It's not so much the shoestring budget, but the amateurish performances that hamper "Robot Stories"; in particular, the female lead in "My Robot Baby". She was the weak link in a well-received studio film in '93, and here as well. She was the weak link in a well-received studio film in '93, and here as well. "My Robot Baby" brought back memories of that gussied-up sack of flour I took care of for a week. It's a good idea that's squandered by acting that draws our attention to the digital video. "The Robot Fixer" is okay. "Clay" needs more time in the kiln. "Robot Love", however, is provocative, better than anything George Lucas, or Shields & Yarnell, ever came up with.… Expand
