So, One Piece is my favorite show but before I watched Gold my expectation was not that High because One Piece Z was so great that I thought it will never beat Z. The Animation WAS AWESOME literally one of the best Animations with HellsingSo, One Piece is my favorite show but before I watched Gold my expectation was not that High because One Piece Z was so great that I thought it will never beat Z. The Animation WAS AWESOME literally one of the best Animations with Hellsing OVA and One punch man is One Piece Gold on the same level, even higher then Hellsing OVA. The movie Gold has only a little bit story in it but that is fine because other things like creativity,character design,characters coming back in the series,comedy and overall fun was in there.

The only thing that I didn´t liked was the soundtracks though.

One Piece film Gold is a good movie and will keep you entertained throughout. While there can be an argument that the movie is borrowing a lot of tropes of every heist film, such as the Ocean series. This doesn’t dampen the enjoyment as OneOne Piece film Gold is a good movie and will keep you entertained throughout. While there can be an argument that the movie is borrowing a lot of tropes of every heist film, such as the Ocean series. This doesn’t dampen the enjoyment as One Piece managed to put its own spin on the tropes and manage to twist the story while still taking us on a fun adventure. In addition to being a fan of the Ocean series, I see no problem, especially since I was wanting a good One Piece Heist setup. After all, they are pirates. However, as a veteran watcher and reader of one piece. I couldn’t help but feel that this movie was mainly a way to please the main hardcore fans of the series. A gigantic portion of One Piece Film Gold was like one huge shout out to the fans and maybe even a motivator for new people to start the series. The film was littered with cameos of characters from other arcs that could be easily missed if one doesn’t pay attention. In addition to the returning character such as Sabo and Rob Lucci(and Spandam I guess) were all callbacks to previous arcs. To put simply, I personally don’t believe this movie was made for any other the Hardcore One Piece fans who know the ins and out of the series. Overall, I found this movie entertaining and recommend people check out One Piece Film Gold. Expect the film to come out in theaters on January 10-17, 2017 in the US and Canada with Funimation Dub. With that, I shall take my leave folks, SEE YA!… Expand

Personally, I found the critic reviews to be far too harsh. If anything, I found it superior to anime show films that are don't add to the ongoing plot. I think it helps that run-time is longer than most films of it sort. Gave more time toPersonally, I found the critic reviews to be far too harsh. Similar most of the previous One Piece movies, Film: Gold doesn't expect you to know any of the continuity going into the film. It does a fantastic job of setting up character stakes early on, and provides a tense and entertaining environmentSimilar most of the previous One Piece movies, Film: Gold doesn't expect you to know any of the continuity going into the film. It does a fantastic job of setting up character stakes early on, and provides a tense and entertaining environment with its flashy casino setting. Newcomers will see characters already in their dynamics, and the movies rarely do anything to build or change any specific character behaviors or teach a lesson. Gild Tesoro is a menacing and brutal villain that more than holds his own against the Strawhat crew; more than willing to cheat and exploit or just overpower anyone that threatens his authority. Newcomers won't understand the series references, which is costly as there is an especially the large one that comes about 2/3rd of the way through the film. That being said:

- If you're a newcomer, it's a movie of a couple of goons getting high-railed by an evil casino owner. References will be missed but not essential to viewing.
- If you're a series veteran, it's a solid singular story outside of canon, plus the additional callbacks help round out the shorter movie time, though I wish a few of them had more to do within the narrative directly.

As a newcomer I can see this movie being about a 6-7, 7.5 at best
As a veteran I'll gladly give this movie an 8. Not as impactful with the emotion and energy of its predecessor Movie Z, but has a ton of flash and the stakes are way more personal.… Expand

Gold rushes the fan-service full nose, since Nami is really put forward (gold is his domain).
