InThe current era of symbolism wasn’t lost on me in that other Craig Bond film with Craig Bond tied up, naked and have his balls repeatedly bashed in. We went from the liberal liberated swinging sixties to this prudish regression in 2020s'. In No Time To Fun. Yeah I am glad this uptight broody boring Craig era of Bond is over. I can’t even say Craig was the worst Bond as he was never really a Bond in the first place. Jason Bourne did this style on non bond spy action way better. So this non Bond isn't even worth a rewatch for a Bourne style fan. Not thinking this is a Bond type, but a Bourne type may help HC Bond fans sit through this deconstruction of all that is quintessential Bond. Expand

Since having played James Bond beginning with 2006’s Casino Royale, No Time to Die is officially the fifth and final instalment with Daniel Craig in the role. After being delayed due to change of director and COVID-19 pandemic where theatres all over the world were closed, the finale movie is finally here to be watch on the big screen for good.

After the events of Spectre, James Bond (Craig) have retired from active service in the MI6 and currently in a relationship with Dr. Madeleine Swann (Seydoux). During their holiday trip in Italy, Spectre assassins attacks Bond while he is visiting Vesper Lynd’s grave. Believed that Madeleine betrays Bond due to her late father, Mr. White, was part of Spectre, he left her.

Five years later, Bond have been living in Jamaica alone until his old friend from the CIA, Felix Leiter along with Logan Ash from State Department asking for his help to locate Dr. Valdo Obruchev, who have abducted from MI6 by a terrorist group led by Lyutsifer Safin (Malek). At first he refuse to help and wanting to stay out of it until he meets Nomi, an MI6 agent who inherited Bond’s former designation, 007. She informs Bond about Project Heracles which was created by Dr. Obruchev. After contacting M (played by Ralph Fiennes) to know more about the project and learning that he was the one who approved it, he choose to help Felix in what appears to be his final mission.

Having watched all of Daniel Craig’s James Bond movies, this movie is one of the best in his version of the character. The writing in this movie is very well written. This movie does what the previous James Bond movies that have never done before which one of them is giving a satisfying conclusion to Craig’s James Bond. The previous movies played by the other actors do not even a conclusion to their respective stories. Not only that, the movie also tied up all loose ends that have set up in the last four movies. By doing that, this brings a permanent end to Craig’s James Bond movies with no more follow ups or potential spin off.

Since this is the final chapter of Craig’s James Bond movie, the cast definitely bring out their best performances especially Daniel Craig and Rami Malek. I’m very impressed that Daniel Craig still have the charismatic and acting skills to play the character for 15 years which means he played the character much more longer than the late Roger Moore despite the latter played the character seven times. I’m sure the late actor would be proud of him. As for Rami Malek, he not only played a very good villain character but also a theatening and more villainous. In addition with the writing of this movie, his character also does what the previous Bond villains have never done before. Due to heavy spoilers, I will not reveal what he have done in the movie. Credits also goes to Cary Joji Fukunaga for his great direction for this finale. I don’t know if he actually done better than Danny Boyle, the original director before he left, but Cary did a great job regardless.

It was really sad to see Daniel Craig in his final role as James Bond in this movie. I could not figure out if anyone else could have been chosen for the role if he was not casted. Nevertheless, I think he portrayed James Bond the best. This movie is the end of an era of Daniel Craig’s James Bond. New actor will step up to replace him. While it may be the end of his James Bond but it is not the end of the franchise.

Predictable and absurd shooting scenes even for a movie. And really? a 60 year old man with a 35 year old female, and having your kid witness 50 gun murders? Bad plot and totally unrealistic, even for Hollywood.

For a long time, womenTime was, you could depend on the latest James Bond flick to offer reliably frivolous fun. When taking over the Bond role, Roger Moore famously said that “good teeth” was one of his major contributions to the role. For a long time, women were interchangeable props, evil was well-defined and all seemed right with the world. “No Time to Die,” Daniel Craig’s finale as Bond, demonstrates emphatically that it is not your father’s, or grandfather’s, version of the franchise.

The script by veteran writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade is presumably leavened at points by contributions from Director Cary Joji Fukunaga (who directed the amazing “True Detective” Season 1) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag,” “Killing Eve”). Apparently none of the group was an editor. The circuitous plot runs almost three hours, so bring along plenty of snacks (or a catheter, your call). The opening scene shows Bond’s idyllic getaway to Italy with love interest Madeleine (an excellent Lea Seydoux), who was first introduced in 2015’s “Spectre.” Soon enough, he’s nearly blown up. In a stunning plot twist, it turns out Bond has enemies. Arch-villain Lyutsfier Safin (see what they did there?!) has created nanobots programmed with poisons individualized to the DNA of his targets. The world hangs in the balance. Bombs, gunfire, car chases, missile strikes and general carnage appear as necessary. Yada, yada. As always, the plot is not the strong point here.

Two elements make the Daniel Craig iteration of this series worthwhile. First, a lot of fabulous actors have continued to turn up. Ben Whishaw (Q), Ralph Fiennes (M), Cristoph Waltz (Blofeld), Jeffrey Wright (the seventh actor to play CIA agent Felix Leiter in the series) and Ana de Armas (who temporarily steals the show as a clever, enthusiastic junior agent with three weeks of special training) are all excellent. There’s even a new agent (Lashana Lynch) who’s Black, badass and has appropriated the designation 007.

But what truly sets apart this film, the last five Bond films actually, is Craig’s interpretation of the role. He’s much more self-aware - and worse for wear - than his invulnerable predecessors. He’s wrestling explicitly with trusting and caring about the important people in his life. Themes of loyalty and loss permeate the script. As a result of Bond’s humanity, the storyline becomes more serious and more somber because there’s so much more at stake. This Bond is aware that life is filled with choices that have consequences and that he can’t stand above the fray. This film’s sense of finality and conclusion is further heightened by its incorporation of references to other films in the series – an island fortress (“Dr. No”), a spear gun (“Thunderball”), a visitor badge (not a hat) that is tossed to its perfect resting place in M’s outer office. And there’s the film’s closing number, Louis Armstrong’s “We Have All the Time in the World,” which was the theme for 1969’s “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” It all helps to create a sense of wistful retrospective.

What gets short shrift in all this is the villainy. Rami Malik’s Safin never reaches the epic proportions of past criminal masterminds. Christoph Waltz’ reprise as Blofeld is short-lived, literally. But there’s plenty of mayhem and derring-do to make up for this minor shortcoming.

Overall, “No Time to Die” is a very worthwhile installment for this franchise. Because Bond is playing for higher emotional stakes, the whole enterprise is much more satisfying. “No Time to Die” offers a story that is surprisingly stirring. Not shaken, not stirred, just right.

Tho the prologue was way too long for a Bond flick, this ain't your normal Bond flick.

So despite what some critics are saying about the pacing and length, after the intro this film got me stuck to my seat with a complex, colorful, multilayered story and insane action scences, but also presenting Bond as a human being more than the previous movies did, more specifically from the angle of what it means to live (and die) as an international spy. I thought the bad guys were a little too over-the-top, but then again this is the tradition of Bond flicks... you want them to look undefeatable. The locations and their use were fantastic, and the side actors were appealing even tho tongue-in-cheek.

It's true, tho, that that "Mumbling Lucifer Satan" arch-villain could have been played with more energy as here he just acts like a zombie. The subplot of having not an even higher leader of Spectre but their biggest foe (?) was original yet not too appealing... I was hoping for having a full-blown Dr. No instead, which would have made more sense with this series continuity and the film's title, and more justice as the "final boss" for the Craig era. It's a great end of the Craig era, and deserves the praise it didn't get. Daniel Craig has been the most charismatic yet realistic Bond in a long while.

Unfortunately this movie is probably the worst entry in the Craig Bond era.

In this movie, Bond is a passive, reactive character resulting in an uninvested watch. This Bond is the opposite of who Bond is. An overbearing, hyper-focused, goal oriented, flawed hero. It's only at the end of this movie Bond makes a decision and take action most of us would fail to take.

With Bond having no goals or clear obstacles to overcome, most of this movie drags to an anti-climatic finale.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Spoiler Alert. I'm not a big Daniel Craig fan, however my 1st Bond movie was at a drive-in, so I'm old. I have the entire Bond collection. I will not be adding this one! This movie should be titled, How to Destroy a Legacy! If it had been a love/action drama I would have maybe given it a 7. What idiot thought it a good idea to kill friggin OO7 & replace him with an unlikeable "manly" woman! As a woman, I don't want a woman Bond. They killed the Agent & castrated the franchise! Movie was too slow in an attempt to make you cry. This movie needed a happily ever after ending to save it. Confusing at times figuring out who, what, why! The Villain was very weak, too. Left theater empty & a little angry. Best part of movie, some action scenes & car gadgets cool as always. RIP Bond! Expand

This time, the story was really personal and didn't feel like it had the air-miles like other bond films. You know what i mean! One minute we're in Siberia, then Tunisia, then Somewhere else. This film didn't seem to have that.

And certain locations were so obvious that it was a set (like in Cuba) if just felt fake. The storyline was solid, the acting was good overall. it just came across overly scripted and in turn, not as believable.

The action at first was good, but as the film when on, it took a back seat. Bond going into the villains complex and sticking one bullet into every person without blinking, endless magazines and bad guys that were more like NPC's set to easy mode. Just boring.

Lea Seydeoux - Absolute dreamboat, but just used as an extra with a lot of lines.

The Bond Villain - Has to be the worse villain in any Bond film.

What made this film good, was the consistency of the story telling. Underneath it all was a good script. Just executed in an average way.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really like James Bond movies. The first outing of Daniel Craig as Bond is just perfect. One of my favorite movies of all time. Then Quantum was OK, Skyfall was very cool and Spectre was kind of boring. I had high hopes for this last film, the first third of the movie is pure Bond and freaking cool at that. Then the movie starts losing speed, becomes quite boring and too woke. By the end of the movie they have you hating Bond and everything he stands for. You are not sad or surprised with his demise. I think they tried to make an Armageddon type final scene but I would not shed a tear for this woke and self hating Bond. Not one tear. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILER ALERT. I will start by say this movies greatness is unfortunately over shadowed by once again demonstrating the left wing snow flake propaganda is alive and well in the movie biz. Please, its not an opinion when its so obvious. They kill off James Bond? MGM can suck it. Killed off to have his 007 number now replaced by an Afro American woman? Is she trans too? Lets cover all the bases. Its obvious again they have to give her 007 to make a point not some other double 00 marker. This is not a race thing but appears Hollywood is truly the racist. All it whats to do is make you see color. This is the end of an era. I was raised to see the person not the color. The millennial socialist regime is now running the studios. Im surprised her name isn't Jane Bond. Cancel culture at its finest. Mark my words, the next 007 movie will be the biggest flop. People want to James Bond, not 007. Orwellian times are here. Expand

You MUST watch Spectre before this one! This one is its sequel.

If you generally like 007 you'll like this one. It also has the best Bond girl ever!

Cars, gadgets, girls, and Bond just being awesome. Cary Joji Fukunaga directs this film with some style and the action sequences are one of the best of the franchise. The opening car chase is gripping as hell, the Cuba sequence is so much fun and the staircase shootout is very intense. Everything is gorgeously filmed and you can savor every second of the action. Fukunaga's handling of the character scenes are also very attractive, with some genuinely emotional scenes not really expected from the Bond series. Linus Sandgren's cinematography is glorious with some gorgeous scenery reminding me of La La Land and First Man. One of the few disappointments in the film is the villain played by Oscar winner Rami Malek. After the extremely effective horror like opening, he completely disappears until half way into the film and even then he rarely becomes interesting. Even if Malek is a great actor, he is just not given alot to do. The film is too long however and some of the dialogue scenes especially ones involving Malek does drag. The divisive ending is heartfelt and beautiful in my opinion and Daniel Craig truly ended on a high note. He is the best Bond in my opinion and he is glorious as Bond one last time. I saw this film 4 times in theaters and it is a film I won't forget. Expand

Pelicula increible que cierra la saga de Daniel Craig como Bond; Aun así el villano mediocre y una trama estereotipada hacen que tropiece y se tambale. Pero finalmente cierra de forma épica y concluye una de mis películas y actores favoritos.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's hard to decide what is worse - the romantic scenes meant to show that Bond is not just a merciless killer he's also a man with a heart or the action scenes full of CGI but lacking any excitement or tension. The mind-blastingly stupid secondary plot has Bond completely in love with a woman who just happens to be the daughter of his arch-enemy Blofeld but then falls completely out of love with her because she "betrayed" him? How exactly? Despite being completely in love with her at the start of the movie he knows nothing about their daughter who appears out of nowhere two hours later in the movie. The woman has access to top secret British facilities but MI6 have no way of tracking her. I could go on but please do yourself a favour and DO NOT WATCH THIS. Expand

At times it's a good film, but has nothing to do with espionage... this is essentially just the continuation & ending to Craig's Bond, that is JUST an action movie with upwards of 2 hours of acceptable Bond material. Then unfortunately you get an onslaught of cons right after each other with the asinine Wokeist-revisionist race war line, the whole Safin closes the silo doors, artificial sense of "somebody" is coming to take the virus so Bond HAS to double back, get infected and shot up, and sacrifice himself for the greater good. It was a cheap death for the sake of finishing the Craig storyline.

There are some very memorable scenes overall, the opening with Safin going to Madeleine's parents house is without a doubt inspired by horror/thriller film, the entire Cuba section is flawless, Norway's forest shootout is visually beautiful, and the shootout on the the staircase of Safin's base is fantastic.

I am disappointed that Craig's Aston Martin that he designed only sat in the garage. (my assumption is that it didn't pass road safety, or had no engine in it at the time) I do not really know why it was shown if it served no purpose, especially when it was marketed as "important"...

Lastly, for a history lesson. The Soviet Union (Russia) was never fascist/racist, they have worked alongside many different races, including Cubans and Africans throughout history. Russia has NEVER wanted a race war with anybody, Doctor Obruchev should have been German, Ukrainian, or in fact American.

Crazy shoot outs and stunts were over the top at times and felt more like a Tom Cruise action movie. Not really a spoiler, but will say they have a chase scene where dark helmeted riders on motorcycles come shooting out of a tree line on pursuit harking back to Roger Moore. All that was missing was the snow and a toboggan. Oh and this Bond has lots of tech and “Q” gadgets. Overall it was a chore to watch, and highly recommend re-watching last if not last couple Bond movies as several characters carry over, which can make a bit confusing at times. Expand

While Daniel Craig's turn as James Bond was on the whole a successful one, the last 2 efforts in this franchise have been a real disappointment. An under-developed villian along with a bloated and rather dull story really let this movie down.

I have, though, watched all of the recent ones and No Time To Die (2021) is the latest entry in the James Bond franchise and marks the end of the Daniel Craig era. An era if I look at it as a whole has certainly been entertaining but uneven, with some entries such as Casino Royale, my favourite Bond film so far, and Skyfall being awesome experiences. Now, Spectre, the one before this one, wasn't that good. It was well produced and directed but I didn't care for the story so I wasn't hyped or excited for this last one to the degree I normally would have been. After finishing No Time To Die, I can safely say it was a similar experience, albeit slightly better.

From a production standpoint, it was a well-produced and directed affair, for the most part. Cary Joji Fukunaga was at the helm this time who is famous for directing Season 1 of True Detective and as far as the audiovisual experience goes, it was a solid spy action thriller. There was some CGI stuff that was a bit iffy and the stormtrooper aim could have been lessened but oh well. The runtime is long, clocking in at around 2 hours and 40 mins, yet it had a lot packed in it in terms of action scenes, plot beats, jumping around locations and characters, tieing in material from previous films, and because of that, it didn't get completely boring despite my lack of interest in the actual story. Also, simply by being a fan of Daniel Craig and his Bond, having a sendoff experience carries some weight.

The performances were good which also helped attention retention, I have enjoyed the portrayal of Bond from Daniel Craig in every entry and this was no different with him being aged and a veteran at this point while showing vulnerability as he's looking for something more than the life he has. The supporting cast did their job well in whatever chunks of screentime they were given whether it's Ralph Fiennes as M, Lashana Lynch as the new 007, Ben Wishaw as Q, Lea Seydoux as the love interest Madeline, or Ana de Armas as the rookie agent Paloma who was not only absolutely stunning and lit up the screen with her presence, had she been in the entire movie and was the focus, I might have given this a 10/10.

Since the story takes place a while after Spectre and is a direct continuation since from what I can gather this is the most serialized Bond run, the baggage from that movie is present here. I usually am not a fan of the "It was me all along" trope as most of the time the writing isn't strong enough to pull it off well and that was exactly the case with Christoph Waltz's antagonist in the previous movie that is tied into this one while also further exacerbating the problem by having an even bigger baddy trying to raise the stakes but then completely falling flat on its face when it comes to Rami Malek's character. Somehow, Safin was worse than Blofeld and it's such a shame since James Bond isn't the same without a strong villain. Also, what a waste of a great actor. All of that combined with the love story that just isn't as strong as the movie would like you to believe, both in this and the previous one, and remembering how much better it was with Eva Green's Vesper and you now have a story that lacks the emotional connection, investment and intrigue that is required for a final outing to give you that tension, thrill, excitement and THE FEELS which would make the entire experience something to truly remember. Honestly, had they forgotten about Spectre and done their own thing and given Rami Malek more to work with (strong writing), this could have been good or even great.

Overall, I can't say I was disappointed since I had low expectations but I would have still liked to be surprised. However, the fact that during the marketing campaign, there was a lot of commotion over this being woke and Bond would be treated poorly etc because of the noise of the fandom in retaliation to click-bait articles and misinterpretations from shoddy journalism that is sadly the norm now, I was surprised to find out that wasn't the case, so that was nice. It's not a bad movie, it certainly has some entertainment value, but the story isn't good and that bogs it down A LOT. If you have enjoyed Craig's era or are a Bond completionist, give it a try. If you are not a fan of Bond and don't want to watch all of the previous films, I'll recommend giving Casino Royale a try and moving on from there depending on how you feel. And if I were to rate this, I'd give it a 6/10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am still processing the effect of watching the movie having seen it only a few days ago . At first i didn't know what to make of this protracted offering that as the dust settling i'm beginning to feel let down in more ways than one. Daniel's Bond appears to to be dead. That is something i had already prepared for emotionally , and having quite grown attached to daniel craig's bondi confess even though i know it was coming it was a shock element and pain . I am starting to see this particular movie as little more than simply a vehicle , a device by which bond can be killed off . This film was a never destined to give us the happily ever after that i had been hoping for with his retirement .

Is a great deal i could say about this month because i shall frame . All i will add is my dismay at the casting of the villain who appeared to be strolling through the movie suffering from a perpetual high of weed . Sometimes i could hardly hear what he was saying and at other times it didn't seem to make sense . Perhaps it's my age catching up with me;- i have followed bonds since 1962 and this is the most disappointing of any other film tired seen in this wonderful phenomenon. Blofeld - dead. Thank goodness. Very late.
Safin - dead, tick. Leiter - dead, that's bad.
Bond - probably dead. Very bad.
My soul - seriously injured, not good.

Now let's go to the bad part, This movie got the most boring bond villain's ever, like what motivates him to destroy other innocent peoples lives? what motivates him to kill people in the first place? sure the peformance of Rami Malek in this movie is good enough to not make him not the worst bond villain but still in my opinion Safin is the second most worst villain in the Craig era ever, but in the end what a good ending for the Craig era. Despite being the finale to Daniel Craig's rendition of James Bond, "No Time to Die" feels limp. Its fight scenes are bland and uninspired, Bond survives ridiculous scenarios that are ludicrously stupid even for this series' standards, and the main villain is about as cookie cutter as bad guys get. On top of all that, you have Lea Seydoux's performance as one of the most forgettable Bond girls of all time. Frankly speaking, her character's scenes were a chore to sit through, and rarely did it feel as though she and Daniel Craig had any chemistry. To touch back on the film's main villain briefly, his motivations are convoluted and non-sensical, and the "We are the same you and I" approach he takes to speaking with Bond has been done to death in about a billion other movies. "No Time to Die" may not be the most egregiously bad movie you'll see, but there's nothing here that we haven't seen time and time again in other Bond flicks. What a weak farewell this is.
