While the movie's idea seemed interesting and all that, this for me is a typical movie which critics will love because of how art-sy it is and all that but storywise it felt a bit weird and sometimes sooo slow paced. Also the story at some points didn't make sense for me - like the woman becoming that guy - she seemed not well prepared at all, not knowing what to do at so many moments. Plus the whole idea seemed weird that she has to do random acts before actually killing someone there - like whats the point of that. It was ok and even though I am into movies that can be called mindf*** movies which this somewhat was , this one wasnt for me Expand

However, It kind of gets lost in its own world at times and that is ultimately where it loses me. It hits a wall early and it doesn't break through it until the near end of the film. The pacing in the middle section of the movie is a killer. Trim it down another 10 minutes and I think it would be a lot better. Expand

Interesting themes with an arresting style of camera direction. Love the pacing and placement of the longer shots. Great soundscape. The convoluted plot and sci fi muguffins kind of took me out of what started so well. Definitely worth your time.

(Mauro Lanari)
An incomprehensibly divisive film: Brandon was able to synthesize both of his father's poetics, the first on the new flesh and the second on the new psyche, but unlike the parent he let himself be imprisoned within the schemes of a genre, the useless brutality of the gore. He demonstrated that knows how to move from a style at risk of being too conceptual to admirable visual intuitions (as the Glazer of "Under the Skin", 2013), but he manifested shortcomings in the narrative construction (does the protagonist Tasya Vos kill her family because conditioned by her work as a murderess or on the contrary is she a mother and wife with homicidal impulses that tries to channel by acting as a killer?). Not a masterpiece or a garbage: a sufficient movie.

There's technology that allows assassins to take over the body of the public in order to carry out killings but our main character is having problems with her current assignment because her current host isn't letting her have complete control. It must be said that Cronenberg modified the plot just enough so it doesn’t feel formulaic. My feelings are mixed, but not without admiration for the film itself.
