This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Paradox starts out with an interesting, if well-worn, premise: A character goes back in time to stop an event from happening. Fair enough. But the movie fails at almost every level to live up to the premise. Instead of crafting the tale well to make the killer a reasonable person, a bait and switch is done, letting you think it's one character, but it's really another. That would be fine, except for two things:

1) The person who *should* be the killer is shown early on. You even see this character putting on all the gear necessary.

2) The person the movie *wants* the killer to be literally can't be the killer.

*Spoilers after this point*

The person set up to be the movie's protagonist turns out to be the killer. But how? It's very clear when the protagonist goes ahead in time that they're *all* dead, including the protagonist. So if the protagonist died in the attack, how did he travel to 2029? And if, as the killer, he died in the elevator, you have the same problem.

The story doesn't make any sense with the time travel rules the movie made up.… Expand
