Another j-horror remake that just doesn't get it. The only remake to get it, so far, has been the original Ring remake. Of course, remaking a Miike movie for the PG-13 crowd is a misstep and was doomed from the get-go. Also, for the Another j-horror remake that just doesn't get it. Also, for the record, the original Japanese version came out in 2003, while Final Destination was released in 2000. That said, Takashi Miike probably never saw Final Destination as he was too busy pumping out four movies and a TV mini-series that year.… Expand

An awful remake of an awful Japanese Horror film. The only good part about this movie was the Exorcism scene. Quite violent for a PG-13 movie too.

2nd favorite horror movie. Screw all u haters. here is nothing wrong with this movie, sure, this was a failed attempt, but wut was best about this movie was the horrific scenes.

It's not as bad as people think. Usually I don't get scared at horror movies, but this one really freaked me out. It's suspensful, freaky, and enjoyable. The deaths do mirror final destination, but its worth it to give it a chance.

Good movie. I hear a lot of bad things about this movie, but I don't understand why. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Any one would be scared if this happened to them.

I found myself laughing more times than I was feeling scared. Actually I don't think I was ever scared during the movie. Just a really crappy film.

The most shocking thing abut this movie is that anyone cared enough to go on with it's no-sense making story. An awful waste of time with cheap scares and bad acting.

Hilariously bad. The moments which were meant to be tense were laughed at by the audience. There are several things which let this movie down. This was just about the worst movie i have seen in 2008. It lacked originallity and creativity and bored me to tears. I wasted my money by watching it. UN-suspenseful, not well written, gaping plot holes worthy of only the finest swiss cheese and just generally laughable. I mean, i actually started laughing during some parts of the movie. When Beth isn't putting herself in harm's way, she's endangering her friends. Beth is practically an accomplice when the first male victim gets murdered. Her college friend's untimely demise is a symptom of callous neglect. Beth had witnessed the supernatural occurence with her pal's cell-phone, and should've never left the doomed girl alone. It's up to you. Beth is either a bad friend, or the victim of a bad script that renders everybody with bad judgment so the story can progress towards a convoluted fatalism. "One Missed Call" has its share of eye-popping visuals, but they're recycled from other Japanese(or Japanese-inspired) horror flicks.… Expand

Just to sum it up, it's like Final Destination only stupider and with cell phones. If you hated Final Destination and hate cell phones then this movie will damn sure be on your most hated movies list.

Ok, stupid people gotta get this straight. The Original Japanese one came out before Final Destination. SO Final Destination copied this! They pretty much butchered the Japanese one, but i gotta give it credit for entertaining me.. and the 2 Ok, stupid people gotta get this straight. Not as bad as they say. When you see the Japanese version, this will seem a comedy. Honestly I liked it, but not more than the Japanese version. Recommended for viewing with your friends.

This movie stunk really bad. It wasn't scary and the plot borrowed from movies like the Final Destination and the Grudge. It was very stupid, unoriginal, and I still don't understand why all the ghosts look like Chinese people for no reason.

While the movie fails on a lot of levels (Not scary, bad acting, bad special effects...) it succeeds at being at the very least entertaining and the last half hour was quite fun to watch. It requires a special kind of stupid to make a movie this bad. This is without a doubt the worst horror movie I've ever seen, and one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There are countless plot holes and inconsistencies, and it borrows heavily from The Ring; the protagonist has a certain amount of time to solve the mystery behind an urban legend before she is killed. The explanations for what was going on in the movie were so lame. Some stuff wasn't explained at all. There is also an extremely high amount of jump scares, all of which make you roll your eyes. One was so bad that the loud noise didn't match up with the "scary image". You'd think there'd at least be a little bit of tension to compensate for the lame jump scares, but there's a shortage on that too. You don't care about any of the characters because they're introduced, then killed of in about 5 minutes. You definitely want to miss this call.… Expand

Its not awful, its just not good in anyway whatsoever. There is a scary 10 minutes or so, but the rest of the is just so bland (the first 50 minutes might as well not be watched). More like One Missed opportunity. While the original may not be a perfect horror film, but it's way way better than this movie when it comes to exaction and a pay off.

There is absolutely nothing to like about this. It replaces all of the suspense from the original film with lousy jump scares and a completely nonsensical plot. And the ring tone they use in the film isn't even scary. Not in the slightest. If you heard the ring tone in the original film, chills would definitely crawl up your spine. But not in this film. When you hear the ring tone in this film, you know that something DUMB is about to happen.

This movie completely missed the point of the original. The dude who directed it didn't even see the original before making this. I wish I could rate this movie lower but since I can't, I'll just have to settle for a 0. Movie directors who are planning to make a remake of a fantastic horror movie should take some notes from this film on how NOT to do that. Or just simply don't make the remake in general. Out of all American remakes of great Japanese horror movies, I think the only one that was any good was The Ring. The rest, such as this one... complete trash. Skip this and just watch the original. It's so... so... SO much better.… Expand
