Bonkers film from Kirill Serebrennikov ('Leto'). I still don't know what I just saw; definitely will need another watch later to figure out its labyrinthine plot. The history more or less follows a guy and his family in Russia after the fall of communism. Everyone suffers from annoying flu, and then weird things begin to happen. There are like three stories within the main story; the poster encapsulates this. What I get from all of this is a recollection of feelings from around the collapse of the Soviet Union, but it's hard to tell. While 'Leto' was accessible and fun, 'Petrov's Flu" is cryptic, dreamy, and wild. But there's no denying that this is vanguardist cinema at its peak. Expand
