If there is anything one should know about making movies that cover such a topic, it would be wise to explore the situation as critically as possible...too late.
This movie does the dull favor of focusing more on the plot than on the story, which is a big mistake. Rather than fleshing out the theme of the horrors of human trafficking, it instead follows the mainly cliché outside character rather than the characters in the situation of human trafficking. This movie is actually the second movie of its kind to fail the exact same way this year alone.
Besides the theme and the characters, the pacing is pretty bad for about the first third of the movie because of an occasional lack of focus. Furthermore, by the end, this movie thinks it did its job very well and decides to advertise its website in hopes of donations that will go to stopping human trafficking.
On one hand, its a noble intention; on the other, the producers should do their homework on the bystander effect and actual stories of human trafficking from those who experienced it. When everything is accounted for, the movie fails in many respects and only earns a seal of expendability out of respect alone.
