Great movie, enjoyable throughout! The entire cast is lovable, especially Haley Joel Osment and Retta, I could hear her words of wisdom all day. Terrific movie with a fun, all-star cast. Tons of funny moments but keeps its center of gravity around Haley Osment's character. Fantastic feature debut by director Isaac Feder.

Her role was small but she made it memorable. Definitely worth the watch. Expand

After realizing how poorly educated these kids are about sex, he decides to teach them himself—even though he’s a virgin. Eddie (Osment), while trying to educate his class, land his dream girl and get his life on track. As he confronts the shortcomings in the school system’s sex ed curriculum, he’s forced to confront the shortcomings in his own life, pushing this comedy past the usual boundaries of the genre.
It’s a raunchy, funny movie that shows women as people and middle school boys as hopelessly confused by the Internet, and addresses these issues through the voice of the main character, Eddie and Retta as the wise bartender he consults about his problems. The balance between sexual humor and actual issues makes this a movie worth watching that people will be sure to laugh though.

Haley Joel Osment’s performance as a virginal sex ed teacher is consistent, super likable, and responsible for some of the moments in the film that made me laugh the most. The sexual subject matter of the film is well-handled and positive, and really focuses on some wise points, such as the idea of creating conversations about sex amongst youth to promote education, as well as speaking against the stigma of virginity in men. Any comedy that can address such imperative topics while also making me laugh out loud is commendable in my book. Expand

"It's like 'School of Rock' but about sex instead of music" I'm thinking that was the pitch for this one and it's almost accurate. Many of the raunchy comedy bits work on their own but combined with the earnest sincerity

"It's like 'School of Rock' but about sex instead of music" I'm thinking that was the pitch for this one and it's almost accurate.

Many of the raunchy comedy bits work on their own but combined with the earnest sincerity and general (but slightly odd) likability of the star - the movie just never gels. The laughs are few and, despite the "slow clap" scene, we don't actually feel for anybody by the end.

The film drags overall - I'm not sure a different edit would help but it couldn't hurt.

Great cast, a rare comedy that is also able to address serious issues, and all from an indie film. Can't say enough of the performances by Haley Joel Osment, Glen Powell, Abby Elliott, and others, or how good and funny all the kids are. Can't say enough of the performances by Haley Joel Osment, Glen Powell, Abby Elliott, and others, or how good and funny all the kids are. And the music's fabulous. Seen it twice and definitely think if you're up for a raunchy yet caring comedy you should check this out. Great work from director Isaac Feder. Expand

Haley Joel Osment was really successful in the role of the sex ed teacher and it was great to see him teach sex ed in such an upfront and informed manner. You don’t normally see sex addressed so openly and with such regard for both genders in comedies but this one did so without sacrificing laughs or story! Expand

It managed to talk about the importance of sex ed classes in schools without diverging from the plot; the flag director Isaac Feder chooses to take up works seamlessly with the raunchy comedy genre, and makes it possible to look at the film from multiple perspectives. The cast did a great job of making the story believable and, most importantly, hilarious. Haley Joel Osment couldn't have chosen a better film for his return to film. After The Sixth Sense, he's proved that he can shine in a comedy. Retta, and Glen Powell's characters were also funny and memorable. Though their characters are modeled after popular tropes in comedy and coming-of-age films, they still manage to make their characters stand out both in the film and compared to other comedies. Overall, this is a movie I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who has yet to see it. Expand
