Um filme excepcionalmente promissor, o começo me lembrou bastante o "Noites brutais", com a ambientação típica e digna de um suspense, e ainda por cima sendo mais evidente o romance da protagonista com o rapaz que virá a ser seu algoz.
As atuações estão apenas ok, mas a direção consegueUm filme excepcionalmente promissor, o começo me lembrou bastante o "Noites brutais", com a ambientação típica e digna de um suspense, e ainda por cima sendo mais evidente o romance da protagonista com o rapaz que virá a ser seu algoz.
As atuações estão apenas ok, mas a direção consegue captar o nível de tensão, você aperta os dedos seguindo a câmera na iminência de encontrar o menor sinal de alerta de perigo, e quando ocorre, o "Run" escrito na tela ficou sensacional, você embarca junto.
Ocorre que o desenrolar é tudo genérico demais, é como se, ao começar a diversão, fosse inserida a mensagem já citada acima e, a partir daí, o desleixo pudesse tomar conta da produção. Não há mais nada inovador, não há mais nada que nos prenda, e para piorar, as soluções do roteiro para pôr a mocinha sempre em perigo são tão desleixadas quanto o desfecho.
Estava indo bem como terror psicológico e perseguição da masculinidade tóxica, mas foi adentrar pelo reino do sobrenatural que o filme se perdeu de vez, criando um monstro risível, no lugar de algo que realmente era assustador.
Quando é que as produtoras irão entender que o terror mental é bem mais poderoso do que um monstro que consegue se regenerar? Que o suspense é mais agoniante do que uma chuva de sangue? E que piegas uma "água benta" hein? O filme tornou-se involuntariamente uma comédia.
Além de tudo isso, os personagens secundários foram uma espécie de caricatura, ainda bem que ao menos a mocinha é digna e consegue segurar a projeção.… Expand

Ella Balinska plays a competent lead within what the story gives her to do her job, yet the film is tremendously forgettable.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So I was really into it for about 70 percent way through. Then they do the slight reveal. He was sent to keep men in power blah blah….I’m like dude this took a nose dive into feminism. If that’s your cup of tea you’ll probably love the movie. I’m not a big fan and sadly I found it to be extremely distracting and disappointing. What a shame. Could have been really good. Missed an opportunity.… Expand
