This movie is very bland in spite of being a thriller and directed by Phillip Noyce, who shot the brilliant thriller Dead Calm with Nicole Kidman, Sam Neil and Billy Zane. Silver has 1 interesting shot of the lady falling from the building that opens the movie, the rest is downhill from there. All of the actors are lackluster and the movie is as pointless as possible with its lame themes that it pretends are clever yet they are inane. Sliver is 1993's worst film by far. 1993 was a classic year for the cinema, but this movie should never have been greenlighted. Do not watch this movie ever, it has nothing new or exciting to offer to avid cinephiles. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sliver was made in 1993 by director Phillip Noyce and is a drama/thriller/erotic film/romance and yes I find all them movie genres suitable to fit into Sliver.... Sliver stars Sharon Stone, Tom Berenger and William Baldwin fresh from his duties after Flatliners lol... SLIVER has many sex scenes and very few if any are enjoyable which is the weak part of Sliver. Some woman has died after falling from a high-rise complex apartment building or something and she either commited suicide or was killed. The woman in question is Naomi Singer, later on Sharon Stone gets her apartment and settles in and a seedy old man in the building says to her I'm no pervert but I wish I was which is creepy. Meanwhile some dude who owns the building (William Baldwin) befriends Carla Norris (Sharon Stone) and videotapes her using the dozen television screens he's secretly hiding with cameras hidden all round the building watching everyone in it. Baldwin and Sharon Stone have sex numerous times and in the end of the film we find out who the killer is who killed Naomi Singer earlier in the movie but William Baldwin gets all his hidden television screens to privately look at people in the building destroyed by Sharon Stone as she shoots all his equipment destroying his viewing pleasure. Very tense film full of suspense and intrigue and well acted by all involved but the sex scenes kinda suck. Expand

the main topic is a good idea, but the story and dialogues were a bit boring. In addition the movie focused on Sharon Stone, but I didnt like her in this movie (she was marvellous in Casino and Basic instinct). Jack Landsfords character wasthe main topic is a good idea, but the story and dialogues were a bit boring.
