This movie completely butchered the first nostalgic movie of Space Jam. First one is way better than A New Legacy. Too much cameos, some of the plot didn’t make any sense, no Michael A Jordan completely broke me, and very cringy moments.
they ruined Lola's apperance and voice actor doesn't fit her, and also removing pepe le pew from film too.
The director of this movie and everyone who is involved should be ashamed of themselves.
The only things that makes up for is CGI, and Lebron.

I would rather watch Cats than watching this movie again.

I wouldn’t watch this again, just stick to the first movie.… Expand

Animations were fine but the movie was filled to many random stuff really plugging in whatever could be plugged in from a Austin Powers scene to a black and white western Lebrons acting isn't all that great and creates an atmosphere of him not fully into the film and his attitude of him just collectiong money on a project and not caring and overall the movie itself fails to capture the spirit of the first space jam in which it creates a feeling of family and that the characters actually care for each other… Expand

Well, sadly Space Jam: A New Legacy is not good. It has some good ideas but it came in short. It's not better than the first one which was made with Michael Jordan. This Space Jam with Lebron James is a disappointment.

The worst part is that this entire film is essentially one long Warner Bros. commercial, throwing shameless Warner product placement, films, and characters left and right in not-so-creative or clever ways. Lebron James makes the most of what he's given, but even he looks bored and underwhelmed through most of this. Overall, does it have its moments of color and spectacle? Sure, but that's all this film really has going for it, and that can't overcome a contrived and uninspired story that lacks the heart and charm of the original.… Expand

From the other reviews you can read that this is not a perfect movie, however, this movie has made me smile a lot more than a lot of high-rated comedy movies. If you like looney tunes, sports & games. This one is a win.

Remember, this is a movie for kids- fun and casual!

It’s hard to watch this with a kid and not enjoy it. My 5yr old niece thought it was hilarious. The incessant giggling was contagious. Overall we enjoyed it, which is really all you can ask of a movie.

Despite having to change Lola's design a bit and removing Pepe Le Pew scene, Space Jam: A New Legacy maneged to revive the nostalgia of its predecessor(a bit) and kept its slapstick comedy around. The plot us knda similar to the original but differ it with massive amount of character cameos from other franchises and gives it a big boost. In Space Jam, Jordan had scenes with his friends/rivals and Bill Murray in and their omission is sorely missed. The soundtrack was equally meh compared to the greatness of the original. Due to all the Warner Brothers movie references and cameos I found the sequel even more fun than the first film. Lebron is the least interesting thing about the movie though.

Michael Jordan had more charisma on screen. Lebron is a bit wooden and too much of a control freak father to be likable in it. As Lebron’s wife, Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek Discovery) seems like she is trying too hard to win an Oscar every time she acts, even in a Space Jam movie.
The Looney Toon characters are at least entertaining throughout. Even when the basketball game they are playing isn’t as entertaining as they are. The film loses a lot of steam during the basketball game.… Expand

After 25 years of waiting, They blew it. Though the cast does a decent job, The basketball scenes are quite fun, and the visuals and animation are fantastic, The story is poorly written, The characters are quite bland, And the humor is very hit or miss. But the biggest sin this movie commits is the product placement, It’s literally a 115 minute commercial for Warner Media properties, I will concede that Rick & Morty’s cameo was absolutely hilarious but the rest of the product placement is completely unnecessary and way too in your face. It’s not horrible, But this is a pretty bad film and a massive letdown.… Expand

The Looney Tunes franchise returns to the big screen after being absent for 25 years after 1996’s Space Jam and 18 years after 2003’s Looney Tunes: Back in Action. Just like those two movies and this year’s Tom and Jerry, this one is also a live action/animation hybrid movie.

LeBron James (himself) is a well-known and famous basketball player in the NBA who wanted his two sons, Darius and Dom, to follow in his footsteps. Unlike Darius, Dom (Joe) is more interested in video game who wanted to be a video game developer when he grows up.

Meanwhile, a computer A.I. at Warner Bros. studios called Al-G Rhythm (Cheadle) gain an interest in LeBron James due to his popularity. LeBron and his son are invited by the studios to discuss a potential movie deals but he decline the offer because not only he sees himself as a basketball player, he thinks the idea itself is very bad from the start. On the other hand, Dom shown an interest in Al-G Rhythm while also revealed in the process that he is going to E3 Game Design camp instead of basketball camp.

Not happy with LeBron’s rejection, Rhythm lure both him and his son to the basement server room where they got capture and trap in virtual reality. Rhythm challenge LeBron to a basketball game while holding Dom as his captive and if the latter wins, he will set them both free but if Rhythm wins, they will be trap here forever. After that, Rhythm sends him to Tune World where LeBron meets Bugs Bunny (voiced by Jeff Bergman). Together, they assemble a team consisting of the other Looney Tunes characters for the upcoming game.

It has been a long time since I last watch Looney Tunes cartoon shows and movies and I must say that watching this movie really brings back not only the memories of growing up with it, the movie also brings back the fun and nostalgia. LeBron’s acting was pretty good. I did not expect that he can actually act as I only see him as basketball player at first. This movie proved me wrong. Don Cheadle also did great with his performance. His acting is one of the good things about this movie.

As for the Looney Tunes characters, Jeff Bergman along with Eric Bauza, Zendaya, Bob Bergman, Candi Milo and Gabriel Iglesias have done a great in voicing the characters. The characters are exactly like they are supposed to be with little to no changes made to the character. The animation is great as well especially the hand drawn animation. The characters in CGI animation are also great and not too horrible to look at. Other than that, this movie also featured many other Warner Bros. IPs such as DC Universe, Hanna-Barbera, Harry Potter and more. It is pretty fun to spot all those cameos and Easter Eggs while watching.

While I think this movie is fun and nostalgic, the story in this movie is not exactly great. The plot of this movie is rehashed from the first movie. The main characters trapped in a different world, a challenge to a basketball game to win their freedom and a happy ending. It is really nothing new as this movie do featured other IPs, this movie sometimes make you feel like this a product placement movie like how Michael Bay usually done with his movies. As for the humours, some might find the humours a hit while others might find it a miss.

This movie may not be masterpiece but to me, it is still a fun and enjoyable movie to watch especially having grew up watching Looney Tunes. By the way, you do not need to watch the first movie to understand this one. This movie is a standalone sequel with no follow up from the original movie. The story was decent but the whole concept about algorithm didn't made sense, the prequel had similar concept but it blended with whole situation amazingly this felt little disconnected from core story although the whole runtime is filled with Brilliant music and awesome soundtracks,raps and with it the awesome references of wb's property,mickey mouse and star trek too, As per visuals it was a pure stunning experience it was colorfull and the cgi and animation is pure art, This sequel's addition of lebron james was good although unlike 1st one this was heavily focused on his father aspects and his kid which was good but with shifting moments in such crowded movie the emotional appeal felt missing although the villian "algo" use of kid as opponent of bron at game was good, The game was entertaining, The starting with lebron childhood his escape from gaming for basketball and his similar wish for kid while the kid focusing on his game development and then the wb showcase and the algo's meet and whole game deal for algo's plan to be famous and his stealing people for game on the other hand the bron's stuck at looneyland and the whole team assemble thing was awesome the different places to recurit looneys and then the game 1st half with similar prequel style and then at half time the micheal jordan entry was just insanely "wow" it was surprising and then the 2nd half with awesome looney toons stuff and the end with father son together and the last goal made by game glitch and bugs sacrific it was amazing then the back to normal and kid's pursuing his dream and bugs meet at last with bron it was an good end, The game was entertaining and fun and The movie too, Overall its an awesome movie.… Expand

This week in theaters and on HBO Max, Space Jam: A New Legacy made its premiere. Following in the footsteps of Space Jam from the 90's starring Michael Jordan, we have our own NBA superstar, Lebron James, leading the Tune Squad for a fight over the world. Let's see what this update/reboot/sequel has for viewers.

ISO LEBRON! That's exactly how this movie begins to feel. It is inevitable to compare this with the original Space Jam with MJ, and I don't really remember that movie being that MJ-focused. Yes it was literally the story of him retiring and getting the fire back to play in the NBA, but he felt more like a cog than a character. As the movie goes on, that iso turns more into team ball and its enjoyable. Anyway, some parts are uber corny. Nevertheless, Lebron actually does a pretty good job. I knew from his cameos in other films he could do it, but could he be the main attraction off the court? The jury is still out. I think he did a good enough job for the stereotypical athlete-sports flick. Lebron has some serious natural comedic timing but the serious emotional stuff is where the acting is a bit lacking. He can work on it though. It actually just might be his voice and not his acting. Something to ponder. Lebron might even be better in a villain or big bad role. Do they still need Jonathan Majors for the Kang the Conqueror role? Think about it Marvel. Let's talk about the rest of the cast. Cheadle is pretty good as well. Everyone else... people wise don't worry about (the sons tries his best).

Let's get to the basics - Space Jam: A New Legacy is keeping both the Space Jam and Looney Tunes legacy alive. The animation is really well done and brought everything to 2020. In fact, the use of the Warner Bros. World and use of other movies is so much fun to see here. Either way, the Tune gang is back at it led by your favorite bunny and his antics, and that makes this a really good family flick. The Tunes are the stars of this flick for sure with all of the laughs they bring. I'm looking at you Khaleesi!

While I see that Space Jam: A New Legacy is catching a bad rap, but honestly its a fun movie. Is Lebron a perfect and natural actor? No. He does a pretty good job though and is surrounded by some really funny critters and situations. I’m glad they paid homage to the first movie, but made it its own thing as well. This is one for the whole family. If you’re going to the theater, grab a bowl of popcorn during the matinee but those on HBO Max this is a must see Big Box. And that’s all y’all!… Expand

In a contest between two mediocre films, to see which is the worst, this is definitely the loser. It is considerably less painful to finish. At times it's too funny to be amusingly bad, so for many that's a negative. This film dials back theIn a contest between two mediocre films, to see which is the worst, this is definitely the loser. It is considerably less painful to finish. At times it's too funny to be amusingly bad, so for many that's a negative. This film dials back the absurdity quite a lot and explains quite a lot of the events, even if that's not apparent from the trailers. There's a lot more structure, and that allowed less risks to be taken for better or worse.

The live action performances early in the film feel unfinished and tonally inconsistent. They are paced way too fast for the relaxed tone the scenes should have, and at times it seems like Lebron received a different script than everyone else. When the stakes are raised later, things start to fall into place, but until then, they are just sucking up oxygen and you could not care less what they are saying. The only thing I can give the live action scenes credit for is being short, and the total absence of Wayne Knight.

Once the Tunes get involved, I have to say the film becomes moderately enjoyable. The pacing is still lighting fast, but the 2D animated cartoons aren't awkardly juxtaposed onto a living Lebron James, and he is actually turned into a 2D cartoon as well to aid in the interactions between the two, and I can only thank the heavens above that they chose this; it's much easier to focus on the Tunes performances when there isn't a massive real life person following them around. When he is converted back to 3D for the basketball game however, the Tunes are converted to 3D as well (accompanied by fittingly villainous music, oooh...) The mixing of media here is done in a much less jarring way, and the jokes being told are not immediately deflated by awkward real life interactions or Lola's debauchery.

I found myself remembering the jokes. Not one, but two days later. There's less dry slapstick and more structured jokes. I can't speak for any kids watching the new film in theaters, but it doesn't talk down to them and assumes you know a few things about the Looney Tunes and the live action cast, and if you do it's going to get a few genuine laughs. They demonstrate a good understanding of the source material and the celebrities used. It's not the absolute funniest the Looney Tunes have ever been, but I'd place it above the majority of their modern performances. Daffy's scene where he hijacks a train and is disappointed that it's headed towards an orphanage as opposed to the far less offensive locations listed, when Michael Jordan makes an appearance, when Tweety hits Anthony Davis with a train, when Damian Lillard as Chronos freezes time and messes with everyone. it's hilarious, it's classic Looney Tunes. In fact, Chronos' scenes are very, very good. I would watch them again any day of the week. I have to give credit where it's due.

While the movie is far from brilliant, it has moments of comedic brilliance and I cannot give it a truly bad score.… Expand

The film isn't really meant to be taken seriously, and I'm fine with that. In my opinion, Space Jam: A New Legacy is a laugh-out-loud film for the whole family, with some good parts, and some not-the-best parts.… Expand

I heard plenty of giggling kids in the theater, so I guess it worked for them. The story is simple and familiar and further reinforces father and mother stereotypes. The entire movie felt like a commercial for Warner. Ugh.

People complaining that LeBron's acting is bad need to give the original a watch, as it was not any worse than MJ's acting. Don Cheadle's role in the movie is a bit lackluster at times, but does help the plot solidify. Also, the movie makes many references to its IPs, but it doesn't make it any different, however it does seem that WB is just showing off what they have. The plot of the movie is not amazing, but it's a kids movie at the end of the day, so it is pretty good compared to other kids movies. I suspect that most of the bad reviews is down to LeBron haters, and I even saw some reviews claiming something about boycotting the movie because of BLM(??). Regardless, the movie is fine. If you want to watch it with your kids, it is great because it will keep them entertained. If you want to watch for some nostalgia factor, it is also great as it fills the MJ shaped void that people miss from the original Space Jam.… Expand

It has a nice message on letting those who you love be who they want to be, and it is great to see another (somewhat) traditionally animated film in the cinema again. I enjoyed the film's humour too. Some of it was a bit embarrassing (The Notorious P.I.G.?), but I laughed at a lot of it.

If you want a funny, entertaining and/or heartwarming film, or are just desperate to see the classic Tunes return to the big screen, this film is definitely for you!… Expand

It was fun!! Anyone who actively dislikes this movie needs to relax. It’s fun, silly, sweet and goofy, and it does exactly what it seeks to do. It’s Lebron with looney tunes, it doesn’t hide what it is and it does what it is perfectly.
