It's a good Filipino film that depicts the politics of the Philippines.On the Job is good political movie but due to it's unfocused narrative that you will end up figuring out just to understand to make each scene make sense,the charactersIt's a good Filipino film that depicts the politics of the Philippines.On the Job is good political movie but due to it's unfocused narrative that you will end up figuring out just to understand to make each scene make sense,the characters are well written and the actors have great performances and the action is great with a well executed shootouts.Even with an unfocused narrative,Director Erik Matti did an absolute job making the film interesting and enjoyable.It felt unique and overall a must see. With a year 2016 a pure crap of films,I finally found a film that is not that bad but not that great but atleast it's interesting and well realized.It's not a 2016 film but it caught my attention.It's good.

Da auffällig viele aus politischem Umfeld stammen, vermuten Haudegen-Cop Acosta und Newcomer-Superbulle Francis eine korrupte Verschwörung – rennen bei den Ermittlungen jedoch gegen Wände – bis mehr als nur die Nase blutet. Erik Matti setzt in seinem Thriller-Drama On the Job auf Authentizität statt Pomp: Dezente Wackler und schnelle Zooms im reizvollen Manila-Setting erinnern an die Doku-Ästhetik Michael Manns, während Matti bevorzugt das komplizierte Privatleben der nie schwarz-weißen Figuren fokussiert. Die raren, aber spannenden Früh-John-Woo-Actionszenen prägt derweil ein angenehmer Noir-Look. So ist On the Job abseits einer ungeschickten Sexszene und einem CGI-Ausrutscher ein stiller, stilvoller Beitrag zum Asia-Crime-Genre. Expand

A modern thriller that partially shows the corruption of a country that struggles with justice system, poverty, drugs and crimes, and also gives rebirth to its dying genre in Philippine cinema.
