The critics that were most harsh don't generally like sci-fi, so I went in with an open mind - and am so glad I did! The story was gripping, the effects amazing, and Tracey really rocked the emotions and steered the story. I was completely engaged for the whole film! Her and Hoagland were the best part of the whole film... Nicely done! Expand

The best advice I can give is to go in to watching this one with no expectations. It fits a lot into a single film, requires a few times revisiting to catch all the small things they fit in there.

The best advice I can give is to go in to watching this one with no expectations. It fits a lot into a single film, requires a few times revisiting to catch all the small things they fit in there.

The first time through you may be going "Wait, What?!" but on subsequent viewings a lot of the small things they fit in make sense. Really I would have rather seen this set as a multi part TV special as there's a lot of room to expand. Fortunately I've seen on the web that may be happening. I was lucky enough to go catch this at one of the showings in Los Angeles and went to buy a copy for myself afterwards. The Q&A there had a lot of information that makes some of the other reviews on her laughable. For instance they really did their own stunts in this. Skullcrusher, Sienna, Blister? They ran all over and fell and joked about all their injuries from doing so. The fact they spoke of how hot those days were added a lot of respect to those scenes in a wasteland. If they're sweating and grimacing that's real. Give me lens flares then, the struggle the Actors are going through is the real focus in this film. Sweeping character arcs are crammed in to the point if you only watch it once you may miss some of the events. There's a lot of them.

This reminds me of the good old Sci-Fi days when you didn't bicker over special effects but the story and it had to be more than just techno-babble. There's action, there's drama, there are a lot of questions still needing to be answered. But in a way that leaves you curious. Give it a few watches, you'll need it.

Worth a watch especially for the women out there!

CONS: Some of the robot voices are hard to understand. A lot of lens flares. Have to watch a few times to figure out the plot as it's really fond of twists and turns even though it seems straightforward at first.

PROS: Finally we have a male character who is the eye candy! I think that maybe some of the annoyed reviews is because SkullCrusher is essentially taking place of the traditional girly sidekick who is there to look pretty. He can act, but his arms are very distracting. ;) The story is interesting, a few moments that caught me off guard. A female action star that is actually kicking ass and gets utterly filthy and sweaty and looks like running in those boots is a giant pain but doable. I'm very tired of watching girls bounce in dental floss and appreciate they didn't constantly refresh her makeup to look dewy instead of tired and gritty. Essentially all women out there, watch this. There's only a few women in this film but they all have an interesting roll -would have liked to see more of Xarxis(?)- and I took it as a tongue in cheek poke at classic storytelling. If you'd made Sienna a male character I bet a lot of these reviews would have been nicer.
