The first news I saw on my Twitter feed on Sunday was precisely the announcement that Ryuichi Sakamoto had passed away and, although that was an announcement, I knew I would see sooner or later considering his battle with cancer, it didn'tThe first news I saw on my Twitter feed on Sunday was precisely the announcement that Ryuichi Sakamoto had passed away and, although that was an announcement, I knew I would see sooner or later considering his battle with cancer, it didn't lessen the blow in any way.

This documentary requires prior knowledge of him and his work, but that doesn't make it difficult to take in in any way, in fact, I think watching him observe his own mortality along with how he is performing artistically has a tone that can perhaps seem a bit sad, but in light of what it now represents for his legacy is a perhaps small but meaningful celebration for this excellent musician.… Expand
