It’s fun, but it kind of runs out of steam by the end. Better than the worse John Wick movie, but far away from the good ones.

Why did the nazis not just kill him, are they stupid?

Overall pretty weak.

At least work for logical continuity. At least try for suspension of disbelief. This movie was just a string of unbelievable action scenes that seemed were meant for Beavis and Butthead to get excited about. Its a 4 only because its technically sound and the first act is set in a gorgeous part of the world. But holy smokes is it junk after that. Couldn't finish watching it. Expand

He becomes a sort of John Wick, violently killing his opposition, while remaining virtually unscathed. Even when he gets wounded and worse, he manages to emerge to continue his quest. This attitude is the approximate translation of the title, courage and determination. The only reason to see this film is for the brutal acts of death, which are sometimes cleverly dispatched. Other than the stark landscapes, which are captured with attractive cinematography, there's nothing else but mud, blood and carnage. Ironically, he utters his first and only words as the last line of the film. Expand

Somewhere I got the idea that Sisu was a serious film about one man's fight against Nazi savagery. It isn't. One manSomewhere I got the idea that Sisu was a serious film about one man's fight against Nazi savagery. It isn't. As one reviewer put it, this film is "stupid fun" and just another entry in the Rambo-inspired violence porn category. One man suffers unimaginable violence at the hands of the Nazis and survives it all by way of his indomitable will. This calls to mind how Bram Stoker described Dracula conquering death. So basically it's a fantasy.

And, you know? I'm still wondering what happened to the dog. Was it conveniently excluded from the final scenes or did the filmmakers forget about it? You tell me.

If you're looking for mindless action this may be your film. Otherwise, move on.

If you accept it all, then go for it. There is no other way to process it, because if you don't, on more than one occasion you'll be shouting, "How the **** did that happen?
It is what it is. Take it or leave it.

There are no dramatic escalations or emotional stakes in its plot. You're not watching a hero or someone pretending to be one.
It's a guy who's looking to protect his gold and in his way are some Nazis. He's not afraid of them at all and will kill them as they come.

There's nothing you won't see coming, no surprises that would add any kind of depth to the plot or further characterization of the lead figure. That's Sisu. There's no more. Don't look for anything else.

If that's not your idea of quick entertainment, I'll honestly tell you not to waste your time.

Ridiculously over the top. No man can withstand such beating and live. It is pretty gory fun though. Like a excessively violent version of Valhalla Rising and John Wick.

The full Italian title is "Sisu - L'immortale", which recalls both the similar addition adopted for "Highlander" (1986), and "Immortal", 2004 Beliel's heavy animated movie. Sort of viking "Mission: Impossible", is actually more closely related to "Conan the Barbarian", not the feature length of Milius (1982) but the original fantasy superhero conceived by Robert Ervin Howard and published in 1932 in the pulp magazine "Weird Tales". Unbelievable but true: Quentin, George Miller and the pitiful last Keanu were not yet born. Taking cinema seriously and wanting to quibble about the credibility of situations and scenes, I immediately let it go.

Enfim...

My friend Gareth said this was his favorite comedy of all time. And he is from Finland.
