Such a great film by Anna Gutto! Excellent acting performances, sophisticated subject matter on human trafficking, and great script and direction.

A very relatable movie with drama plus action. A family dynamic and real life issues/decisions really tug at your heart strings. Female truckers rock!

Riveting! This movie is a must see with an all-star cast that will have you shocked, giggling, sad, angry, cheering, and on edge. It also brings much needed awareness to sex trafficking and systematic issues. Kudos!

This is a solid debut film from the director/writer with good messaging and a fascinating world to explore. Juliette Binoche has dived into her role head first and Hala Finley is a standout discovery.

Very intense and emotionally evocative! Hala Finley and Juliette Binoche were great, as was Morgan Freeman! A great debut for Anna Gutto!

This isn't a actual disaster, but it came very close to being one.
Paradise Highway is a thriller that spends its two-hour lifespan searching for a way to ensure not only that its narrative is good, but that it's sufficiently compelling.

Paradise Highway is a thriller that spends its two-hour lifespan searching for a way to ensure not only that its narrative is good, but that it's sufficiently compelling. Needless to say it fails miserably. And it's an even bigger shame that it doesn't even make it considering that its cast was decent enough, and this one actually doesn't do too bad, but an actor even with desire will be crippled by a bad script, now imagine them acting just for their paycheck with a bad script. The main idea wasn't bad at all. There really was a good story here, but there's not much to do when there's no direction and the result becomes exhaustingly dull.

Norwegian Anna Gutto's feature debut is not a trivial thriller road movie. "Trafficking will not go away until people stop buying, Gerick. We know that. All right? We get these guys and someone else is just gonna satisfy the demand". "That's what gets me up in the morning". Such a tragic vision of existence with such a disillusioned and sorrowful Morgan Freeman does not follow boring and outworn stereotypes, but recalls the legendary glories of a noir like "Se7en" (1995), prolonging the final scene for the entire duration of the film and thus drying up the pyrotechnic cipher of Fincher's formalism.

I understand the idea of the story but I don't buy it. Too many extremes from bond the girl to having parental feelings to her. Also the relationships from other characters are weird or just have no point for the story.
