Saturday the 14th

"Halloween II" was funnier by accident than Saturday the 14th manages to be on purpose. Decidedly not a parody of all those very parodyable endangered teen-ager movies like "Friday the 13th" -- though that's what its misleading title implies -- "Saturday" merely resurrects a passel of haunted-house wheezes so antique that even the Bowery Boys would be driven to groans by them. More a standard haunted-house comedy than a parody of FRIDAY THE 13TH, this uninspired farce rarely succeeds...Pitifully childish on all counts, SATURDAY THE 14TH really doesn't contain anything fresh or funny, save one gag in which the gill man emerges from a bubble bath. Read full review

It's an unfunny horror-filmparody with a cast headed by Richard Benjamin, Paula Prentiss and Severn Darden , directed and written by Howard R. Cohen, who shouldn't be trusted to park the cars of such people, much less make a movie with them. Read full review
