This is the best Star Wars episode created by Geroge Lucas, though, a few improvements could not even be made. Oh, and the book of this novel. I could not put it down. The graphics of Revenge of the Sith are same as the ones today, as it was made in 2005. The audio was the best yet on the Star Wars movies. I like the bit where the Order 66 is called to the clones and while the Jedi Knights battle Sidious. Expand

Now i understand that episodes I and II weren't up to snuff, to put it softly, but, to say that the second trilogy had little or no plot or character development, is to discredit yourself of all intelligence. Anakin begins in epsiode one as a boy, wanting to do good. As he gets older, he becomes disillusioned with how the jedi council is treating him; he thinks he deserves more, and instead of keeping him from turing, they only make it worse. There is no need for breaking ANakin, because he is already broken. He wants his love to survive, but he knows she might not. Since he trusts Palpatine, he belives in his words, that there may be a way to save her. He's not bad, his misguided, and to say that is not true plot or character development, is just crazy! Expand

This film is like the incarnation of the word "epic". The final fight scene is among the best ever created, filled with epic dialogues, awesome music composed by Mr. Williams and a fight with speed, power and energy. That's how a fight is supposed to be. And yet the film has more to offer than just action. It has a very dark atmosphere and a quite deep story for an action movie. Palpatine's corruption is well written and you even can see the movie as a metaphor to our real life in a few ways. This movie is just one of the best movies ever made, and it's even better than the original Star Wars a new hope. Why? Because it grew up, it's not just about good vs. uberevil, but it's a story of the chosen one, Anakin, who falls to the dark side because of love, and you can see what people are willing to do because of love. Tragic story and awesome movie, hands down. Expand

But I've seen ROTS twice now, and trust me -- this movie is the REAL DEAL! It is the most emotionally stirring, action-packed Star Wars movie, period. The acting was also surprisingly good, for a SW movie. I came in with very low expectations, having hated the first two prequels, and left completely astonished at how good this movie actually was. Revenge of the Sith: The most emotionally powerful, dramatic and visually stunning. In my opinion, best acted, written and directed of the Saga. I love every moment. The first 25min. is such a rush. R2-D2 rocked, the three way fight with Dooku, Star Wars at it's finest. Grievous is just awesome! 9 times , I've seen this film, the most I've ever seen one film at the movies, 9 times my heart shot up my throat hearing that painful cry when Anakin realizes he lost everything he loved, by his own hand at that. That cry sent a shiver up my spine every single time I heard it. Order 66. The Anakin/Obi-Wan duel, exciting, heart wrenching. This film is, for lack of a better word, BRILLIANT! It was everything I could have hoped for in a Star Wars movie, hell any movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Utapau is rocky and barren, like Tatooine and Geonosis, but the sinkholes make it distinguishable from the other planets that are of arid climate. Mustafar is one of the most unique planets in the saga, being a volcanic hotbed of fire, not only setting the stage of the final battle, but representing the psychological state of one of the main characters. The opening sequence is amazing; I felt like I was being whisked through a massive space battle-this was an amazing feeling. The additional CGI action sequences also look very good. Complimenting these battles are 5 lightsaber duels-the most in an individual Star Wars episode. Each features its own intriguing and interesting aspects, but, of course, the most iconic is the duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader on Mustafar. The duel's combatants are both lightning fast-in fact, the duelists are the fastest in lightsaber use than any other duel in the saga-not only that, but the duel takes place in the most hazardous environment, which increases the tension. The emotional impact of the duel cannot be overstated; best friends/brothers fighting each other is undeniably a tragedy. Speaking of which, Anakin is the tragic/fallen hero in the film, while Palpatine is a devious mastermind who acts as a twisted father figure to Anakin. Obi-Wan, meanwhile, completes his transition from a High Jedi General-a commander in the Grand Army of the Republic, and a Jedi Master-to a hermit on Tatooine. Finally, the children of Anakin and Padmé are born, symbolizing the birth of hope. George Lucas' writing is still very good; the scene where Palpatine declares himself Galactic Emperor is one of the most chilling moments ever in a non-horror movie. The interactions between characters are well-done, and the dialogue makes sense, in those scenes. Episode III is the most tragic film of the saga-that is undeniable. The feeling of impending doom during the first half of the film is nearly palpable. When the second half begins, so does all the tragedy. I really felt for the 3 main characters as their worlds came undone around them, especially Anakin-during the entire prequel trilogy, he endures so much hardship and loss; he, in my opinion, is one of the most tragic protagonists in film history. Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is an immensely satisfying conclusion to the prequel trilogy-the first half of the Star Wars saga-and perfectly sets up the original trilogy. What more could a Star Wars fan ask for? Expand

I really liked it and I also think it's superior to the original one, although most people disagree. Episode III was epic and showed us Anakin's fall to the dark side perfectcly with excelent action scenes and special efects. I know that the dialogue scenes are quite boring, but is very better than the ones in Episodes I and II. The characters are good and the vilains are perfect (Lord Sidious is cruel and intelligent as a true Lord Sith must be and the rise of Darth Vader and the Jedi massacre is one of the best moments I ever saw in movie history). The lightsaber battles are intense, especially the final battle between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. The final dialogue between Anakin and his old master is incredible, and Ewan MacGreggor does an excelent work showing Obi-Wan's pain when he cuts Darth Vader's legs and arm.

SKIP TO THE END FOR REVIEW SUMMARY.

Revenge of the Sith is the final installment in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. It, without a doubt, certainly with out with a bang. The movie follows Anakin Skywalker's descent to the Dark Side and transformation into the Dark Side. Surprisingly, the movie is able to make Anakin a relatable character by making him turn to the Dark Side out of sheer desperation and powerlessness to save his wife, Padmé. In the words of director George Lucas, "you can't have a monster turning into a monster. That's not a story." Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Ian McDiarmid as the cunning Palpatine definitely turn in the standout performances of the film. Every scene with both of them is great!

The action and visual effects in the movie are, no question, the best in the saga. The movie starts off spectacularly with an epic space battle and ends with an intense lightsaber battle in which the characters are surrounded by fire. The sweeping shots of the city-planet Coruscant and other locales really elevate the cinematography of the film as well. That's not to say the movie isn't without its character moments. The scenes between Palpatine and Anakin and Anakin and Padmé help make the film's climax even more emotional than it would've been.

Time has definitely been kind to the darkest chapter of the Star Wars saga. In my opinion, it's the best film in the series and it's really not a contest.

Review was redone ahead of The Last Jedi.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Easily my favorite Star Wars in the series. The amount of emotion you have in this movie between Anakin and Obi Wan, and the ramifications of every action is felt the whole way through. This movie blends together great lightsaber fighting, a good story, and amazing characters. To think of how powerful Vader would have been had he not lost the duel to Obi Wan, alone is enough to make this movie a 10/10.

If you like action, swordplay, or just all around good space opera, this is the movie for you.

The main problem with the Star Wars prequels are that they have a pretty surprising lack of Palpatine who by all respects is the main villain. This one brings him right to the forefront, no longer is he scheming he's now putting his plan into action. Palpatine is unarguably the best character in the saga and when this new movie comes out I just know it'll be hurt by his absence, that is assuming he's not controlling Supreme Leader Snoke. But enough about the upcoming movie, there's a great scene about halfway through where Mace Windu confronts Palpatine saying that the senate will decide his fate, Palpatine clears his throat and says "I AM THE SENATE", then he does a good spinning trick and lets out the most terrifying sound I've heard outside a horror film. Apparently the actor Ian McDiarmid (hugely underrated actor by the way) wasn't meant to scream out like he did but he improvised that brilliant screech and when you hear it you really feel the power of the dark side. You see moments like this are what make Star Wars. Oh and Anakin and Obi-Wan fight on a volcano planet, it's cool because they fight for like a whole hour its so tense and it's so dense. Expand

The humour, the use of characters, even basic narrative structure. Every single creative decision, big and small, felt wrong, to me. Every part of this film is the opposite of what I find dramatically satisfying. It left me feeling somehow empty. Without hope for the future. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Definitely the best of the prequels, and honestly my favorite in the entire saga. This film really shines and has so many great moments. This may very well be the most underrated film ever since there is too much hate directed towards it just because it is associated with the other two films. I love this movie. Seeing the fall of Anakin Skywalker is well seen and I definitely understood the fall. Hayden Christensen did a fantastic job and even though he had a few moments that were unnecessary or rushed, he definitely wasn't bad and I can't understand why people have a problem with his performance. Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor also did very well at portraying their respective characters.. This film is a must see and I would recommend it to anyone who loves tragedy and sic fi. Revenge of the Sith is truly a worthy Star Wars film. Expand

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. The dark side of the force has consumed you. One of the most difficult episodes of the space saga. Betrayal, death, torment and drama. At the same time, the lightsaber fights are very beautifully staged.

The story is intriguing, emotionally resonant and linked with the original trilogy, the dialogue is much better, Hayden's bland and emotionless acting works as he turns in Vader and for once you feel involved and that the stakes are high. The SFX are also improved and still look decent today. A surprisingly more than satisfying ending for the prequels trilogy. Expand

When Star Wars first hit the cinemas in 1977 the reason it got the amout of hype was because its story and directing stlye was revolutionary for the time and greatly shaped modern hollywood. But in a world where the "Star Wars Formula" is commonly used and further developed Ep 4-6 wouldnt be interesting anymore. The setting "Bad Guys have the power and Good Guys rebell to gain it back" was heavily used in the last 40 years, Star Wars would still be its origin, but that alone wouldnt make it fun to watch. What it lacked was a background, HOW did the bad guys come to power. And ROTS gets into that perfectly. The chancellor manipulating the corrupt republic (based on a war in which he led both ends) and especically the most promising force user in history in the way Ian McDiarmid plays it, is amazing to watch and fills a huge gap in the history of Star Wars, this movie in particular but also the other Prequels are the reason Star Wars is still relevant nowerdays.
Must watch, 10/10, one of my favorite movies all time and my favorite Star Wars movie!

The acting and Dialogue were much better in this film than in the previous two. This contained 5 great lightsaber duels which is the most we have ever seen out of any Star Wars movie. The plot is simple, easy to understand, and very emotional. It's hard to walk out of the theaters from this movie and not feel as if this movie hit you hard in the feels. watching Anakin turn to the dark side, execution of Order 66 are some of the scenes Star Wars fans will never forget. Not to mention this movie also has the best music in the entire franchise composed by John Williams. An that's not all, the Anakin & Obi-Wan duel is the best in the entire franchise. Meanwhile Yoda vs the Emperor was a battle Star Wars fans dreamed of and George Lucas made it real. The ending hits you hard in the feels, and ends with the beautiful view of tatooine sunset. This movie was everything any Star Wars fan would have hoped for. An amazing way to end what was a flawed prequel trilogy, well done George Lucas. Expand

The romance scenes are a lot better and don’t feel forced. The plot is consistent, face paced, and entertaining. Unlike in Attack of the Clones, I never felt bored watching this movie. It’s full of action, suspense, and emotions.

Watching how the Republic fell and Anakin’s turn to the dark side were amazing and finally gave context to the OT. Ian McDiarmid is amazing as Palpatine, especially in scenes like Order 66 and the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise. Hayden Christensen got a lot better and portrays Anakin excellently as a young adult confused with emotions he has been forced to hold back until they finally erupt inside of him and fuel his turn to darkness. Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman are gems as usual. The scene between Obi Wan and Anakin on Mustafar has to be one of the greatest scenes in movie history. “I HATE YOU!!!!!”
“You were my brother Anakin... I loved you...”
Both actors did that scene perfectly. The emotions were passionate and real. Seriously, if you are a Star Wars fan and haven’t seen this movie, go see it. It saved the prequels after the disaster that was AotC. This movie is up there with Empire. 10/10 for me. There are some flaws, but the highs of this movie are so damn good that I have 0 regrets watching.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Revenge of the Sith is my favorite movie from prequel trilogy. It's action-packed and there is little exposition. The story keeps moving forward. It's very well paced and there are lots of great lightsaber duel scenes. This movie came out in 2005 and you can tell. The technology for CGI has advanced significantly since Episode I. CGI looks great.

I even got emotional at the end. I really felt bad when I saw Anakin and Obi Wan fighting to the death. They were friends and they had known each other for a long time. Padme also had a very sad ending.

All in all, I liked the prequels. I plan on watching them again some time in future.
