Like a lot of indie looking films on Netflix, I expected to watch this for about 5 mins before turning it off. As we all know they will green light just about anything, leaving to some down right tragedies. This movie though, somehow locked me in from the start. The banter and character development throughout this film lead you to feel things that for me at least can't be put well enough into words for this review. I sat staring at the credits allowing them to almost completely run, just thinking about how great this movie is. 10/10 for making me feel things no movie has ever made me feel before. I hope Mark and Ray win something for their performances. To the writer/s, thank you. Expand

The best friendships between guys is many a time one of loyalty without expressing ones emotions, this film plays to that brilliantly. The terminal diagnosis is always the elephant in the room, not talked about, but the catalyst for everything that happens and how the characters interact. They know it, the audience knows it and it makes even the small moments an intense watch and allows you to feel for both characters, even when they aren't always on the same page.
This is not a feel-good film, but a fantastic story of 2 middle aged men with the type of friendship that shows that the concept of 'the one' is not for everyone, but the best person in your life can be a guy you can eat pizza with while watching kung fu movies.

The first thing that came to mind when the movie ended was " why did they make this movie?"
pointlessly melancholic only works with brilliant acting and writing which you will not find here

I like it although I think it has received more appreciation than it deserved.
Excuse a bit the arrogance but the truth is that despite being functional, it never ceases to be a fairly basic drama.
Very much within the Netflix standard.

While at first, The friends try to keep things upbeat, optimistic and sticking to the same routine (almost as if it was business as usual). They soon find themselves struggling with the decision and the inevitability that, in a way, two lives are going to be ended when just one dies.

It's a really touching film with great performances. Romano does a fantastic job and Duplass, as always, continues to kill it in these low-budget films that never seem to get enough credit where credit is due. I very highly recommend it if you can find the time to watch it.

What would you do if you knew that you had little time to live? The idea is well elaborated throughout 89 minutes, with a minimum of resources and a good load of emotion that avoids reaching the tearful. That is appreciated.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is an understated film about a difficult subject - the impending death of one mans close friend. I thought it was quite poignant at times and I found some of the interactions between the two main characters, Michael and Andy, at different times amusing and sweet. Its a good depiction of male companionship - the two guys seem quite comfortable with things, which may be hard to understand given the brutal situation they feel but what choice do they have? I suppose. As I say its relatively understated, i.e. its not full of Hollywood industry forced sadness, forced saccharine sweet aspects - it handles the heavy themes in a pretty matter of fact way, with numerous arguments highlighting their frustrations and differences of opinion. Its quite a human film, I think its fair to say. Thoughtful stuff - worth a watch. Expand

Romano is great in this doing his typical late stage schtick, sand-off is a funny and useful wish. The movie verges a little too much on un-comfortability towards the end.

A simple story told in a very simple, yet grounded way. Two really good performances headline a bleak comedy that is also very raw and emotional.
