A film that, migrants aside, could be liked as much by Meloni, Orban, Trump, as by their self-styled opponents of the progressive political area, says a lot about one of the greatest post-conciliar enigmas, the obstinacy with which for about half a century Ratzinger lashed out against a phantomatic new danger for the Church after atheism: relativism, a plurality of theoretical and practical paradigms antagonistic to magisterial doctrine. The history of our culture has recorded an attitude of diametrically opposite sign, the homologation towards a single globalized thought, the Thatcherian "TINA", "There Is No Alternative".
