enjoy it. If you are watching this with the family, some kids might find some scenes too intense and graphic such as the final duel with Obi-Wan, the younglings slaughter and the immolation of Anakin Skywalker.

Say what you will about the other prequels (even though I still like them), but you can't bash Revenge of the Sith (I mean, you can but you shouldn't)! Are there some dumb parts? Yeah, like the part where Mace Windu fights Palpatine and the other three guys get killed in a few seconds. However, this movie, as a whole, is superb. The CGI and fight scenes are excellent. It's easily the most action-packed Star Wars and serves well as both a finale and connecting tissue. It's the tale of Anakin officially committing to the dark side and the fall of the Jedi order (it's appropriately tragic. The best part: Anakin vs. Obi-Wan on Mustafar. This is easily one of the best ights in the saga (if not the best)! Honestly, I enjoyed this movie as much as the original films if not slightly more! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. star wars revenge of the sith is the of the prequel that is watchible. I don't understand all the hate for this film. Maybe it is because of the Phantom menace and attack of the clones being so bad. I do admit it has some awkward moments in the acting, but I can forgive that as it has very few. The best thing about this film is the lightsaber fights, and they are epic. Plus it also gives us the birth of darth vader, and luke and leia. Its has been said to kinda have an emotional black hole, but that is not true as Anakin turning to the dark side made obi-wan very sad, yoda falls to the ground as he senses all of the jedi dying. I also love how Jar Jar is only in one scene of the movie, and has doesn't speak a word, which is the second best part because I hate Jar Jar. Directed and written by George Lucas, it has the participation of Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson and Ian McDiarmid, among other actors.

This is the last film in the second trilogy and, therefore, binds directly to the original film of the first one. The script is good and establishes this connection in an interesting and credible way. The actors performance wasn't very good and this is, perhaps, one of the worst elements of the film. Natalie Portman disappointed, with a dull interpretation, as Hayden Christensen, who achieved a poor and too theatrical performance. On the other hand, Ian McDiarmid knew how to surprise and gave his character a huge dose of cruelty and coldness, capable of raising the skin of any audience. The special visual and sound effects were perfect. The costumes, make-up and scenarios didn't disillusioned Star Wars fans. Thus, Star Wars ended his second trilogy of a fruitful and positive way, up to the early films of the saga, and the wishes of the public.

Best of the prequels. Good movie. This is almost as good a finale as the first two movies could have had, as Lucasfilm sort of set this trilogy up for disaster.

Long mais excellent. Le film avec les mèmes les plus connus et utilisés. John Williams était au top dans ce film. Les chorégraphies des duels de sabres sont bien mieux que dans le 2. La conclusion parfaite pour la prélogie.

Points positifs:

The action is the best of any of the Star Wars films. The soundtrack is amazing. One of John Williams finest soundtracks yet! What this movie does it is the connection between the prequels and the original trilogy. What I found is The closer that you get to the end the more it feels like the original trilogy ( a warm nostalgic feeling). I do have a problem with the dialogue in the prequel’s it is very corny. And feels out of place. This makes me miss the days of George Lucas running Star Wars It is a must see Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Revenge of the Sith is by far the best film of the prequel trilogy. The plot, story, action, characters are all much improved over The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. While still not as good as the original trilogy, it matches The Force Awakens and it is far better than The Last Jedi. Watching Revenge of the Sith kept me hooked the entire time, with the final lightsaber duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan being the greatest ligthsaber fight in the franchise. I enjoyed most scenes of the film from beginning to end, with a notable exception being Obi-Wan's fight with General Grevious. Highly recommend for those disappointed with Eps. 1and 2. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Revenge Of The Sith, where do I begin, the cast are way better than they were in Attack Of The Clones and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is way better in this one. The reasons on why he's better is due to him having better dialogue which works well and it's quite a small thing but his facial expressions when he's taking with other characters show him to be quite an angry and annoyed character, not really shown as the whiny brat he was in Episode 2. Also, the fight scenes here are very fun and engaging not like the ones in Attack Of Clones, we get to meet some new villains and witness some brilliant fight scenes with them. Honestly, my favourite fight scenes throughout this movie would have to be the one where it's General Grevious Vs Obi-Wan Kenobi and the final fight scene where it's Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) vs Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) those fight scenes are always amazing to watch. Finally, the Revenge Of The Sith has got an amazing plot with a brilliant ending which links up perfectly to A New Hope. Overall, I'd honestly say this is my favourite prequel and it might be one of my favourite Star Wars movies, it's honesty worth the watch. Expand

Action-packed and the best of the prequel trilogy. The duels a bit lengthy and dialogue is somewhat appalling. My favourite film in the Star Wars franchise

We find out what happened to the Jedi and it all ties together to the Original Trilogy. The fight scene between Obi-Wan and Anakin is amazing, you were the chosen one.

I debated putting this movie this high, but there's just so many terrible lines and moments in this movie that it just makes me laugh every time. This is rated so high because it's bad, not good, keep that in mind.
