There's also an odd editing rhythm that perfectly conveys how this temp passes by unnoticed as a potential ticking time-bomb. "She's One of Us" is a little different. Christine's potential for violence is not necessarily her nature, but is simply a product of her intense job dissatisfaction. Rather than leave behind a trail of bodies, Christine returns to model citizenry after her employment situation is more secure. Her evasion of the law isn't particularly exciting but it's not meant to be. Maybe it should've been. You don't particularly care if Christine goes to jail or not because her character is so inert. Eerie, a bit macabre. The pale reviews leave me head scratching. I found myself sucked in from the get go and the rather unconventional camera work lent itself very well to the eerie tone of the film. A bit sad but very interesting and on Eerie, a bit macabre. Certainly a noble first effort by a talented director, I was somewhat confused by the plot, though I knew the the premise, and so what?
