Movie with a decent build up that ends up as a idiotic horror flick beating you over the head with its one note theme. Embarrassed for people actually thinking this is some high brow horror outing.

Great acting, bad writing! There is no suspense or tension due to the protagonists annoying incompetence. It works in slasher flicks, because they get dead fast and often, but we must endure this family to the bitter the end.

Sometimes the unpleasantness of a situation is more convenient than being firm enough to interrupt it.

Of course, it's extremely difficult for anyone to find themselves in a situation like the one that unfolds here, but as it progresses you'll realize that what this film proposes is, to what extent will you let others cross your boundaries for the sake of maintaining civility? And above all, when will your gut tell you it's too late?

I was really looking forward to seeing this and I was not disappointed. I admit that there are things I didn't like, especially certain attitudes of the main characters, and I don't question that there are some points where the plot crosses certain thresholds that question its plausibility, but they are necessary for the plot to move forward.
They don't undermine the concept or what is being built, but let's just say they do become a bit exasperating.

In general, however, the construction of suspense is effective and that's the best weapon of this story, because here there is no gore or cheap scares, Speak No Evil bases its intricacies in human psychology, especially the one that tells you that maybe you are looking at true evil, but the rules of cordiality prevent you from doing anything about it.

The crude and ruthless ending makes you wonder: "How did we get into this situation?". But, as I said, by the time you get to ask yourself that question, for some of the people involved it's already too late and that makes it even more bleak.

Can't believe I saw two good horror films in a day.… Expand

With a tense soundtrack and great cast "Speak No Evil" can keep you anesthetized in thoughts before and after its end. No doubt that it is one of the most brilliant movies of 2022.

This was a breath of fresh air when it come to recent horror films. At certain points logic was dismissed for the sake of the plot, but overall a good film.

If this was an American movie with a basic American cast, it would be critically panned. It's decent beginning is marred by an arbitrary, pointless ending which tries to use Opera to make it seem deep.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Scandinavian horror film produced in 2022. I can say that the movie starts after the second half. The kind that gets on your nerves. It continues as an exemplary family consisting of a mother, father and daughter meets with another one-child family, mingles immediately and is invited to their home by the family they met. But this invitation is not very welcoming.


What a naive family you are. You returned for a teddy bear in such a disturbing condition. You immediately softened. Well, they took your child from you. The man is whining and the woman is beating the chair. They will kill you, attack, use violence. And the lambs went to die. You really allowed.


There are scenes of nudity and sexuality in the movie. The movie ends with the completely naked couple. It got on my nerves.… Expand

Nothing will prepare you for the horrific ending. Through the film you know something bad will happen and there are hints but it never come into play til the 15 min. Damn!

How very idiotically wrong I was. This movie shook me so much I didn’t watch a horror movie for about a week after, and I usually watch one every day or two day’s, but man this movie is brilliant. The performances were amazing and believable, the tension building was immaculate, and the underlying message was interesting and thought provoking, but man I’ll tell you what, you’ll never catch me watching this again, as well made as it was… Expand

One of the worst movies I have watched. It is boring. If you want to watch like some random family trip do it. But if you are looking for something scary or interesting you will not find it. Well made and acted, but the story lacks any sense of purpose. It seems to be trying to say something about dominant vs. submissive personality types but offers no commentary or cogent point beyond simply acknowledging that they exist.

The film is a slow burn that only shifts into horror in the last 20ish minutes, but when it makes that shift, there is no surprise, satisfaction, scares, or catharsis. The plot unfolds exactly how you expect it to from the outset without any subversion or even anything clever to mix things up. The actions of the main characters become less and less believable as the film moves along and what starts out feeling realistic ends up requiring through-the-roof suspension of disbelief to not see the gaping plot holes. The first 2/3 function as an effective uncomfortable social drama, but the third act squanders any potential that was built up.… Expand
