This overly talky, slowly paced, hyper-analytical slog is about as entertaining as a root canal. And the real shame here is that this could have been an excellent premise for being both observant and funny. "Save Yourselves!" may indeed be an appropriate title, but mainly as an admonition to would-be viewers to stay away and save themselves the price of admission. Expand

I think before production at least two guys were drugged by aliens. The screen writer and director. But they missed their epinephrine shot.

If this is the future of filmmaking, I guess it's time to turn off our devices.

The liberals make plenty of political hot-takes to show just how woke and good people they are, yet go on to show how ignorant they are in nearly every instance after.

I found the couple unlikable and the "jokes" didnt hit at all.

The ending was poor and i really worry about future humans who are about to waste their time watching this terrible film.

Im pretty rubbish with my words, but please consider my review carefully or else you will also regret the 90 minutes of your life you wasted!

WATCH SOMETHING ELSE, PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

Original and funny - loved the performances. What’s particularly great about it is how unafraid it is to be earnest

While there, the planetJohn Reynolds and Sunita Mani play a hip Brooklyn couple who are typically attached to their devices. In an attempt to reconnect with each other, they disconnect from the world to spend a weekend in an isolated cabin. While there, the planet endures an alien invasion that eventually involves them. The beginning of the movie effectively portrays the self-indulgent narcissism of this hipster culture along with their reliance on social media. However, when it’s time for the extraterrestrial encounters, there’s little suspense and the comic moments are slight…a lot more distressed ranting than action. Overall, this is a low-budget indie with an promising concept and admirable intentions that aren’t always achieved. Expand

I must say that’s because the actors portraying them did such a phenomenal job. While it’s somewhat the point of the movie not to like them, in a small way, I almost turned the movie off several times as the sever amount of annoyance just kept building for me. They are the kind of people that I go to great lengths to avoid. That said the suspense and tension going on in the background kept me watching in hopes of seeing any and all of the hijinks that could happen (mostly for what could happen to them). The story is fairly simple, but there are some complex situations that the leads have to navigate. I wouldn’t call it funny, but I get why it’s billed as a “Sci-Fi Comedy” even if it’s just as little a sci-fi as much as it isn’t that funny. I’m trying to think of a film to compare it to, but right now in the heat of just watching it I can’t pull one from the top of my head. I think that’s why in the end I liked it so much. And the characters grew on me. Because of all of that I’d recommend watching it. Expand

Yes, they are a little device addicted, but they also care about each other and treat each other well. They are both a little neurotic without it being overbearing, and the various touches of romance and affection throughout especially the first part really work for me. The light alien horror element was done reasonably well, although that was secondary to the character relationships for me. This is *not* an incisive social commentary, but it is a fun movie. Expand
