It's not great and it takes several different turns that don't always pay off but it's a worth while watch. I can see the Amy Schumer backlash with 58 negative reviews (Seriously) it isn't anywhere near that bad. It was also great to see Goldie Hawn back on screen. I appreciated Snatched as a middle of the road comedy with some solid supporting characters. B Expand

Their vacation to South America gets ruined when they're kidnapped. Even though the situation and the pairing is ripe for laffs, the script isn't often funny. There's plenty of comic energy and Schumer's brand of delivery still lands (when there's a good line). Hawn forsakes her classic ditzy style for an uptight, unfunny character. Some of the supporting roles get the most mileage out of the material (Ike Barinholtz, Wanda Sykes, Joan Cusack). The whole endeavor is intermittently enjoyable, but still falls short. NOTE: The starring duo introduces the movie by thanking the audience for coming to see it in an actual cinema. Expand

The first half has a handful of good jokes and is generally solid, the second half just drops off. Especially the terrible worm scene

A young and careless woman (Amy Schumer) persuades her ultra-cautious mother (Goldie Hawn) to accompany her on a exotic vacation. What could go wrong?
There are three types of American mainstream comedies. I will call them entry level (no talent, no good material), middle class (some talent, not enough good material) and top-shelf (enough talent and good material).
All of them are rather dirty, of course. What self-respecting modern comedy would not show or talk about genitals, sex, masturbation, farting, getting drunk etc, am I right or am I right?
„Snatched“ is a middle class efforts which gives us the second starring role of Amy Schumer, the up and coming funny woman type movie star previously seen in Judd Apatow’s „Trainwreck“.
I haven’t seen her stand up routines, but as an actress, she’s feels something like a new improved Melissa McCarthy or Lena Dunham.
Meaning she looks sexier and does not try to outgross us at every possible turn (at least not so much). But she’s still here to make us laugh with the power of dirty and embarrassing jokes.
„Snatched“ was released just before Mothers Day (on 19th of May in Estonia) and marketed like a girl power comedy, but it’s still essentially a entertainment solely for boys.
The more intelligent female viewers will probably not find much to laugh at (except at how stupid everything is), or will even hate Schuumer’s character for being so moronic.
Luckily for the makers of this movie, I am not one of the more intelligent female viewers, and I have always enjoyed dirty American comedies, even if most of them are setting the bar pretty low.
So I gotta admit that I enjoyed most of „Snatched“ although it doesn’t aim high and overall feels lightweight. Nobody’s trying that hard and there’s just a series of sketches instead of a something clearly resembling a cohesive unit called movie.
But just like in Adam Sandler’s comedies, the performers have enough charm to pull us through and entertain us mildly until the end credits start to roll.
Schumer is fun and holds her own in the lead, Goldie Hawn as her character’s mother feels surprisingly charmless, luckily she’s OK to stay back and let the others shine. (Of course, it’s been 15 years since Hawn’s last movie and I never actually found her that amusing in the first place.)
And then there are colorful supporting roles by Christopher Meloni, Wanda Sykes and Joan Cusack. So, a fun bunch to hang around with for 91 minutes.
You will probably not enjoy „Snatched“ as much as I did. But then again, this movie was made for people like me who never quite grow out of lowbrow jokes. Arf!

Ignore the trolls giving this 1/10 on here, Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb. But I'm not going to lie and say "Snatched" didn't make me chuckle enough times to recommend. Most of the biggest laughs come from the supporting cast, Schumer and Hawn are just OK, but if a basic plot doesn't bother you, this is far from the worst comedy (or movie) out right now. Expand

Yes, it's the likes of supporting cast members Ike Barinholtz, Bashir Salahuddin, Christopher Meloni, Wanda Sykes, and Joan Cusack that make this crime comedy at least worth sitting through. That isn't necessarily to say that leads Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn do a particularly bad job with their respective characters. But the limited chemistry and flat joke deliveries ultimately can't move the needle enough for me in the end. Expand

Watching Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn play off each other is fun. And there are some good laughs. I happen to love a good adveture and these two ladies do have an adventure for sure. The mother/daughter dynamic is very relatable and probably familiar for ladies in the audience. I thought it was fun. If you just want some fun at the movies and don't want to have to think too hard, this is the movie for you. Ike Baringoltz is lots of fun as Schumer's agoraphobic, Mama's boy brother. Christopher Meloni is funny too as a wanna-be adventurer who leads to two women astray in hilarious fashion. There are definitely some funny bits. Expand

Ike Berenholtz is by far the funniest part of this movie. Sure, Amy is great, and she's super funny for the first half or so, but her character runs out of gas. It's only decent. But for Hollywood these days, you could do a lot worse.

Despite several chuckle worthy moments, Snatched is a mostly forgettable comedy romp. Some of the cast are funny, some are not. Some humour land, some don't.

When the paradise turned into a hell!

People have reason to dislike it, but I'm not on the same page. Of course it was not the best kidnap-adventure I've ever seen. But I enjoyed watching it. Because I felt it was being truthful. I mean Amy Schumer neither a beauty queen nor a sexy devil. Her role was much better than the last time I saw her in a romance-comedy. Except the familiar storyline, this film had a better narration with honest dialogues. So don't criticise me for saying what I felt about her.

Another South American based clichéd theme. A woman goes on vacation with her mother after breaking up with her boyfriend. Soon the paradise becomes a 'behind the enemy line' hell. When there's no one is coming to their rescue, the surviving and fight back begins. In an unfamiliar territory, how they plan for their escape and other adventures follows till the last sequence of the film.

Both, Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn was good. It was a perfect casting, because the chemistry was good. The pace of the narration was the advantage. A decent direction from the filmmaker of some of the finest comedy films. Surely there's nothing wrong to watch it at once. An average film, or maybe slightly above that. But there's nothing laudable. If you are looking for logicless time pass film, it will do just fine.

I was not expecting that, in a good way. Although the half of the movie is so-so the rest is a decent comedy.

This film is certainly somewhat cringe-y and forgettable but it is also somewhat amusing and its definitely an easy watch, with little content likely to especially offend. Its silly but ok - no more, no less.
