A clear improvement for me and a return to story arcs and characters we enjoyed in the trilogy. It has also 2 new characters that work well and some new twists / ideas. It has 4 protagonist with Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Hector Barbossa,A clear improvement for me and a return to story arcs and characters we enjoyed in the trilogy. It has also 2 new characters that work well and some new twists / ideas. It has 4 protagonist with Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Hector Barbossa, Carina Smyth and Henry Turner. With Captain Armando Salazar we get a cruel, ambitious and menacing antagonist. I give you a set up for the characters: Jack Sparrow is out of luck and at a low point after a spectacular coup. He makes a mistake that will cause some of his worst nightmares to come true and starts the events of the movie. Henry Turner is the son of William Turner and Elisabeth Swan. He wants to save his father who is still cursed to be the Captain of the Flying Dutchman. Hector Barbossa has become rich, respected and famous but is on the edge to lose it all as Jack started some terrible events. Carina Smyth is a female adventure with remarkable knowledge and skills that does not want to be chained to what was expected from woman back then (Housewife's and mother with no formal education). She is searching a famous artifact. Finally there is Captain Armando Salazar. He was on a crusade to exterminate all pirates (and was quite successful back then) when he was tricked and cursed. Now he wants vengeance and to continue his work. The story works well. It is for me a good mix of old and new or to put it in other words: A return to the beginnings of the franchise and old and new characters interwoven. I like the excellent intro where Jack can fully deliver, the menacing antagonist that is Captain Salazar including the backstory, Carina and Henry and the conclusion that fixes a mayor complaint. I get that some see it as unoriginal but I refuse to agree. It is more immersive and emotionally attaching than the previous movie. The humor works better than in the previous movie. Lets go to the actors. Johnny Depp is back in his signature role and this time it is more refreshing. You see some new facets of his character and parts of his past. Geoffrey Rush is again Captain Hector Barbossa. Same is true for him. You see new facets and things from his past caught up. He is one of my favorite characters in the franchise. Javier Bardem as antagonist Captain Armando Salazar is so enjoyable. He is on a divine mission to wipe out all pirates. He is intimidating, cruel and self-righteous. You fell his anger and he becomes a dire menace. Brenton Thwaites works as Henry Turner. He instantly won me over as I never doubted his character and motives. Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smyth also won me over. She is clever, skilled and someone you want on your side. Maybe the “She is a witch” jokes are done to often or work not well enough. The humor in general works and there is a good combination of seriousness and humor. None takes away from the other. Again the sets, costumes, ships and weapons look great. It is a standard of the franchise. The battles feel great. It was intense and immersive. I want to praise the conclusions for the characters. It is satisfying and meaningful (Fixes also a complaint from At Worlds End). I nearly forgot to praise the soundtrack as it is given for me that all movies in the franchise have a great score. For those who complain it could have been far worse as this movie was in development hell and there are a lot of stories about issues and problems. Overall this was an enjoyable movie in the franchise. While some complain it gave me hope for the next installment. The overall story and characters won me over and I recommend it to watch.… Expand

Okay, so we know when we buy our ticket what to expect, right? And that is exactly what you are getting. There are some new characters this time around. Henry and Carina. There are some new characters this time around. Henry and Carina. Both are looking for the magic trident that can reverse the curses that have been put upon those at sea. Remember the living dead pirates who come back to harass the living? Henry's father is among them. And Carina is looking to fulfill a wish of her own set in motion by her absent father. Presumably deceased. Johnny Depp does make appearances, of course, but he is not the main character in this version. My feeling is that we have seen it all before. There is mothing really new or different in this sequel. For my money, you could watch any of the previous Pirates and get your Pirates fix.… Expand

I think the movie is alright, the main plot going with the current trend of feminism which does not surprise me at all. The story is a bit slow that I would have liked, but it was nice to see some old characters, "ship" back. Dead Men Tell No Tales feels like a fresh new start for Pirates of the Caribbean. After the conclusion of the original trilogy felt aimless and lacking both direction and the spirit of the first film. However, after watching DMTNT, I wasDead Men Tell No Tales feels like a fresh new start for Pirates of the Caribbean. After the conclusion of the original trilogy felt aimless and lacking both direction and the spirit of the first film. However, after watching DMTNT, I was reminded why loved the first movie so much. Pirates is the right mix of old and new, with favorites like Jack Sparrow and Barbossa (who are both given great material to work with) returning as well as new faces like Will and Elizabeth's son, Henry, as well as Carina Smyth, whom I don't want to spoil the revelation involving her. And their adventure to find the newest treasure of the Caribbean is easily the most fun I've had with a Pirates film since the first film. This is largely because, the script for the movie has so much heart and it avoids becoming overly complicated, a problem that plagued early films. The action is high-octane, the one-liners are hilarious, and when the film gets serious, the big pay-offs are surprisingly touching. Really the only two problems I have, are the "been there, done that" design of the villains, and the fact that I felt the movie wasn't the most welcoming to casual fans. I felt like my experience was greatly improved because I was familiar with the events of past films. However, I imagine that without that knowledge, people coming into the franchise for the first time might not understand the finer details or the weight some of the big climatic moments the movie has. Nonetheless, the film is just a fun adventure with a satisfying conclusion. I watched it with a smile on my face almost the entire time. I don't know whether or not the series will continue or not. If not, the series will end on a high note. If so, I'm excited to see what comes next. A Pirate's life for me. Yoho.… Expand

First of all I need to mention that I am A HUGE, HUUUUGE fan of the series, and the letdown of the 4th had much more negative effect on me than to non-fans. I came from cinema few hours ago and have fresh, thoughtful idea of this movie. IFirst of all I need to mention that I am A HUGE, HUUUUGE fan of the series, and the letdown of the 4th had much more negative effect on me than to non-fans. I came from cinema few hours ago and have fresh, thoughtful idea of this movie. I COMPLETELY disagree with "top" critics.
Let's start from good! I was not expecting it to be this good, this is WAY better than 4th, I think all can agree with this. Acting of supporting cast is great, story is pretty good and the cinematography is just perfect. The "young Jack" scene was good enough but still the CGI was noticeable. Now a bit of sad news: I did not like the "young couple" actors much and the ending was too cheesy, too Disney-ified.
Johnny Depp definitely feels tired here, tired of acting. I see less action and thrill when he is on screen.
First act with Depp was fun but silly, too silly, even for Pirates.
The idea of Salazar was very good and the connection with previous movies and movie logic made me "huuuh...I see...that's how it works I guess"...
But the jokes are dragged a lot, missing sometimes and Jack's comebacks are not funny. Plot very conveniently helps Barbosa, and for some reason has no connection with previous characters from 1,2,3 and 4 movies that much.
We see a very little of other known characters but some are never mentioned.
Also I noticed some continuity errors. And finally, the ending...
it makes sense but at the same time does not...I keep asking so many questions like why would that character do that and not what we expect? And of course why would the end of one character's story be in a such a dumb way...?
I really did not like how the handled Barbosa character in particular.
So...after all, I enjoyed the movie! It had its moments and freshness and oldness as well. 3.5/5 just because it kinda revived itself from disaster of 4th but also because this is the last movie....kinda... because there IS AN AFTER CREDITS SCENE...yeah....have a look… Expand

There are some good things,but the majority of the movie was filled with flaws. The pros are the Visual Effects and Javier Bardem,which was a good villain. I didn't enjoy Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow that much,except for that one scene that i can't tell because Spoilers. The other performances were fine. The major flaw i have with the movie is the 2nd act,where most of the parts are nonsensical and you don't understand what's happening with all that Shaky Cam rumbling your head. The action sequences were decent enough to entertain me,while most of the scenes were monotone,even though i wanted them to be funny...But in the end,Dead Men Tell No Tales was a decent 5th chapter,with some decent acting,brilliant visual effects and a weak story.… Expand

After the dissapointing fourth movie, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from another Pirates of the Carribean, but oh and behold, this one is... better. Going back to the roots of the franchise (at least in plot) the fifth installment ofAfter the dissapointing fourth movie, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from another Pirates of the Carribean, but oh and behold, this one is... better. Going back to the roots of the franchise (at least in plot) the fifth installment of the swasbuckling Disney's series is a lot more fun and entretaining that the previous one, with all around mostly funny lines, a heist that is easily one of the best moments of the franchise and a full circle in its story for the main characters of the series. While Johny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow will probably never be as cool and interesting as he was whe the series started, I can say that al least in this movie he seems to try harder and that helps him be fun for the most part. The new characters are a little bit on the nose, but as a said, back to basics seems to do, and after all, in this kind of movies the basics work for the better. The villain is interesting for the most part and Javier Barden plays him fine, and the connection they make to Jack's past is actually very intersting. So all in all, an ok to good movie, with nice action, some funny lines, and good score all around. And really, just hearing the familiar notes of Klaus Badelt's theme makes me want to draw my sword and sail to the horizon, so the movie doesn't have to do much to entretain. This movie is not better that the first three, but at the very least, is does much better than the last one and gives me hope that the finale that is most certainly coming can recapture the seas at least one last time. Recommended for pirate's fans or action movie fans that are not expecting a grand thins. For everybody else, if you have a free afternoon maybe you can watch it, but don't expect that much.… Expand

I'm not sure if my complete and utter boredom with this film is a result of a bad mood I was in upon seeing it or a result of the film itself. Somehwere along the way however I was just done with this movie. It landed in the no-go area of notI'm not sure if my complete and utter boredom with this film is a result of a bad mood I was in upon seeing it or a result of the film itself. Somehwere along the way however I was just done with this movie. It landed in the no-go area of not being anything too good or too bad. It wasn't memorable. In fact, I forgot most of what happened in the movie when I left the theatre. The pacing is ridiculously off. The first half or so of the film feels like exposition. The unlikely trio only set off on their quest in the last hour or so. When they finally get going, it feels like nothing happens besides cliche and completely unbelievable dramatic dialogues wherein the characters spell out for you some plot point in clunky wordage (or in oddly placed and overstayed memory sequences). Every bloated and overly explicit dramatic dialogue piece (matched only by the odd shift to blue humor dialogue) dragged on in what felt like an eternity. It felt like watching a formula: dramatic dialogue + action sequence + dramatic dialogue+ action sequence... ad infinitum. For all its movement it didn't feel like it was going anywhere. The action felt inconsequential since you know the way it will turn out (Captain Jack will pull some wacky trick out of his hat). The movie didn't make us care about the characters in new ways. It just shamelessly plugged the tired, old formula (and in less style than its predecessors). Lastly, you could really tell that Johnny Depp was not fully invested in this role. His acting seems slightly 'off' (who can blame him) and the writing for his character has him revel as a drunkard for most of the film, never hashing out what could have been a meaningful character arc for the familiar character, electing instead to never show the audience the significance of the story to Jack. It astounded me how little Jack seemed to care about being there; he was not the only one. I really wasn't expecting much from this movie. Unfortunately, it did nothing to change my mood going into it. In fact, it did the worst thing a movie can do: it met all my expectations.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pirates des Caraïbes : la Vengeance de Salazar [spoiler] "Je vole votre Bank !" [/spoiler] sont les meilleures retrouvailles possible avec cet univers perdu au milieu de mauvais film..
Enfin on retrouve ce qui faisait le charme du 1 et 2 peut être pas aussi bien, mais on s'éclate.
J'ai adoré le design et la recherche du "Dans pirate des caraïbes on s'amuse avec la mer, les navires et jack !"
C'est excellent

One of the most good sequels made. Not funny how the early films was but certainly a good end.

Actors: 9/10 acting very clear, nothing new, older characters reappears to nostalgic feeling. Special Effects: 9/10 Awesome, some clothes do notOne of the most good sequels made. Not funny how the early films was but certainly a good end.

Special Effects: 9/10 Awesome, some clothes do not get wet but every masterpiece get some errors.

Soundtrack: 10/10 As always marked one of my favorite ones, the entire series has a deep and planned soundtrack.

Story/Script: 6.5/10 Somekind vague and controversial sometimes. Details are not polished enough to huge fans some breachs were left open, but still solid.

Veredict: 8.5 well made, decent for a final but with a lot of "holes of hollow" on history.… Expand

Im very big fan of this series. and for me stranger tides was pointless part in this series. but this one made my day. This part is full of fun, a lot of jokes, nice story, nice CGI, nice ending, very good cameos.

Yes, it is not perfect movie like first three parts and story is not that much good. (Those part was directed by Gore Verbinski so no doubt if he is not director, movie won't be like first three) but its much better than stranger tides and is very good movie. Full enjoyable from start to end.

The only issues I have with the movie is that it changed where Jack got his compass and that even thought William turner played a pretty big part I would have liked to see him and his ship more. But all in all the only movie in the series that I think was better then this one was the first one and that is why I give it a 9 out of 10.… Expand

The movie wasn't bad. It was a bit interesting but the end was really disapointing and i'm not talking about Barbossa.
I'm so angry, as i'm Pole and i decided to watch the movie with dubbing. The Jack Sparrow's voice is **** there in polish dubbing.

Javier Bardem was such a huge scene stealer. Johnny Depp was not the same character, but he still did a great job. I am excited for the sequel that was teased in the post credits scene. On May 25, the fifth movie of the franchise "Pirates of the Caribbean" was released for hire - "The Dead Do not Tell a Fairy Tale". I advise you to watch this movie for you.

The critics who criticized the film concentrated (erroneously, in my opinion) on the chaotic nature of the narrative. From this it was possible to conclude that the "Dead Man" turned out to be a delusional mess - but at least a mess from beautiful frames and a cheerful action. Let there is no sense and the general logic of the story, let the story - crap, but at least shooter and jokes individually can entertain, right? Not a fig. The main disadvantage of the new part is that it is completely empty - to the horror of boring, viscous, like a quagmire and equally barren. It's not that there is no logic in what is happening (although it is not), the fact is that there is nothing happening in it - nothing is happening here literally. Endless scenes of some conversations, aimlessly fermenting, again bubnj and muttering, horrible sorting jokes, so-so the final epic - and the long-awaited titles. This frankly bloated hack-work did not feel even a quarter, oddly enough. "Dead" resemble a game made under an expensive license - in a hurry, just to cut the dough on the title. So here everything is cardboard, secondary and absolutely dead. Depp here does not look like such an otzharatym hog, as in "Fantastic creatures", but no use from Sparrow. True, Depp's guilt is not here - he's completely in shape, it's just that writers for some reason have deprived the protagonist of the franchise of all human qualities, having washed it up to the level of JJ Binks. The sparrow walks without pants, is constantly drunk in the insole and most often does not know where he is or what he is doing. No cunning plans and intrigues, clever moves and brilliantly successful mistakes. He makes a miserable impression - it's before you realize that you're embarrassed for him, like the described grandfather with Alzheimer. It's just painful to watch such a murder of a character. The fifth film is an even bigger spin-off, the problem is that it's not even Sparrow. Not Will, Elizabeth, Barbossa, Davy Jones, Tia Dalma, Monkey Jack, Gibbs or any other memorable character. No, this spin-off of two new, completely unfamiliar to the viewer and tightly deprived charisma of heroes. The son of Will and Elizabeth named Henry and his girlfriends, the girls who, because of her learning, want to burn like a witch.

Trying to shove us with cheap imitations for Will and Elizabeth are counted. He is a cute, brave fellow, a little naive and straightforward, and she is a daring girl of no time, too shy and smart to accept the role assigned to her by society.

M-yes, we have never seen such anywhere. It remains to adjust for these younger Will and Liz own mini-Sparrow (let him play the role of Monkey Jack) and the franchise will successfully pass the phase of a soft restart. Straight to the bottom. But still I love this franchise and I'll look forward to the new part of the film! Let go of the Kraken!… Expand

Dead man tell no tales was best. and pic is so good, but in indian cinema this time not much liked becose the jack sperow voice was not good as like past all parts .. it was good which was past voice and we have likes that much then last time .... the old all part voice was realy awesome caractor on hindi dubbing ,, he has realise us the caption jack sperow origional voice so i hope in next pirate movie we can hear him old voice with hindi dubbing ...and will be much more adventure in next part ... hope jack sperow will be haveing fun much more then other parts ... and should be some magic like 1st and 2nd part that was greatest parts of symbol of pirate ,, caption jack sperow .......... thanks to give us a chance to give us feedback .... your friend mjack… Expand

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is not the best movie in the series, but it is better than the one before (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).

The first one will be always my favorite, but this one did great. I did not love it, but I liked it!
And I found a lot of problems in this movie!
The humor most of the time was ridiculous and not funny!
The way we saw Jack Sparrow for the first time in this movie, was usual, it was perfectly CGI-ed, but made no goddamn sense!
The performance of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow was not impressive as it was in the first movie, but it was good.
I am still hoping to see a movie such as the first one in this franchise, cause they made some wrong things right in this one.
The performance of the characters was not bad, but not really good.. less than fine to be honest!
I loved the performance of Barbossa, Salazar and I liked Jack Sparrow too.
The action scenes were pretty good, and the CGI was totally amazing!
Sometimes it was funny, but not every joke worked up with me actually.
The story was more than great, and the ending was the best ending in the franchise!
As a result, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is such a good movie, so I am going to give B.
It is a really worth-watching movie!… Expand

Don't make a sixth movie. I'm not saying this movie is bad. I really enjoyed it, but I think they need to stop only because Disney just might not cast Johnny Depp. That's a bad thing. They can't replace Johnny Depp. They just can't.

Good movie, nice Story. Would be a great end for the franchise.
The only thing I don't like is that the Studio don't seem to make 3D-Scenes that look anything other than stupid in 2D.

The Movie Was Greatt, Fantastic new casting of David wenham..Javier Bardem..Brenton Thwaites..Kaya Scodelario it wass the best new faces casting you’ll need for this moviee , Javier did the best job For his Role as Salazar it was breathtaking , Barbossa was not as Good in the last movies , not as good meaning he did not have a classic sword fight scene , only a 3 second scene with one of salazar’s men , Brenton and Kaya & David wenham did a great jobb for their roles Gibbs too , but Jackkk , he was not as funny or as Smart like in the other movies , i mean he did have some sword fights with salazar but not a classy one where the Main theme is playing , and yes he played it smart in the scene where he saves henry from the sharks that was good but not enough Jack usually is like that in the entire movie , And at the end where he Skillfully removes the sword from henry to give it to barbossa... that was good too i meeaan the directors must give us something , But they should have given us mor from Sparroww that would have Made this Movie a 10 , And lastly The reunion of William and elizabeth was the best ending !!❤️❤️… Expand

Despite what critics are saying, I enjoyed this movie. Perhaps the most noticeable parts are the pacing, action, and set pieces. The acting is great too, although some dialogue felt a bit, um, too humorous. That brings me to my main complaint, the humor. There is a lot of humor and some of it, or most of it, feels a bit unnecessary and forced. Yes, there are some laughs to be had, but for the most part they are very forced and just plain silly. His cleverness is gone; in its place is a bumbling idiot who is narratively used for comic relief and nothing else.

Instead, Pirates 5 focuses on the son of original-trilogy lovebirds Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann - Henry Turner. He sets out to find the trident of Poseidon, because it can reverse ALL curses. Given Will Turner's fate at the end of Pirates 3 (At World's End), it's not hard to see where this is going. Add in a seemingly-random young woman astronomer who was always ready with a socially progressive quip or two, and it is time to set off on an adventure. And the adventure itself is decent. Kind of. You've got your weird mysticism, grand sea battles, and resolution of how to free a ship from a bottle (though that last part is very disappointing). Bardem is a decent villain, Geoffrey Rush's Barbosa returns to chew scenery, and the innocent-yet-determined young people are convincing. But the main reason I like to watch Pirate films is watch Jack Sparrow connive his way into and out of danger. That magic is long gone.… Expand

Anyway, I've just seen this movie myself after deciding to rent it on YouTube to enjoy a quiet night in. It started well enough, with an intriguing continuation of the Turner family and a fun and exciting action sequence shortly after that really captured the spirit of the old movies - then the mediocre story, recycled villain (literally another captain cursed to roam the seas with a ghost ship - only this time he isn't a pirate) and relatively boring music track kicked in and ruined it all. It wasn't as terrible as the last one, but it certainly doesn't stand up to the first three. I'll be fair and give it a five, because I understand that I'm much older than I was when I watched the original trilogy, and shows like Game of Thrones and Walking Dead have given me a lust for the blood of main characters that a Disney movie isn't really going to fulfil, but there's definitely some of the original charm and passion of the older movies missing in this one.… Expand

They just want to like the things they once liked so desperately that they overlook the most glaring flaws. It's the sort of thing that keeps people in toxic relationships. Well, America's been in a toxic relationship with Disney for thirty years now, and it's time to break up. They don't respect us; they don't share out values; they just want to whip up hyperactive garbage and expect us to stay with them because they used to make good movies. Most of the plot details passed me by but it was certainly a pretty entertaining watch anyway, though I'm not sure I'd remember much about it in a few days time, put it that way. This is a pretty easy and entertaining watch but I'm not sure I can say more than that. It is a bit cheesy too, though perhaps that's to be expected?.

If you liked the previous Pirates... films, then yes, I'd recommend, otherwise perhaps not.… Expand

Thirteen years after the events of At World's End, twelve-year-old Henry Turner boards the Flying Dutchman and informs his father, Will Turner, that the curse which binds Will to the Dutchman and only permits him to step on land once a decade can be broken by the Trident of Poseidon. Henry intends to recruit Captain Jack Sparrow to help find it, but Will believes this is impossible and orders Henry to leave. Will and the Dutchman then disappear into the sea, but Henry vows to find Jack and the Trident.

Nine years later, Henry is a sailor in the British Royal Navy. The ship sails into the supernatural Devil's Triangle and stumbles upon the wreck of the Silent Mary, whose ghostly crew led by Spanish pirate-hunter Captain Salazar attack. Salazar spares Henry's life to deliver a message to Jack: Salazar is coming for him.

In Saint Martin, a young astronomer and horologist named Carina Smyth is sentenced to death for witchcraft but escapes and briefly crosses paths with Jack as he and his crew spectacularly blunder a bank robbery. Having suffered years of such bad luck, Jack's crew lose faith and abandon him. Depressed, Jack trades his magical compass for a drink. However, this betrayal of the compass frees Salazar and his crew from the Devil's Triangle. Carina learns Henry is looking for the Trident's location and offers to help him using her unknown father's diary. Carina and Jack are captured and face execution, but are saved by Henry and Jack's crew, setting sail on the Dying Gull. Carina deciphers clues that the stars will lead to an island where the Trident is hidden.

Meanwhile, Captain Barbossa hears from his pirate crew that the revived Captain Salazar has killed several pirates at sea and is destroying Barbossa's fleet. Barbossa manages to talk his way out of being killed by offering to help find Jack and learns that the Trident could lead him to a new "treasure". Salazar agrees, wanting revenge on the pirate that caused his demise. Salazar pursues the Dying Gull, forcing Jack, Henry, and Carina to flee to an island, discovering that Salazar's crew cannot go on land. After saving Jack from a forced marriage, Barbossa allies himself with Jack, returning his compass and restoring the miniaturized Black Pearl, trapped in a bottle by Blackbeard, to its original size. They all continue their journey to the Trident's island, with Barbossa taking command of the Pearl once more. During the voyage, Jack and Barbossa realize Carina is the latter's long-lost daughter. Barbossa tells Jack that he had left her at an orphanage with his diary so she could live a better life, and refuses to tell her the truth so she will continue to believe her father was an astronomer.

Approaching the Trident's island, the Pearl evades a British Navy warship, which is destroyed by the Silent Mary before the Pearl runs aground on the island. Jack, Barbossa, and Carina use the island's magic to part the ocean and open a path to the Trident's location on the ocean floor. Salazar captures Henry and possesses him in order to walk on the ocean floor and seize the Trident. Once he does so, Henry is given his body back, and Jack distracts Salazar, allowing Henry to destroy the Trident, breaking all curses upon the sea and restoring Salazar's crew to life. However, the divided sea begins to collapse in on itself. The Pearl lowers its anchor to lift them to safety, but Salazar pursues them, still hell-bent on killing Jack. Carina realizes that Barbossa is her father when she spots a tattoo on his arm identical to the diary's cover. Barbossa sacrifices himself to kill Salazar, allowing the others to escape alive.

Sometime later, Henry and Carina reach Port Royal, where Will appears, free from the Dutchman. His wife, Elizabeth, appears moments later and the Turner family reunites. Henry and Carina kiss. Jack watches from the Pearl in faux-disgust before sailing away into the horizon, having been accepted by his crew as their captain once again, while also adopting Captain Barbossa's now-homeless monkey.… Expand

Part 5 has Jack Sparrow now on a quest for to find the trident of poseidon. Still a lot of the original crew is missing as well. Still a good movie and lots of crazy scenes.

The story follows a young boy, Henry Turner, as he sets out on a quest to break the curse that has entrapped his father, Will Turner. Along the way, he is joined by an academic astronomer, Carina Smyth, and a drunken Jack Sparrow, as they all search for the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful object that can grant ultimate power over the seas and break curses. However, they are also being chased by a cursed crew of Spanish sailors led by Captain Armando Salazar, who seek revenge on Jack Sparrow. Despite impressive technical abilities, the film fails to capture the same excitement and swashbuckling adventure of its predecessor.
