Während die Untaten von Mafia oderRevenge of the Green Dragons zeigt, dass nicht nur Fußballer früh anfangen: Ende der 80er fliehen zwei Jungen von Hongkong nach Ellis Island – und geraten sofort in die Fänge der Queens-Gang Green Dragons. Während die Untaten von Mafia oder Yakuza zumindest einem verqueren Moralkodex folgen, geht der chinesischen Variante jedwede Menschlichkeit ab: Ohne Grund wird geprügelt, geraubt und vergewaltigt, selbst vor der Verwandschaft macht man nicht halt. So ist die Eskalation vorprogrammiert – und reißt beide Knirpse mit in den Abgrund. Auch wenn Martin Scorcese produziert und Andrew Lau (Internal Affairs) Co-Regie führt, ist Revenge of the Green Dragons kein Meisterwerk – wohl aber ein nostalgischer Ausflug ins Gang-Thriller-Genre der Reagan-Ära. Lau inszeniert seine Hommage temporeich, unprätentiös stylish und äußerst brutal. Der Plot ist zwar vorhersehbar und ohne große Wendungen, dafür winkt ein unangenehmes Ende und ein garstiger Kommentar auf das Geschäft mit Einwanderern.… Expand

I'm not sure of labeling this movie as a thriller, but it has elements though its strongest base is to show how this Eastern mafia operates in a fully western world.

Revenge Of The Green Dragons is a failed movie, somewhat entertaining butI'm not sure of labeling this movie as a thriller, but it has elements though its strongest base is to show how this Eastern mafia operates in a fully western world.

Revenge Of The Green Dragons is a failed movie, somewhat entertaining but failed in general, if they like the genre they will find it a little more passable, but for me it is a movie that I would not see a second time.… Expand
