Under the premise of being franc and direct, the filmmakers are concentrated in the figure of Yehuda Lerner but not in the audience who is, suddenly, trapped in a sad and touching story with the sense of a grandpa story. There are not a visualization, this doc is plagued of words (translations for better idea) that make this film a demanding exercise of full concentration. If you´re not attented, maybe you feel lost, bored and, over all, sleepy with this boring boring treatment of an interesting theme. Expand

In fact, the objective of the director in all is career is making that the jewish extermination won't be forgotten. And in fact all is career corresponded to that, including this film. One of the most curious things on this film is the fact that the person that we are hearing was in fact a jewish that was on a concentration camp, and all the stories that he told were true. That's exactly what makes this film great! But if you don't like films with much any action, you don't like this one, because of the persistence that the viewer has to keep to watch the full film (mainly the last 10 minutes).
In conclusion, i loved the film, but i understand who didn't.
But, in fact if want to watch the truly masterpiece of this director watch Shoah (9 hours documentary) that's more interesting.
But if you don't have time (or pacience) to watch a 9 hour film, watch this one that is a mainly a resume of Shoah.
