They did the right thing replacing Armie Hammer with Josh Duhamel. Josh and JLo have a good chemistry. But Jennifer Cooligde is an MVP for sure. She has a great comedic timing. She’s the legend

Shotgun Wedding is a hilarious romcom that was funny and adventurous at the same time; much in the same light as The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, however Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Lopez paired up in this film to create aShotgun Wedding is a hilarious romcom that was funny and adventurous at the same time; much in the same light as The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, however Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Lopez paired up in this film to create a very interesting dynamic and the pairing of the back drop and casting with the likes of Cheech Marin and Jennifer Coolidge made for the perfect Comic Relief coupled with a beautiful tropical background that made it funny, action-packed, and enjoyable! I'd recommend this great new movie to all fans of similar films such as Romancing the Stone, and Jewel of the Nile.… Expand

Crazy stupid fun! Shotgun Wedding is uptempo, wild and hilarious.

This action romcom hosts a farrago of characters, each one portrayed by brilliant filmstars. The chemistry between the leads (Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel) is vivid, and they both balance their comedic chops adequately. Jennifer Coolidge also continues her streak of delivering entertaining characters, and Lenny Kravitz is a delight.

The cinematography and direction is well-done.

If you're looking for a crazy, mindless, ridiculous, far-fetched yet entertaining flick, Shotgun Wedding is the movie.

Typically when a movie gets sent straight to streaming or has a short run in theaters its not a good sign. And lets be real both our Leads are not normally box office Gold. BUT that being said Shotgun Wedding breaths life of fresh air backTypically when a movie gets sent straight to streaming or has a short run in theaters its not a good sign. And lets be real both our Leads are not normally box office Gold. BUT that being said Shotgun Wedding breaths life of fresh air back into Romcoms. Or should I say action Romcoms. This movie reminds me of everything I loved about early 2000's Romcoms, when movies could just be fun. I feel like nowadays everyone takes everything way to serious, reading some of these negative reviews on this movie it seems like everyone has a stick up their ass. Shotgun Wedding is very enjoyable, alot more then I thought it was gonna be. Pretty much they are getting married on an island in the Philippines when suddenly it gets interrupted by some pirates who want their money. So they have to find a way to save their wedding party all while getting rid of the Pirates. This movie has tons of laughs, I was chuckling to my self alot and there were honestly some actual laugh out loud moments. Jlo does a great job in this, some people dont like her acting but I think she does good. Josh does a good job as well and their relationship is believable. I love the banter they have back and forth during this movie. Also this movie had some surprising violence in it and some actually good action scenes, full of funny moments as well. There is also a twist in this movie I actually didnt see coming which was nice. Jennifer Coolidge was a really funny side character. The Pirates all had unique looks to them. It also had some sweet and heartfelt moments as well. This movie is a strong hour and 40mins with no slow parts and boring bits. It was fun laughs and action from beginning to end. Give this one a shot I think you will enjoy it. Solid 8/10… Expand

Embora seja um filme típico, sem muito a se aproveitar de novidade, temos aqui uma Jeniffer Lopez muito à vontade para transitar pelo drama, romance e ação, além de personagens coadjuvantes muito bons e, enfim, um filme realmente engraçado.
OEmbora seja um filme típico, sem muito a se aproveitar de novidade, temos aqui uma Jeniffer Lopez muito à vontade para transitar pelo drama, romance e ação, além de personagens coadjuvantes muito bons e, enfim, um filme realmente engraçado.
O filme começa em uma ilha paradisíaca onde os noivos ensaiam para o casamento. Daí já se tira o quadro familiar: os pais dos noivos de família mais humilde, e os pais da noiva separados, sendo que a mãe é uma patricinha de olhar esnobe (feita pela brasileira Sônia Braga, excelente no papel) e o pai um ricaço que aparece com a namorada super mais jovem, e para piorar o quadro, convida o ex da sua filha para participar do momento.
As locações do filme realmente estão muito lindas, e tem direito a algumas tomadas aéreas que não soaram gratuitas (a cena onde os noivos atravessam a ilha penduradas em uma corda é bem feitinha mesmo).
No dia do casamento, a festa é tomada por piratas, que fazem os convidados de refém, mas não conseguem encurralar os noivos, que estavam separados do bando tendo uma DR. E claro, nessa situação extrema, eles vão precisar deixar de lado as diferenças e o blá blá blá do relacionamento para enfrentar os vilões.
E aí que reside o mérito e a desmérito do filme, pois ao mesmo tempo em que as cenas de ação divertem e são bem produzidas, os piratas são muito, mas muito idiotas. Parecem amadores. Simplesmente o roteiro os torna imbecis demais, e ainda contando com a ajuda de certos comparsas, tudo soou forçado e feito na medida certa para Jeniffer Lopes e Josh Duhamel assumirem o protagonismo. Ainda bem que eles têm excelente química juntos.
A cena final em que pegam o barco e são perseguidos por um dos vilões e por uma das vilãs (esta de helicóptero) realmente não deixa nada a desejar para filmes específicos de ação.
Então, o que temos aqui é uma obra que diverte com piadas boas e medianas, coadjuvantes bem caracterizados (alguns como a irmã do noivo e seu romance improvável, embora feito só para encher linguiça e seja meio brega, consegue funcionar pelo excelente timing). Além de toda a diversão garantida, tem cenas de ação bem feitas até. Não diria que é uma obra-prima, mas é obviamente uma surpresa, um filme que garante o interesse do início ao fim e é um ótimo passatempo.… Expand
