Summary: The documentary NATIONAL BIRD accompanies people who are determined to break the silence about one of the most controversial military actions of recent times: the secret drone war in the USA. In the center of the film are three veterans of the US Air Force who were involved in different functions even in this war. Their complicity in the killing of innocents of war makes them restless. Finally they go public - regardless of possible consequences. As the film progresses their stories take dramatic turns: One of them goes to Afghanistan, where she is confronted with a horrific incident and its victims. But their visit is also cause for hope for peace and reconciliation.
