This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Still again, I had fun with this movie even though it wasn’t the best in this series. The humor coming from Angela kind of makes the series. I also found that it was interesting that the previous movie and Sleepaway Camp 3 Teenage Wasteland both have siblings of well known actors in them. PLOT

Why did I think this year would be any different?–Angela

It’s summer again and Angela kills a girl and takes over her identity. She goes back to the camp she terrorized the year prior. Now it’s a camp for wealthy kids and poor kids from across the country. Angela has a new group of people to kill off.

Party all night! Teenage Wasteland!–Snowboy

MY THOUGHTS

Some good kills like the woman buried in garbage and the lawn mower used on her. And of course I loved Cindy’s (Kim Wall) face plant into the concrete death. Couldn’t happen to a nicer character. We also find out that Molly, who we thought survived the last movie, was killed by Angela, so no final girl then.

As with the previous movie, this one the characters are named after characters from West Side Story, The Brady Bunch, and The Munsters. Tracy Griffith, Melanie Griffith’s younger sister, plays Marcia. And yes, I know this is an 80’s slasher so I shouldn’t expect characters to act accordingly but come on. Officer Whitmore, the father of one of Angela’s victims and someone who arrested her, is in charge of her group. You’re telling me he wouldn’t recognize her? Yes, it’s been a year but come on. Also, I like the actor Michael J. Pollard, but we are supposed to believe Jan (Stacie Lambert) wants to have sex with him? The characters definitely play up the stereotypes: the racist white girl, the conservative white guy, the token black gangbanger, and the latino gang member with a heart of gold. It didn’t bother me that much though. This is a low budget slasher movie after all.

Thank God there’ll be one less idiot in politics.–Angela

We get more call backs to Jason and Freddy. With Freddy the garbage truck’s license plate is the number of Nancy’s house. And with Jason, while Angela is fishing she pulls out Jason’s hockey mask. The main detractor for me is Angela’s god awful wig! It was so bad. I know why it was needed but yuck!

Pretty silly premise to start off with a dump truck kill, ditches all subtlety and pretext for any of the killings. The Flag pole murder might be one of the more brutal and funny slasher kills, lawnmower to the face also.
