After an incident at home, his secret past bubbles up and he goes on a violent rampage, revealing his special set of lethal skills. As revenge flicks go, this one has its share of kills, but without anything new…just lots of careening cars, hard hits and bullseye gunshots. Since there’s an accomplished actor in the lead, he gets the opportunity for a dramatic nod or two. The premise borders on absurd and tasks credibility, but some people might enjoy watching him ferociously kick many asses. Expand

Almost a carbon copy of John Wick 1, nothing new, poor "russia bad" goon badguy cliché.

It almost feels like it's plugging a series or at least a sequel. I just found it super bland and derivative. It's one of many action flicks that uses the dark past trope. Soundtrack and cinematography weren't even that noticeable. Competent but forgettable action movie is the best I can say for it. History of Violence did it way better. Expand

It earned the points because basically since the beginning, Nobody makes it clear that it will not try to fool anyone into believing that there is more than what you see.

Nobody doesn't come to reinvent anything, and at no time does it seek to do that.

This is old-fashioned action. Tough and direct, without concessions and without apologies.

I didn't quite buy into Bob Odenkirk's badass performance, but he knows what he's aiming for, and gets the movie off the ground. What can I say? From time to time, movies like this one are necessary to relieve some stress.

Straight up garbage! what a boring most generic movie you can imagine! Netflix makes better movies than this and that's saying a lot.

It's a low-rent John Wick. It's John Wick without the heart. It's a John Wick knock-off that brings absolutely nothing new to the table. And it's a total waste of the great Connie Nielsen. (It's great to see Michael Ironside, though.)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This film is just one big glorification of extreme violence, with 2D bad guys that are just there to be hated upon and killed by our likeable but also insanely violent protagonist. But he looks kind of friendly and has lied his way into a loving relationship because he craves redemption, aww. However his wife isn't giving him any so he may as well go back to battering drunks on the bus and take up his old hobby of slaying Russian gangsters. It's a good job his wife is on board with the whole thing and goes willingly into the basement with their two children while he kills people. True love is so unconditional. Add a thumping soundtrack and the plot from John Wick and you have a winner. I watched the whole thing and it entertained me because the action is well filmed and the pacing is ok, but there's nothing at all that inspirational or moving, it's really just gratuitous violence for the sake of it with no substance. Pretty much like John Wick. Loads of it doesn't even make sense. He throws away his new identity to beat up some thugs on a bus, when actually they haven't even assaulted anyone? And a geriatric Christopher Lloyd blowing people away with a shotgun? Come on. He made himself into a joke. That just made the film seem farcical. None of these gangsters can even shoot straight. It's so unbelievable. What happened to gritty action films where the heroes are actually vulnerable? Expand

"John Wick" splits and doubles adding style and irony of a Ritchie or Besson. From the parts of an action movie adapted from a graphic novel, this updated version of "True Romance" (1993) and "A Life Less Ordinary" (1997) makes one regrets the glories of "True Lies" (1994), where Cameron's hand knew how to multiply the reading planes beyond measure.

A film that actually falls short of the acting skills of Bob Odenkirk. The bad script and the incredibly misplaced music made this a film that you quickly forget.

I have liked the first half of the movie but can't say the same for the second half. Overall, It feels like a carbon copy of the first John Wick movie.
