For me it was extremly boring and finaly when some action came in it was 15 minutes before end. It was the avarage movie about revange and defending the last thing that left for main character that everybody already saw at least once.

This movie is the definition of a straight to Redbox action flick that should be instantly forgotten by everyone. Shame on Stallone for ruining a great character with this trash script.

The revengeThis starts off surprisingly well and should have been a standalone movie without the Rambo character (the brand recognition was their only reason to make it of course) but degenerates into the awful needless sequel expected. The revenge story is so very tired and the violence so ridiculously gratuitously over-the-top to the point of spoof (even more than the last gruesome shameful entry, "Rambo" of 2008), the makers should all be punished. "First Blood" (10) was truly a great movie, the only serious one. "Rambo: First Blood Part II" (5) was a rousing silly cartoon and enormous hit. The rest all lousy, the third the only even viable. Unquestionably there are many people who enjoy action films regardless of their quality. And Rambo is an icon of the genre, therefore a lot of people will be interested in watching a new film of the character.

For my part it has never been like this and therefore I wasn't particularly attracted to this new installment.

Last Blood is nothing more than another empty addition to Sylvester Stallone's career, it doesn't add anything to the franchise or the character for that matter and let's be honest after so many years Rambo is something that's more or less outdated and this film shows it because it obviously tries to sustain its incredible hollow plot with violence.

It wasn't for me.

One of the worst films of 2019 and the worst movie of the franchise. Stallone should have learned from A Good Day To Die Hard and ended with 4.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Rambo Last blood is basically 2 movies. The first part being a half-way decent rescue movie against a Mexican cartel. The 2nd movie is basically a horror-fans fantasy... watch these 18 men all die 1 by 1 by the gruesome monster! It sure seems like the writers just gave up one day or the budget ran out, so they tacked on the 2nd part. But... for a series finale, it was still probably an ok way to go out. The montage during the credits was a nice touch. Expand

Lets start off with this , there is no reason what so ever to make or view this film. For a fan of the original Rambo movie this endeavor is just sad and pathetic. I will start with the fact that it contains only cardboard cut outs of caricatures, lets roll the list.
Rambo after years of bad plastic surgery he has become a horse rancher on a ranch that has 3 horses, hardly a sustainable ranch. Abuelita , just that.
The young daughter of a friend or something , any way Rambo raised her supposedly, but she has no self defense or life skills, Rambo I guess would not share that skill set with his step children. But he will dig a giant network of caves in the ranch. Also the female lead or what ever is taught the ultimate lesson and the lesson is do what rambo tells you or you will end up dead in a mexican whore house strung out on smak.
There is a shady 80s chola who is an old pal of the female lead, straight from central casting for 80s chola.
There is also a journalist, que lazy writing for a cut out of a journalist and that is what you get.
And the bad guys, they only lack ponchos and sombreros.
This film a racist tirade that gives way to a portrayal of a serial killer. Do not get me wrong I love a good slasher film and action films are fantastic but this is just dumb and boring and really belongs in a new genre of trash films that are unwatchable.

It has a simple message stated by Rambo: Some people have black hearts, and no one can change the world for the better. If you want to believe that, go right ahead. No one asked for an hour long "education" on the horrors of human trafficking (I went to the movies to see an action movie. If you want to know about human trafficking, there are plenty of documentaries covering the subject). Only the final action scene was fun. I doubt anyone would want to see this movie twice. A nearly two hour long action movie shouldn't have only one major action scene at the end. You could sleep though the whole movie and just watch the last 30 minutes to get all the fun this movie has. No one needs such a long dreary buildup to the action. It is easily the worst Rambo movie. Expand

And what amazes me most about this movie is that they are trying so hard to be like Sicario: Day of the Soldado in a way that's mindless and relevant that presses the audience buttons in a good way or in the bad way by keeping these bad hombres out of the country kind of way. Either way, this film is just a mindless cashgrabbing action thriller that can be enjoyed if you don't care about the plot. Sly still got it in this last installment of Rambo though except that it was bad in a 360° narrative and technical perspective. Expand

Film critics went to this movie to watch a movie. Not to validate their worship of a character who has been complete garbage since the second film in the series. At best, any movie in the series after First Blood, including this one, is a dumb brainless splashy meatfest. At worst, Last Blood is a weird violent fantasy for the "THEY TERKER JERBS DERKER DER" crowd. Save your money and spend them on Stallone projects that are actually worth something, like BluRays of the Rocky and Creed films.

Terrible pacing, CGI that might actually be worse than 4's, completely meaningless characters outside of Rambo himself, and a finale and ending that feels rushed and dissatisfying when compared to the previous entries. Not to mention the trailers spoiled all of the good parts, straight up.

Rambo is a cinematic icon, so Stallone had to go down fighting for this final installment. After suffering thru the inevitableRambo is a cinematic icon, so Stallone had to go down fighting for this final installment. Instead of opposing an evil government conspiracy, he's after a Mexican who kidnaps women to serve as whores. After suffering thru the inevitable purposeful dramatic moments, Rambo finally gets to set up an elaborate scheme of booby traps, which only makes sense because it gives him a high kill count. (Why didn't he just blow up the tunnel and get them all at once?) The action isn't especially original or inventive, but it does give Stallone a chance to be viciously bloody. LAST BLOOD is an anemic finale to the man and the films. The most interesting part of the movie was the montage of earlier Rambo movies. Expand

Watched this movie during the COVID-19 lock-down and it was everything I thought it would be. It is absolute garbage. It took almost an hour before we got any action lasting more than 5 seconds, the setting is idiotic, Sly does what he can but there's zero characters of any weight in it if not for Rambo himself and he's just a brutal old man, the action is stupid, it's just brutality for the sake of it, guys with their heads blown of gets another shotgun shell for no reason, some of the effects are terrible, some of the cinematography looks like it's out of Two and a Half Men, a lot happens of camera but at least that means the movies only 90 minutes but worst of all..... This has nothing to do with a Rambo movie. It's like a Taken/John Wick hybrid with bad action scenes and zero believability. IT was like watching the last Die Hard. IT had nothing to do with Die Hard. It was just Bruce Willis doing stuff. Eventhough the 2nd and 3rd Rambo movie go a bit 80's action movie bonkers it's still Rambo movies. John Rambo has to do something because he's the only one that can. In the 4th one the plot is so dumb but Rambo as a character stays true to himself. Here he wants revenge because some girl did something stupid. In the 2nd and 3rd movie he has to save the POW's or Trautman because of the mission he is on or was asked to do. They still have ties to First Blood because he's still dealing with the war and is trying to do the right thing. Here it's just revenge and it's **** Pointless. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really disappointed by the thin as paper script. They were just looking for an excuse for Rambo to kill a bunch of men. They happen to be stupid too.
1) Gang leader likely never does the job himself or will only show up when target is disabled for the kill
2) If first few gang members fall and you see how, you don't continue to pursue target in tunnels only he knows, but smoke / burn him out
3) What happened to the famous tactic of wounding opponent to distract the enemy troops? He should just let them scream...
4) The ending is just rediculous...

For me it would have been better if he hunted them one by one over a longer period of time to really give them time to be scared. First disable their cars and then do his guerrila thing. End by putting the mutilated (but maybe still alive) gang leader with a cross on his cheek on the mexican border with a sign 'Child Murderer' or some setup where he needs to chose between suicide or a life of pain in jail.

To me Rambo didn't feel like much of a hero here. His first action was to walk into a trap like a n00b and then the girl he came to save died anyway.

Rambo isn't supposed to be about feel-good stuff I know, but I still say Stallone should have left it at 3. Learn to quit at your peak. I will just pretend I ever saw this movie.

The incipit is that of Coppola who forty years ago synthesized Vietnam, the Doors and symptoms of PTSD. The question of marketing is: how much can the re-proposal of a complaint against nihilism be of interest, when human culture is essentially imbued with survival strategies, defense mechanisms, attempts at escapism remedy from such an awareness? Tarantino has pointed the way: an affabulation that goes nowhere and so much grindhouse shooter ultraviolence to fill this cosmic void. Appreciated, praised, celebrated, Stallone and his new Rambo adapt themselves. And also David Morrell should try to understand what has changed in almost half a century instead of tweeting anathemas There is even a polarization of Hollywood geopolitics towards Mexico, from the Oscars to the "three amigos" and Coco to the new evil empire ("Breaking Bad", the Villeneuve of "Sicario"), but this has nothing to do with cinematic art.
