It was a great movie about a young female hero. I can’t see why the critics didn’t like it. It wasn’t political and it wasn’t cheesy. I wasn’t sure what to expect so I was pleasantly surprised as it captured my attention from the very beginning. Zoe was inspiring with her vulnerability and her bravery in an unprecedented, horrific circumstance. My girls thought she was a total bad ass. Forget the critics - they always have ulterior motives with their reviews. I believe those who are leaving negative reviews are unable to put their opposing views aside with who’s behind the scenes to see this movie objectively. I really liked it. Now I know it’s tempting to call me a white supremacist but hold off. Political I’m a centrist and was raised by two teachers. Unfortunately English wasn’t my strong suit so please forgive me if this is poorly written

Isabel May is exceptional in this film, and shows the audiences, that she can play a well thought out young women, who had to become strong for some reason, you'll find in the movie... not just some funny young teen who lives in a buble... And this is her first movie, before this she was only in series!

At the wery end, something bothered me... Wont spoil it completly. Some object is left on the ground unsupervised. And in real life that just wouldn't happen that way...

But besides that, the film makes a good case about bullies and there victims, in a way, that no matter what victims soffer from a classmate or from a teacher in the past, could used as any kind of excuse for murder!

And that's why the leftist media will make sure, to rate this film down, with critics, who are afraid, if they don't do what they are told, they will be canceled!

So if anyone would like to rate this movie besides me, give it your honest opinion, even if you don't liked it for some reason. To end mine:
This is a good saturday night film alone, or with friends!… Expand

Thrilling from start till end. I would dare say, the best movie I've seen from 2020.
The only reason it seemed to not score well with critics is the fact it was distributed by a company hated by the main stream media.

Spoiler Alert: This is Definitely not a Christian produced film as it is gritty [violence, profanities, a partial nudity, and Biblical theological inaccuracies] but even so, it does show loving sacrifices made by caring people, Christian and non-Christian characters alike to overcome evil. In our current societal climate, this film has it's place as it could be used as a teaching tool for parents, school staff and "Powers that Be" to prepare all those who may be interested in enhancing school security/defense. It also conveys an insight to what may be seen/heard, the spirit and mentality behind such attacks, and the mindset needed to counter it and prevail. With all that in mind, I do hope you watch the film.… Expand

Our protagonist, Zoe comes with her fair share of baggage which we see in mostly interesting exchanges with her dead mother and how sometimes life is about letting go. This is an interesting parallel between her and the antagonists of the film who have chosen to let go in a far more destructive way. The film does come with a number of "gut check" moments as well which will likely incite some level of discomfort with people. Given the premise of the plot, that should go without saying but the execution of said moments does a fantastic job of indicating to the audience the gravitas of the situation, providing a sense that the stakes are high. While the ending does come off mildly cliche, it does wrap things up in neat bow.… Expand

Awesome movie! One of the best I've seen in a long time. I loved how realistic it was. The realism reminded me of Saving Private Ryan. The action sequences were great too! None of that fake James Bond type of hero where bullets always miraculously miss them and the good guy never misses. The setup was awesome, the drama and suspense of the middle kept me hooked, and the ending was awesome! Normally I can call the ending from just watching a few minutes, but this one surprised me at each step all the way to the end.
The biggest challenge was to get it working with my Roku TV, but it's definitely worth jumping through all the hoops!… Expand

Her performance impacted me in a way I never thought a film like this ever could provide. The story was also well constructed, easy to follow, and flowed well enough to constantly have your attention. The music was great too, always adding to the scenes. I hope one day it is available on more platforms than the Daily Wire so I don’t have to support them as I had to pay for the lowest subscription for one month in order to view this movie, but that wasn’t more than renting a movie on Amazon anyway so I can’t really complain. Also just so more people have access to it! All in all I would highly recommend watching this movie regardless of where you can view it.… Expand

The director captured the essence of child psychology PERFECTLY. The way the main kid tries to act like the joker the way kids overly force an act out when trying to make others understand that the kid is trying to act like a powerful villain even though the kids when they do it are cringey and pathetic - the fact that they included that kind of immaturity is spot on.
The need for social media attention.
The girl school shooter's character is exactly how you'd expect an overdramatic attention seeking drug addict girl dressed in all black with no sense of consequences for her actions to act.

Let me reiterate: The directing, characters, LINES were all perfect. Spot on. SURPRISING how detailed the characters and dialogue was and not unrealistic or cringey unlike literally every other movie.

The ACTING from EVERYONE in the movie was unreal. You couldn't even tell they were playing a part, even the extras. I can't believe how much better than Hollywood this is.

Worth every penny. EVERY penny.… Expand

Ultimate payoff, that’s what this movie is! The critics are reacting to ugly events regarding one of Cinestate’s producers amongst other things... nothing to do with the movie, it’s stars or director.... By similar logic, every WeinsteinUltimate payoff, that’s what this movie is! By similar logic, every Weinstein associated film needs to be pummelled into the ground never to be seen again. But they aren’t, are they?! So why is it applied here?
I guess professional critics review by politics and incentives now, don’t take notice of them. Look at the score by us little guys, that’s the real thing.
This movie is freaking ace, great pacing, great acting and an utterly kickass lead in Isabel May. I’m pondering if this movie is better than Die Hard... Right now, having just finished watching it... A really excellent, exciting and well shot thriller. A little predictable, unfortunately. Ignore the critics, they are doing their best to not give it a positive review. It's no 0 or 30. Mais ce film n’a aucune leçon a donner à cet sujet, ni de réponse ou de reflexion à proposer : l’on y suit simplement l’une des lycéennes prise dans la tourmente des évènements, une lycéenne… héroïque ! fille de militaire, elle a qui tenir et si ce n’était le cas, elle serait alors la petite fille de Rambo… ou de John McClane en personne !

En effet, ce « Run Hide Fight » est exactement ce qu’il veut dire et a fortiori un Die Hard au campus ! mené tambour battant avec ici et là une partie psychologique qui aurait mérité plus d’attention, notamment l’héroïne et sa (gentille) névrose à propos de sa chère maman.. disparue.

Le film a par conséquent les qualités de ses défauts et vice-versa… en tant que Die Hard, il s’avère excellent et parfaitement maîtrisé mais pour le ‘réalisme’ ou la crédibilité, peu importe comment on appelle ça, c’est clairement pas son rayon ! c’est une guerrière cette gamine, la digne fille de… qui déjà ? ah oui, Sarah Connor ! et de McClane, oui tout à fait.

Bref, ne pas chercher plus loin que midi à quatorze heures avec ce truc : c’est du bon divertissement qui ne se pose pas de questions inutiles ou superflues… et laisse ça à d’autres !… Expand

I sat down to watch this with my wife knowing that the advertising for it made it look great, so my expectations were high - to say the least - and they were exceeded, to also say the least.

The acting in this was phenomenal, especially on the part of the main actress protagonist and the actor portraying the antagonist. The supporting roles were also absolutely nailed and the emotion was felt throughout the film. I'm not sure how this movie is anything less than an 8, but the fact that it isn't straight out of Hollywood probably has something to do with it.… Expand

Wow such a emotional movie. Beautiful, Heartbreaking, disturbing and scary. It's also very realistic almost too realistic it really draws you in and makes feel for all the characters. And the main character was just so awesome and ba.

Excellent thriller reminiscent of Die Hard and with a strong female lead- I was concerned the film may push political content, but the only real sign of politicization seems to be the low critic rating... Will definitely watch again.

The movie as a whole may not be the absolute best movie I've ever seen. However good performances in general and a good story line along with good cinematography and soundtrack boosted in my view the whole thing. EDIT: I should also note, yes I signed up to review this movie. Yes it's my only review, but do you know why? I watch films all the time, I love plenty of the same classics that I'm sure other folks do as well across most genres. The reason is because I generally don't feel compelled to share my opinions on sites like this, so I never signed up an account despite generally feeling the reviews on many movies are honestly quite terrible. But seeing the solid evidence that people wouldn't give this movie a fair shake? Yeah that was enough for me to give out my email address, sign up for an account and share this review. Will I do more of it? Maybe we'll see, I don't think it's that practical a use of my time. But when I see a decent/good maybe better than many things being shown movie panned by the critics, and other reviews insulted as "bots" well I'm willing to write something myself. So take this with a grain of salt and it's worth what you paid for it. I liked the movie and if this is written by a bot god help us all since the programmers grammar sucks.… Expand

For the first movie produced by The Daily Wire, its very good. The acting was unexpectedly good. The content is timely and the theme of fighting back and fighting for others is definitely needed. Well done and well worth watching.

I thought every aspect of this movie was great. The acting, the casting, the story it told. It was a narrative, a drama and an action flick but did not try to sell a message nor perspective. It concentrated on telling a good story, which it did.

I'd say the majority of content out there is sub par but Metacritic usually gets it right. This film had 0 political agenda.It didn't go for any cheesey one liners or impossible forced scenarios. It didn't try too hard to shove something in your face. It certainly does not lecture you either.

We can all assume this film was bombed by 6 biased "critics" because Ben Shapiro owns the Daily Wire, a person who is often misquoted & outrageously "cancelled" for saying reasonable things. Whatever your opinions are, you should check them at the door. You are attempting to the ruin the careers of a talented cast & crew. All I can say about this film is it has a strong cast, good direction, and doesn't try too hard to pull at your emotions or to make someone look like a badass. Everything felt natural.

This movie has nothing to do with gun rights, politics, or sexism. I am happy to see more from this company & cast.… Expand

I'm a pretty harsh critic, so getting anything over 7 stars is a rarity from me. To get the bad out of the way... there were a few (very few) cliche moments in the beginning and end, and a few times where the acting or character motivation...I'm a pretty harsh critic, so getting anything over 7 stars is a rarity from me. To get the bad out of the way... there were a few (very few) cliche moments in the beginning and end, and a few times where the acting or character motivation... eh, kind of fell short.

And, since I'm a stickler on these things, some of the gun physics were off. Bullets would have flown right through that (spoiler alert) and unless the were incendiary rounds, don't make sparks like that. Or that click-chick sound when you pick it up. But I have to say, compared to most movies, even those fake things were pretty minor.

So, honestly, that's all I can say bad about the movie. Which, again, is pretty good, if you know me. There was action that felt very real. The movie didn't pull punches. The villain was perhaps a tiny bit shallow, but actually pretty good. A believable mastermind smartass kid who was out to... well, watch the movie.

The hero was a fun-to-watch badass, and in the right way. Not some scrawny girl (which she was, very petite) who can someone one-punch knockout a large grown man, but who instead used what she had to win. Nothing drives me crazier in today's movies than that overly fake attempt at gritty action, and this movie just did it better. Well done.

Other than that, the plotting was good, the characterization of even the minor characters good (even Louis made me laugh), and the whole thing with her mom was very well executed. All in all, I give it an 8.5- rounded up to a 9 because metacritic won't let me do decimals. And I'm the harsh critic. The wife yelled at the TV multiple times, so she was totally into it. And action movies aren't her thing.

Definitely worth a watch.… Expand
