After seeing the older installments of the series, I expected to see a rival fighter with some character. Also, it seemed like Stallone was really forcing himself to get back to character, and failed while doing so. If you are younger, like me, and are a fan of the old Rocky movies, I would avoid seeing this one. The movie has a deeper meaning about aging, but for me personally, it ruined the entire series. Overall, not a horrible movie, but I would avoid seeing it. If you have not seen the older Rocky movies, see those instead! Expand

This movie was a huge disaapointment! Why bother fighting at 60 yrs old? Why? The trainer remarks he has no speed, no agility and all we can rely on is massive trauma. The trainer remarks he has no speed, no agility and all we can rely on is massive trauma. Even the fight is pointless unless you could match Rocky in his prime against the champ who by the way has absolutley no personality. Rocky has heart but there is a time to let things go and move on without having to prove something you have already proven. Rocky deserved better, sorry SLY. Expand

A disaster of a movie - a 60 year old fighting a 30 year old?! I don't think so - Very poor, very shallow, one of the worst films i've seen for ages. Has about as much depth as "Scooby Doo".

OMG, this movie isn't bad, it is probably the most pathetic display ive ever seen...its not that I don't understand Sly's need to be a hero again, its more difficult to get how people actually like it...pityful.

I was extremely disappointed after watching this movie. I have watched the older Rocky films at least 4 or 5 times each, and this movie seemed really forced. It just doesn't work. There is absolutely NO boxing or training or action I was extremely disappointed after watching this movie. I have watched the older Rocky films at least 4 or 5 times each, and this movie seemed really forced. It just doesn't work. There is absolutely NO boxing or training or action until the last 30 minutes of the movie. Also, the fighter who opposes Rocky has absolutely no personality, unlike Apollo Creed, Ivan Drago, or Clubber Lang. I honestly had a bad feeling in my stomach 5 days after watching this movie. Stallone tries to mimic himself from 20 years ago, but it just doesn't work. I advise fans of the Rocky series to avoid this movie at all costs, because this has completely ruined Rocky for me. Personally, I trusted the reviews and was severely disappointed, so I advise anyone planning to see this movie to avoid it, unless you like slow, sentimental movies instead of boxing. Expand

I was hesitant to believe the skeptics as I couldn't understand how it was possible for a delusional episode involving so many people to occur. However, now I know that mass delusion is a legitimate phenomenon. 'Rocky Balboa' is not, unlike so many professional, and amateur critics have stated, an inspirational film. It sucked big time. I was going to write a full appraisal of this film, but due to my disillusionment with the authenticity of the Miracle at Fatima, and with it the disappearance of any slither of Faith I had left, I don't think I will bother. Thanks 'Rocky Balboa'. Thank you, for this nihilistic nightmare you have delivered upon me. Twice. Expand
