Amazing movie, very clever and witty, brilliant song lyrics, easily the best movie-musical ever created. I even showed my parents this movie against my better instincts, and it had them in stitches the entire time. Simply incredible.

Not only is this one of the funniest movie ever made, made in Trey and Matt's prime times, but the music is superb. I swear, the music was incredible, trey should be a musician, Up there was a great song. The story was very good.

I usually try to make up a giggle with movies that has trashy comedy like this one, but the trashy comedy seen here is actually pure trash; however, the story made up most of it same with the characters.

This is one of the funniest movies that ive ever seen. Those who think its stupid and vulgar oviously did not actually watch it, but wnet to the movie, groaned and moaned, then looked at the screen durring the vulgar parts, then said "See!?!".

I would have to say that this movie takes the cake in vulgarity and crude humor. However, I think it's a great movie. You have all the origina SP people and some of the same elements from previous SP episodes like when Cartman sings I would have to say that this movie takes the cake in vulgarity and crude humor. What is so charming about South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut is that the events in the movie are a prophetic (and hilarious) allusion of exactly how society would react to a South Park movie. The film starts with Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny going to see an R-rated "Terrance and Phillip" movie and the boys pick up the curse words they hear, if you get the implication. It leads to a series of events triggered by Kyle's strict mother which triggers an American-Canadian war, all as the result of her dissatisfaction with her child swearing. The musical numbers are perfect for this movie, as they are very catchy and bring lots of wit into the events, especially "Blame Canada" and "La Resistance."

I disagree with those who feel that this movie "runs out of steam;" the people who think this movie is just another comedy obviously don't understand South Park, and they certainly don't understand Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The imperfections in the animation and production value are intended as part of the humor, and you won't understand its sophistication unless you consider the story as a whole. It's a bizarre comedy movie, but also a very funny, boundary-crossing social commentary as well.… Expand

South was introduced to me at an older age, so I didn't grow up with it. I did however know that it existed. I did however know that it existed. After years of watching animated television shows, I decided to watch this series, and I loved it. Once I watched the first 15 seasons I decided to watch the movie. I can say that this is a good trend for television shows, the simpsons movie was a great success and so was this one. Like always the writers manage to create clever jokes and likeable characters. About the characters, I think an average viewer can watch this without watching the show; it would be advised to watch the first few seasons before hand, and that there won't be any confusion with watching this movie. One of the most obvious topics this film talks about is how parents don't deal with their kids watching inappropriate t.v shows, and how they prefer to blame others than themselves or their own children. This is a very good topic because it's aware of how some people aren't very fond of the show. A few shows I can think of do this as well, but this takes this to an extreme. Oddly enough this is a musical; I do not understand why they made this choice, but they do have some awesome songs such as: "Kyle's mom is a and blame Canada". The possible reason for this choice is because they want to do a satire of Disney movies. The jokes in this movie work real well, they range from gross out to actual intellectual jokes. The characters are very well written, but of course it is carrying on from a television, but they're still a bunch of fun characters. This is a really fun movie to watch, and has some substance to make not seem like mindless entertainment.… Expand

Watching this moving nearly two decades later I realize it was ahead of its time. It predicted its own ridicule and outrage. It is, afterall the same team who brought in 9 Tony awards with the Book of Mormon... second only to Phantom of the Opera. Hell, "Blame Canada" was nominated for an Oscar.

It's easy to dismiss it as "toilet humour" resorting to shock and awe for its kicks, but there's so much more behind the writing and it manages to be just as cutting to this day. Not so shocking when you consider that the TV show is still running, and the second in-house video game is due within the next year.

Trey and Matt will go down in history as one of the most important comedy duos ever. They pushed the boundaries then, and continue to do so now.… Expand

I suppose that in order to analyze this movie you definitely need to put some of your deepest convictions aside. Almost all the humour comes from shock value, swearing and extremist thoughts. Almost all the humour comes from shock value, swearing and extremist thoughts. Very unrecommended for Canadian people and lovers because the movie goes total trash to them.

The pace is great. Scenario is as weird as those used in the TV series. So obviously if you love this series you will surely love the movie and vice-versa. Anyway the universe finally starts to show some lack of consistency. In the TV series you see those kids swearing all the times in front of their parents but in this movie swearing is going too far?! The movie is full of songs that are more or less funny and accurate. The major flaw to me for this is that the movie capitalize on its success of being openly disrespecful, political and by 'daring to say what nobody dares to say'. This project just appears to me as another step in the main direction taken by South Park without adding any effort to the approach. This sadly doesn't bring anything new to its universe.

However I have to recognize that the creators are really inspired as they always manage to put the characters in the weirdest and most extreme situations. Everything always take disproportionate turns of phrase.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. provavelmente um dos meus filmes favoritos, eu particulamente amo musicais, quando usado direito pode fazer a história se mover de uma maneira muito mais interessante que um simples diálogo e a ideia de fazer um musical de south park pode parecer inusitada ou estúpida, mas aqui funciona muito bem. a história pode não ser uma obra prima mas é cativante e inteligente, tudo que eu procuro num filme de south park, além de conseguir se manter atual até os dias atuais, as piadas são engraçadas e inteligentes, já padrão de south park, as musícas são incríveis, não tem uma música que eu não goste, em especial "i can change".


talvez a única coisa que eu não goste é o final, onde todo mundo simplesmente parece lembrar mas ao mesmo tempo se esquece que a guerra aconteceu, de qualquer forma, é menos de dois minutos do filme, esse filme ainda é uma obra-prima pra mim e um exemplo perfeito de como fazer um bom musical.… Expand

This movie is a f’ing masterpiece! A true example of how good South Park is! They take a big problem in our society, being the extreme leftists, and satirize it to the ground. They take a big problem in our society, being the extreme leftists, and satirize it to the ground. The idea of the moms starting a war with Canada over kids swearing is brilliant and as a Canadian myself, I f’ing love it! The raunchy and politically incorrect humour of this film is perfect and the jokes all land so well. This is also my favourite musical of all time with so many great funny songs and a million times better than any Disney movies. The way Saddam Hussein is portrayed in this film is priceless and is the funniest version of him in existence! Trey Parker and Matt Stone are such geniuses and did a terrific job at making South Park into a movie. You would have to be an extreme leftist with no sense of humour to not enjoy it.… Expand

Its good enough to make you laugh and the musical part is not even bad or anything. It is like an actual south park episode you can watch and enjoy. I'm rating this movie a ten, because that's what Brian Boitano would do.

In all seriousness, this movie is fantastic. Watch this if you are looking for a funny movie with a good message and great characters.
